Chapter 3 The Betrayal

Samarah's Pov

The next morning, I woke up before the alarm rang to prevent Thalia from kicking her again just the way she did to me yesterday.

I went to the kitchen and started to prepare breakfast while humming.

I couldn't wait for my mate to appear and for my transformation later! I'm looking forward to it!

The corner of my lips raised as I continued to hum while frying a ham. Part of me hoped that Alpha Havoc would be my mate.

After all, there is no one in this world who is gentle and kind towards me other than him.

"What are you humming about? Hah! You must be dreaming that you will be paired with an Alpha."

I paused and glanced at Thalia who had just woken up, and her eyes were looking at me with disgust while leaning on the wall.

"T-Thalia... the breakfast isn't prepared yet..." I softly said, ignoring her contempt remarks.

However, I thought that it would divert her attention, yet instead, she insulted me even more.

Thalia looked at me from up to down and let out a mocking laugh. "Whoever was chosen to be your mate would be their diminished. What an unlucky guy to be chosen as your mate."

I froze and couldn't help biting my lower lip. How could she be so horrible!

'Don't listen to her. Anyway, you will find out who's your mate later and that is worth rejoicing in enjoying. After all, mates are supposed to love, respect, and protect each other.' My wolf consoled, enlightening me.

I took a deep breath and ignored her insults. My wolf is right, I will find my mate later, so there's no point in me listening to her mocks.

I gave her a polite smile and put all the dishes on the table. "I'm done, you can eat now."

Thalia sneered and sat on the chair as she started eating, but before she ate, she uttered, "Well, anyway, I'm guessing that your mate is an omega. It would be shocking if you got chosen by an Alpha. After all, you aren't suited to be with an Alpha."

After she said that, she started eating.

I couldn't help but secretly roll my eyes after hearing her words and choose to ignore it anyway.

I went upstairs and did my morning routine with a lightened heart and filled with anticipation for what would happen later.

After I took my bag, I went downstairs and saw that Thalia had finished her breakfast. I also ate before I cleaned the kitchen, washed the dishes and left the house with excitement.

This time, I wasn't late for class since I woke up early and went to school before the class started, so I wasn't that unlucky to be subjected to such humiliation.

Am I getting lucky today?

Everything was going smoothly when I woke up and my heart beat fast from excitement. It seemed that all my luck had been consumed to be used today.

This will be the day that I will find my mate. The mate that I will spend my lifetime with and the mate that might save me from my hellish so-called 'family'.

"Take a look at that ugly freak. She had been smiling the whole time. Is she sick in the head?" I heard one of my classmates loudly say, making everyone look at me.

However, I didn't mind their petty tricks in trying to humiliate me. Nothing can ruin my mood for today.

"I'm guessing that it might be because Thalia isn't here." One of my classmates had answered.

Well, partly that's the reason why I'm smiling right now. After all, Thalia was the only one who would make my day ruined and would love to see me embarrass myself, so after seeing that she didn't show up in the same class, I felt relieved.

Relieved enough to not care about their insults and ignore their mockery.

I waited for the class to end before I went to the restroom, since nature had been calling me.

However, when I stepped on my foot in the restroom, I felt my heart race and my cheeks felt hot.

'Mate! Our mate is near!' I heard my wolf exclaim in excitement.

I couldn't help but feel excited.

I happily entered the room and tried to scent my mate when suddenly I heard a familiar voice that made me pause.

"Ahh... Havoc... hmm... faster..."

My heart fell. I could hardly even breathe when I saw the two people who were embracing each other, kissing wildly while the person in charge was thrusting in and out.

I felt a strong pain penetrate my heart that almost made me breathless.

However, I saw the person who was making love with Thalia abruptly stop, and our eyes happened to meet.

I staggered and moved backwards while looking at them.

I watched as Havoc immediately dressed up and coldly glanced at me. "What are you doing here?"

"You are my mate, Havoc. Our bond led me here..." I softly said with blurry eyes as I felt a strong rejection in my heart.

I thought that Havoc would accept me after knowing that I was her mate, but, he didn't.

He uttered the next word that made me crumble into pieces.

"I, Havoc Wilsey from the Wilsey Pack, reject you, Samarah Colleen, as my mate. Don't let me see your face ever again." He coldly uttered, making my breath hitch.

With tears had blurred my vision and my whole body was trembling, I looked at Havoc, who was clearly different from the Havoc that I fell for.

I bit my lower lip really so hard that I could taste the metallic. I don't know where I got the courage to ask him, but I know that if I didn't ask him, I wouldn't know.

"Why? Why did you reject me as your mate, Alpha Havoc?"

I gazed at Havoc, who coldly looked at me and answered nonchalantly. "You're weak. I wouldn't want a weak mate.*

Suddenly, Thalia, my stepsister, interrupted with a mocking laugh while looking at me as she finished dressing up.

"Why are you surprised? I told you, there is no one who would accept you as their mate. You're just too delusional to think that Havoc would accept you as his mate." Thalia snickered as she leaned her body onto Havoc while looking at me with a provocative smile.

I gritted my teeth and looked at Havoc, who was coldly looking at me with no other expression on his face. I couldn't help but feel ridiculous.

With a bleeding heart, I uttered the words that I know, words I might regret later, but since it is what he wished for, I'll do it.

"I, Samarah Colleen, accepted Alpha Havoc's rejection and swear to never appear in front of him."

With tears that kept on falling from my eyes as I made my oath, I turned my back and left with a throbbing sensation around my heart.

I could even hear my stepsister's taunting laugh and was happy upon seeing me devastated.

Since there is no mate that can save me from this hell, I'll save myself instead.

I went back to the home that serves as my cage that clips my wings, and took my mother's keepsake as well as my savings jar.

Since my father had long-lost his love for me, I doubt that he would care even if he found my corpse one day.

After getting my things, I left with no turning back.

'Are we going to return here one day?' I could hear the low energy of my wolf as she asked.

I pursed my lips and ran as fast as I could. "There's no one who is waiting for our return. In fact, they are in a hurry to get rid of us."

I won't return to this pack ever again.

As I reached the border, I heard the cracking sound of my bones that made me pause as I screamed from pain when all of my bones had been cracked.

Despite the pain, a broad smile flashed on my lips as I watched my reflection on the bright lake that had been hit by the moonlight.

I watched myself transformed into a pure white wolf.

"Arghh—Awoo!"

Soon, the scream I uttered had changed to a loud howl.

I couldn't help but admire my new form and howled again.

It felt like I'd been rebirthed. I can't wait to try out my new form.

When I was about to move, my eyes happened to meet with the three Alpha wolves. The smile on my lips had disappeared as I bared my teeth while raising my guard, looking at them with caution.
