GRATEFUL

“You have always known.” I say more to myself than to him.

He sighs and wipes his face with his hand.

“Why don't we go downstairs together, eat and then talk about it?”

I take a another look at the room filled with hundreds of drawings and sketches of me.

“I can’t believe you always knew about it.”

“Is it a bad thing that I knew?”

“Is that why you paid for me exclusively?”

He shrugs,

“Yes.”

“Why didn’t you say something? All those hours we spent alone together..”

He gestured with his hand for a bit and then dropped it.

“I don’t know. I didn’t know how you were going to react I guess. Plus, that was my favourite part of the day, if you had stopped it for any reason..”

I nod in understanding, I knew what he meant by favourite part of the day. I looked forward to our sessions together all day as well.

“I was very happy the day you talked to me for the first time.” He chuckles to himself.
