“Leo. What the fuck are you doing? Get out of here.” I yelled.

“You are my fucking problem.” He yelled.

“What are you talking about?” I asked.

“The Alpha promised to leave this pack to me. That was before you came back into the picture. You’re his true heir and now you’re going to take it away from me.” He said, stumbling closer to me.

“You are fucking drunk. Get out of my room before I kick your ass like I did to Skylar.” I yelled.

“You are a gold digging bitch. You didn’t want anything to do with your father until now. Because as soon as you turn 18, you will be old enough to take over the pack.”He walked closer to the shower but I just stood there, staring him in the eyes to let him know that I was not intimidated by him. “You just showed up out of nowhere and embarrassed the hell out of me at school for what? Just to ruin my fucking life?” He growled.

“No. I will be old enough to find my mate at 18. Who the fuck wants to lead a pack at the age of 18? You’re delusional.” I yelled.

“What the hell is going on here?” Sandra yelled coming into my room.

“You tell me. Get your drunk ass son out of my bathroom.” I yelled.

“You slut. You probably invited him in and then made it look like he was at fault.” Sandra said.

“Oh my god. Maybe you two should go and live in the fucking woods for a while. At least then you wouldn’t be so fucking stupid.” I yelled. And a warrior came into the room, and quickly evaded his eyes away from me while I was naked in the shower.

“Excuse me Luna. I’ve been told to come and remove you and your son from Miss Ava’s bathroom.” The warrior said.

“Who the hell gave you that order?” Sandra snarled at him.

“The Alpha did.” The warrior said. And I smirked at her as she glared at me.

“This isn’t over.” Leo looked at me and spitted.

Sandra helped Leo out of my room as I turned the shower off and grabbed a towel. The warrior turned back to look at me when he realized that I was in a towel.

“Thanks Miles.” I said. And he nodded his head and left my room really quickly.

I walked to my walk-in wardrobe that had very little clothes in it because I refused to let dad buy me any. Especially clothes that looked like those girls at my school. I hated girls that looked plastic. Not that I had much to compare to, but the cabin did have a TV.

I dressed in black ¾ tights, socks and a black baggy t-shirt.

I brushed my ass length snow blonde hair out and I went down to the laundry room to wash my hoodie and some other clothes and I put them in the dryer when they were finished washing.

I then went back upstairs and I started my homework. The massive pile of it.

It didn’t really bother me. I got bored in the cabin a lot, so I did a lot more school work than what was expected of me.

When I was finished I was called down to dinner and I went downstairs and I found the dining room a lot easier than I had in previous days and when we sat down dad was at the head of the table and Sandra was sitting to his left. Leo was beside her so I sat to the right of dad.

Sandra and Leo were both glaring at me and I could see that Leo was still drunk from earlier. And knowing how hard it was for werewolves to get drunk, he and his friends must have hit it pretty hard after school because he got home not long after I did.

“Alright now. I know that there is a lot of tension in the house and it needs to stop.” Dad said to all of us.

“Well then, you need to do something about that little bitch over there.” Sandra said, looking at me.

“Shut up, Barbie.” I said. Her eyes grew wider as her anger was getting the better of her.

I knew that it was funny that I was calling her Barbie since I had really long blonde hair and blue eyes and pretty big boobs with a flat stomach. But she was the one that actually looked plastic.

“Alright. That’s enough. I’ve had it. If none of you can get along, then stay away from each other.” Dad ordered. And I was fine with that.

Our dinner was eventually brought out by the servers and dad, Sandra and Leo started digging into their food.

As soon as I finished eating I asked to be excused because I had more homework to do. And dad excused me from the table.

I went up to my room and straight into the bathroom where I turned the tap on and I wet my face slightly and I went back into my room and I sat at the desk for a little while.

I opened my laptop and started to do my homework, it was a lot for me to catch up. For I didn’t know how long I started to yawn, I shrugged my shoulders and rubbed my eyes, it’s almost midnight, I felt like the whole world was asleep and the moonlight filled my whole room along with the dim light from my screen, I looked out at the moon and stars in the sky

I wondered what mom is doing right now, I still remembered the devastated look on her face when dad told her that I was going to live with him from now on, it was just me and mom for the last 17 years, I should’ve been there for mom no matter what, but I was just so curious what it was like to have a father, who had been absent for my entire life. The first day wasn’t perfect, everyone treated me like I was some kind of monster, but dad, he was so nice and protective to me. All of a sudden my nose twitched and my vision started to get  blurry.

*********

Walking through the woods, outside of the cabin, I was running my hands along the branches and leaves that stuck out from the trees onto the trail that I was walking.

I heard something rustling in the bushes, and I stopped and turned my head slightly but it stopped. So I kept on walking.

