Mark’s POV
My claws kept digging into the ground as I bared my teeth at the tree like it had offended me. After running around the woods for so long, I needed something to keep me distracted. So I chose to dig the root of a tree. It is stupid, but it sure does the work.
I have no bloody idea of what is going on in Kate’s head. It’s as if she is hellbent on ruining what we have shared for months. Damn, that crazy Rayna too who doesn’t know when to stay away. I sort of hate my life right now. Nothing is going the way I want it.

Kate’s POVIt’s always chilly when one steps out for a run in the woods early morning. I had my teeth gnashed together as I raced through it. My body needed the reset after two days of rough sleep. Despite Karen’s presence in the house, I can still feel Mark’s absence. For some reason, I hoped he would follow suit after we left, but I guess he doesn’t have much to return to here. He probably would send someone over to come get his things as they have all been boxed. I halted in the middle of the race, bending to the ground. Why do I feel so heavy-hearted? Putting an end to things between us is for my own good. I have almost lost my mind in the bid to put a call through to him and d
Kate’s POVMaybe I should have arrived at work earlier. Chaos seemed to have ensued while I was away. I met Lois looking furious and blowing hot at Lance. “What is going on?” I asked putting my bag down. Lois sucked his teeth, ruffling his hair. “You won’t believe the contract we were supposed to take on has been canceled. ““How is that possible, Lance?” I turned to the CEO.
Mark’s POVAnxiety got a grip hold on my mind. I kept adjusting on the chair while my eyes lingered on the door. I had arrived at the Redmoon to get my things when I knew Kate would be at work. After sending them off, it dawned on me that I couldn’t just leave without having a word with Kate. Thinking through our conversations for days, I just had to conclude that it doesn’t have to end like that between us. We can work something out. Being myself would be a hard task knowing she is still out of my reach. Kate didn’t respond to the text I sent her, not even the restaurant address. But I came anyway, hoping she would too. Because I do remember how I had acted the last time and no one in t
Kate’s POVMy wolf purred at the beautiful sight in front of us. I woke up next to Mark and my heart felt warm. Dinner last night felt so good. Karen was the most delighted to know that we were back on talking terms. We had slept separately at first before Karen came to my room to whisper to me to go sleep next to him. Smiling to myself, I caressed his hair. As I made a move to leave, he pulled me back into his chest. “Where are you going?” He asked with his eyes partially closed. I giggled, placing both of my hands on his chest. “I need to go get ready for work. Aren&rsquo
Mark’s POV“Hey, Mark. I am making dinner with Lois, it will be ready soon.” Kate said kissing my cheek. “Okay, baby. I will just take a walk around the house.” I replied. She nodded in response and went back in. I haven’t been able to sit since we returned from touring Kate’s favorite places in the pack. Lois joined us along the way for dinner since I am due to leave tomorrow finally. Inhaling deeply, I walked towards the shed where I always painted. I would miss this house that had provided me with solace for the past year. Something I didn’t think I wou

Nothing is going the way I want it. The words I blurted out to Kate weren’t something that I intended to do. However, it came out and she took it seriously. This morning she left with, Lois and Karen back to the Redmoon pack. Like a moron, I just sat there on the couch watching everything unfold in front of me. And now I am here taking my frustration out on a tree that knows nothing. My wolf growled in complaint and I could feel Carl trying to communicate with me through the mind portal. They mi

Kate’s POVLike a lost cause, I sat in the midst of my crazy friends while they had a good laugh over my situation. I should have just kept my mouth shut, but then it was a hard thing to do. I was worried they must have seen the videos from the restaurant. Since there isn’t much respect for privacy anymore, it doesn’t take long to see one’s embarrassing moment on the web. Surprisingly, there isn’t any that has me in it yet. Karen almost choked on her laughter. “I still can’t believe you had to experience that.” I snorted, chewing on my popcorn. “Well
Kate’s POV“This place is really nice. Makes me feel some sort of strange warmth.” I said, glancing around the restaurant. If there is one thing that I have learned about Charles. He is good at picking the most amazing restaurants. I leave with a retained memory of coming back to experience their amazing meals. Charles grinned proudly. “I love how you compliment my choice of restaurant every time. Makes me want to keep impressing you.” He said. I chuckled, trying to hide the blush creeping up my face. “I am quite impressed, no lies. So what are we having today.”
Author’s POVLance’s claws sank into the wheel tightly while his wolf growled viciously as he made the sharp turn into the road that led directly to the packhouse. His mind was racing and he wanted to get to his destination as soon as possible. Every time he tries to give Dame a benefit of doubt, he always disappoints him in the most unexpected way. He was ready to leave the life he had known for decades to start afresh in an unknown place just so everything he did with Dame wouldn’t come back to bite them in the face. He wanted to take all the blame and move on. Tears pricked at the back of his eyes. All he has ever done was to love his friend deeply. Despite everything being said about Dame, he stood with him the longest. That was the only friend he was close to. But Dame never saw how precious what they shared was. Instead, he always sought out a chance to make a mockery of it. Which is why Lance is determined to put a stop to it. The guards at the gate didn’t try to question hi
Kate’s POV“You are resigning?” I uttered with my eyes glued to the laptop screen. Lance muttered, “I just think it is time I step back from all this.” I leaned back into the chair, folding my arms. “I have a strong belief that your decision didn’t stem from nothing. Please sit.” I urged. He sat down gingerly, I can tell only half of his butt was on the chair. “Believe me, ma’am. There is nothing to tell, you will only be disappointed.&
Kate’s POVShifting at night and running through the woods can be exhilarating. The moon shining and the crickets doing what they know best just put me in the best of moods. After a long day at work, it helps relieve all the knots I must have piled up throughout the day. It didn’t take long before I returned to the house. Paid less attention to Karen who was in a corner of the living room sowing. I got into my shower, showered, and got dressed in one of Mark’s shirts that I stole from him. Feels super comfy and has his smell in it. It reminded me of him so I decided to put a video call through. “Hey, baby.” His voice came alive. I blushed at how handsome he looked, relaxing outside the house with his arm over his head. “Hi. Are you by the pool?” “Yeah, thought to enjoy some air. Carl is also here making my life miserable. How are you? Looking fresh.” He commented. “Well, I just had my bath after running in the woods. And now I am feeling comfortable in your shirt.” I drawled wigg
Kate’s POV“You are toying on a dangerous route.” My wolf warned. I shut her voice out as I texted Charles back, saying I would love to have lunch with him and watch movies afterward tomorrow. Calming Mark felt easy as I had taken my time to listen to him. I really have no plans to leave Mark for the sake of Charles. Something about him, Charles, doesn’t seem right yet, and I intend to find out. Letting everyone’s opinion lay to sleep, I went into my closet to check for something to wear, but nothing seemed appealing. So I went to raid Karen’s instead, she had her head deep in her drawing boo
Mark’s POVMy wolf almost tripped over a broken tree branch. The unexpected occurrence made me stagger a bit. Getting a grip on myself, I jumped past it and kept running. Kate has taken a different turn in her attitude, and it bothers me. I was on the verge of taking the plane down to the Redmoon pack this morning when I called her, and she didn’t respond. I expected she would call back, but when she didn’t, I had to text Karen to be sure everything was okay. When she eventually answered, one could tell the distraction in her voice, and it didn’t sit well with me at all. We have been going back and forth this way for a few weeks now. I am tempted to think she might have lost interest in
Mark’s POV“Someone looks like she had the best time of her life.” I teased Marilyn as she walked into the house looking radiant. “Welcome Marilyn.” Carl waved at her with a pen in hand. He is finally getting to sketch bit by bit. Marilyn giggled, dropping onto the couch as she took off her heels. “How are you boys doing?” “We are good,” I replied. “So how was your date with Logan?”
Author’s POVKaren nudged Kate on the side to say something to Lois who had his eyes glued to the television screen blankly. “Can you stop poking me?” Kate glared at her. “Bianca would be here anytime soon, can you just inform him to get him prepared?” Karen mused anxiously, she seemed to be regretting her decision to help the couple settle their dispute. Kate smacked her forehead, groaning. “Why don’t you just tell him yourself? Why do I have to get dra