Moments later, someone charged out of the woods and attacked me, but I spun around and grabbed them by the arm and used their own body weight to throw them over my shoulder and they landed on their back in front of me.

“You gotta do better than that mom.” I laughed.

“It’s good to see you learning.” She laughed as she got up.

“Come on. It’s my turn to make dinner.” I said as she put her arm around me and we started walking back towards the cabin.

I really like this book ! Love Ava and her more grounded personality. And yes...seems cliche' , but there Has to be More...Leo Is Weak. the step witch...has a rival, where her son is concerned... So...Why does Leo feel threatened.

When I finally climbed into bed that night I read a book for a little while before I finally fell asleep. When I woke up the following morning I dragged myself out of bed and I headed downstairs to get a coffee that I made myself, and I sat in the kitchen drinking it. Even when the breakfast staff came in to start cooking. They weren't used to seeing a member of the family there, but they were going to get used to the fact that I'm not like the others. When breakfast was served I ate in silence while Sandra made small talk with dad and Leo, deliberately not talking to me which I was completely fine with. And as soon as I was finished eating, I got up and went back to my room. I got changed into baggy torn jeans, a loose fitting t-shirt and a hoodie with sand shoes on. I put all of the books in my bag and I headed downstairs and straight out the front door without saying goodbye to anyone. I left the property and started walking towards the city. I always left early because it wa

I glanced up at everyone to see if there was anyone staring at me or playing with their phones. And a lot of them had their phones out, but they didn’t look suspicious to me. Not like they were sending cryptic messages to me or anything like that. But I wouldn’t know for sure who was sending me these messages. They could be pretending that it’s not them. I wasn’t sure if it was too much of a coincidence or not and I made sure that I kept my eye on everyone that was around me. My mother had always taught me to watch my surroundings. I didn’t think I would have to do so much of it here. But I guess I needed to watch my back more than ever now. By lunch time that day I went to my locker and I put my books in it and then I headed out the front of the school. I definitely wasn’t going to the cafeteria and I wanted to go somewhere where I knew that I could be alone. And I sat at the table out the front of the school. But I wasn’t alone for long. “Ava.” Someone said from beside me.

I started looking around frantically and I heard something in the distance. Footsteps that were slowly approaching us. I got a glimpse of the gun in a man’s hand who was walking directly towards us and I started to panic. My first thought was to run off and save myself, but then I saw Wesley laying there unconscious and I knew that I couldn’t leave him. I managed to pick him up and get him onto my back very awkwardly and I started trying to run through the woods. It was harder than I thought it would be with Wesley on my back and I knew that I wouldn’t be able to make it back to our clothes and the car like this. So I decided that I needed to find somewhere to hide. I started running in different directions and even backtrailed a couple of times, running around in circles so that man couldn’t catch up with us. I came to a rock formation and I got Wesley up on the rocks while I covered my tracks and got back to the rocks without leaving tracks in the dirt. A trick that my moth

When I arrived at school the next day, I saw that everything was back to normal. Well, my kind of normal. Everyone was staring at me and whispering about me while they were covering their mouths and whispering to their friends so that I couldn’t hear them. I just rolled my eyes, thinking that maybe they had learnt their lesson about pissing me off, but I guess not. Or I guess they just had something else to talk about today. It seemed to be going around though. I saw Leo walking past with a few of his friends, who seemed to have grown in size overnight. He didn’t have that many friends yesterday. But he was showing them something on his phone and when he saw me he made sure that they hushed their voices. I knew that he was behind this. He was doing something to make everyone hate me again. And I wish I could say that I was surprised. But I’m really not. I did think that people were going to start leaving me alone though. So, I put my things in my locker and I walked off towards the ba

As soon as the teacher arrived Wesley let go of me and he winked at me before he walked off to his class and I made it to my desk. During the whole lesson I was sitting there with my hood up, not looking around, although I could feel people looking at me. But I was too preoccupied by Wesley and that kiss and how he just grabbed me like that. The feel of his warm breath on my face and how soft his lips were. How gentle he was, considering how big he was, I wouldn’t have thought that werewolves would be that gentle while kissing someone. It took my breath away and now I couldn’t think of anything but what happened. I didn’t really want my first kiss to be like that, but I can’t say that I’m really disappointed. I really liked it, but it wasn’t how I imagined my first kiss would go. I tried to get it out of my head and I looked up towards the teacher and he was rattling on with stuff that just sounded like a blur to me. I couldn’t make out anything that he was saying at the momen

  • Her - The Alpha's Rebel   CHAPTER 9

I ran out the side gate of the house and I kept running until I was far enough away from the house that I knew they weren’t following me. But even then, I didn’t slow my pace. I kept running at a steady speed until I hit the highway and I was running along the highway. It was getting later in the afternoon and the chill in the air was getting more prominent. But I still had my big hoodie on and my boots. Plus I was running, so I wasn’t too concerned about the weather. The cold didn’t bother werewolves as much as it bothered humans. We had a hotter body temperature to them on any given day. So we were pretty fortunate like that. But when I decided that it was going to take me hours to get back to the cabin like this, I ran until I got to the woods. I got deep enough into the woods and I took my clothes off and I put my phone and wallet in my pocket and I shifted into my wolf. I then picked my clothes up in my mouth and I kept running through the woods. A lot faster than I would

When we got back to dad’s house I got Wesley to park the truck down the road, so no one saw him with me and I got out and started walking towards the house. But I heard his car door open and close as well. “Ava. Can we talk?” Wesley asked. “What about?” I asked, turning around to look at him. “About what happened today. I know that you’ve got a lot on your mind with your mother and everything. I just need to say what I have to say.” He said. “Alright.” I said. “I’m sorry about everything that I did today. I know that I shouldn’t have grabbed you like that, I shouldn’t have kissed you. I shouldn’t have done anything like that...” He explained, and I started looking down at my feet. “But I don’t regret it.” He added, and I quickly looked up at him. “You don’t?” I asked. “No. I wouldn’t have done it if I didn’t want to. I just know that I shouldn’t have done it in front of the entire class. And I’m sorry for that.” He said. “Why do you like me?” I asked. “Because I know

I was glad when school was over that day, Wesley met me at my locker and I saw Leo standing across the hall with his friends. I knew that he was pissed about all the attention that dad was giving me. He had been living with dad for a couple of years before I came into the picture and I know that he definitely thought that he was going to get the pack. I’m not even sure if Sandra and Leo knew about me before he brought me home. But dad was planning a coming out party to introduce me formally to his entire pack. It was going to be a huge affair and it was definitely not something that I was up for right now. I had way too much on my mind, but there was no getting out of it. Dad gave me his credit card this morning, something else that would have pissed Leo off, and he told me to buy whatever I wanted. Even if it wasn’t a party dress. Dad told me that I was still dressing like I was living in the woods, but that’s only because it’s comfortable to me. But then again, I wasn’t us

I got out of that car, taking the phone with me, and I got back in the car with Noah and Mason sped off down the highway again. "Are you fucking crazy? You scared the hell out of me." Noah yelled. "Well, I'm glad that I did it." I said, showing him the phone. "What about it?" "Leo just called to ask if I was dead. He set these bastards after me." I said. "Did you say anything?" Noah asked. "Only that I was going to fuck him up. I think he took me seriously." I said. "Probably. Since you just killed two men that were meant to kill you." Noah said. "Exactly." I smirked. "Don't fucking do that to me again." Noah said, pulling me closer to him. I knew that he needed me to be sitting near him just so he could calm down. It was the calming effect of the mate bond that he needed right now. I guess I must have really scared him. "I know that you are used to only thinking about yourself. But you can't do that anymore." Noah whispered as he inhaled my scent, right next to

Once we got Noah back to the cabin we had to pack up all of our things as fast as we could. If there were stealth warriors hanging around then there was a good chance that they had already made the call to tell their boss where we were. I'd never seen those men before, so I didn't know if they worked for dad or not. But we just knew that we needed to get out of there. We packed up the car in record time and got out of there as fast as possible. Noah and I were in the backseat while the other two were in the front seat. Noah had picked up the pieces of the necklace and he was examining it in the car. Trying to figure out what it was made of. It had to be something made of dark magic to take my memories the way that it did. "Any ideas?" I asked. "None. I don't have a clue about what this material is." He said. "Alright. Well, keep the pieces. Just in case." I said, holding out a ziplock bag for him to put them in. "Just in case what?" He asked. "Just in case I need to ha

As I was sitting on the ground staring at the ring, I was pulled out of it when Mason yelled at me and attacked the warriors that were approaching me. I tried to get to my feet, but I knew that I was really badly hurt right now. At least a few several broken ribs and a broken ankle. I saw Noah slowly getting to his feet and he had blood all over his face. He wasn't looking too good himself, but that didn't stop him from attacking the warriors that were coming near me. He was going to protect me with everything that he had. As the last warriors realized that he was the only one left standing. The only one left alive, he took one last effort to lunge at me but was grabbed my Noah who had extended his claws and ripped the warriors throat out. Dropping his dead body on the ground. Noah ran over to me and kneeled down in front of me. "Ava." He said, looking me over. Seeing that I was badly hurt. But I was staring at him like he wasn't even there. I got up out of bed and I looked out the window at the moon that was shining brightly right into my bedroom and I was more confused than ever. If my mother wasn't actually my mother, then what happened to her. Noah mentioned knowing my mother at one point. Now I need to know exactly everything that he knew about her. I got changed into a grey sweater, tights, socks and sand shoes. I left the house and I started jogging around the lake, trying to clear my head. I was running through the woods, dodging the branches, jumping over the ones that were on the ground, it was almost like an obsticle course. Usually something like this was really enjoyable to me, but today it wasn't. I don't know why. There was something going on with me that I couldn't explain. Something that felt strange and foreign. I hated this feeling and I just kept running until I didn't feel like this anymore. But the problem was, the feeling was going away. And by the time I was passing the house for the fourth ti

Knowing the lengths that my father was going to in order to get me back, made me realize that he was more desperate to get me back than I thought. And Noah was determined that it was because he had an agreement with Elias, or he was in Elias’ debt or something like that. Either way, he only wanted me so he could trade me to an Alpha that was going to use me for whatever the hell he wanted. And Noah was damn sure he wasn’t going to let that happen. I was just upset that we had dragged Jax and Mason into this, but they said that they wouldn’t have it any other way. They were going to be beside Noah’s side, no matter what. Even if they were now labelled as kidnappers. That still didn’t make me feel any better. But I had to try and get my head straight. I had to find out what Wesley and his family wanted with me and I needed to find out who my real mother was. It seemed like Isabella Matthews never even existed. Everything about her was just erased to make it look like she was never th

We had no idea where the hell we were going. We just needed to get the hell out of the city. We didn’t know how many allies my father had so Noah was behind the wheel of the car and he took all the side streets until we finally hit the highway and we kept on going. I was sitting in the front with Noah while the other two were chatting in the backseat. “So, if Elias is your father then does that mean you are next in line to his pack?” I asked. “Not anymore. He disowned me when I said that I wasn’t going to go ahead with his plan to kidnap you.” Noah said. “But you didn’t know that I was your mate back then. Why would you not want to do it?” I asked. “Because I saw what he did to your mother. I wasn’t going to let him do it to another girl.” He said. “So, the sadistic Alpha raised a son with morals. That’s unusual.” I said. “Yeah. We need to find somewhere to hold up where they won’t think to look.” Noah said. “I don’t know my dad that well. So, I don’t know where he will think

I snuck back up to my room once I was finished in the office and I made sure that there was no trace of me in the office. And I definitely printed out those correspondences from dad to Elias. I went back up to my room and I paced around for a little while before I sat at my desk and I turned on my own computer. I started researching Elias. But the only thing I could find was all the praise that he was getting in the human world for all the good deeds that he had done for people. All the charities that he was involved with and the schools that he donated money to in poverty stricken neighborhoods. He looked like a real saint on paper, but that was about it. There was nothing in the press to make him look bad. He was never caught up in a scandal. So I typed in my father’s name and he wasn’t in as many articles but they were just as clean as Elias. These men were really careful to keep their true selves hidden. They definitely didn’t want anyone to see what they were really lik

Noah and I sat at the table talking for ages, but I knew the reality of the situation. I knew that I needed to get home. Before my dad realized that I was gone. My phone started ringing and I saw that it was Wesley, but I ignored it. I then sent him a message and told him that dad had me doing some pack work and I couldn’t talk to him now. I didn’t know how I was going to handle the whole Wesley situation, but I knew that I needed to keep it close to the vest. I couldn’t let anyone, except Noah, know what I know. There was too much at stake. Noah drove me home but he stopped down the road so the camera’s and guards didn’t pick up his car or anything like that. “Will you be alright sneaking back in?” He asked. “Yeah. I’ll be fine. I’ve done it heaps of times.” I said. “Alright. Listen, it would be best if Wesley doesn’t suspect anything right now.” He said. “I know. Same with dad and Sandra. I won’t tell them anything.” I said. “Alright. I know that this is hard. And I

As soon as I had heard enough from Wesley and his parents, I left their house and I started walking around the city aimlessly. I didn’t know where I was going or what I was doing. Not until I realized that I was standing outside the hotel that Noah was staying in. I stood there staring at the building. Still not moving. Like I was in shock. “Ava.” Someone said, walking up beside me. I turned my head and Jax was there. “Hello counselor.” I said. “Noah already messaged me and told me that you know the truth. Are you alright?” He asked. “I don’t know.” I said. “Come inside.” He said. But I shook my head. “I’m not leaving you out here alone. Come on.” He said. So he took me inside the hotel and up to their penthouse suite. He opened the door and I saw another man sitting on the couch drinking a beer. But as soon as he saw me walk in, he jumped up really suddenly and started acting really weird. “Ava. This is our weirdo friend Mason. And now you see why I was asked to be yo
