Henry’s POV
Ora Martinez looked just the way she did in our video chats. She had smooth brown skin, brown curly hair framing the sides of her beautiful face. Her brown eyes were bewitching, even more now that I could see her closer. She wore a bright, charming smile on her face.
“Josh!” She squealed and hugged me. “I’m so happy to see you.”
“I’m happy to see you too, Ora.” I told her. It was not a lie. She was a means to an end and I really needed her. I was happy that I had met someone who would help me get my Lena back in my arms. Thinking of Lena made me hug Ora tighter as I wished it was the other woman, who I longed for badly. As expected, Ora thought this was about her and I could imagine the joy she was feeling.
“Can we go in now?” I asked when she made no attempt to let me go. I did not want to be seen out there hugging her forever. Ora stepped outside and rolled my suitcase in as I entered
49.“Carla?”It was her. In my house. For almost a year Carla Jennings, the woman who used to be desperately in love with Noah had been away from south bend. From what I heard, she was so heartbroken by Noah’s marriage to another woman she had decided to leave so that she could heal from the wounds caused by it. I did feel bad for her and hoped she would get alright. After sometime, she was forgotten. I never really ever thought about her as she had not had such a big impact on my life. Now, here she was. In my house. I had heard the doorbell a minute ago but that was not why I had come downstairs. I was returning Ava’s feeding bottle, having left her
Chapter 50 Lena’s POVFortunately, the Carla incident did not have long lasting consequences. When she left that day, Noah and I decided we wouldn’t bring it up ever again unless there was an important reason for it. In all honesty, I couldn’t help but wonder if he was right about Carla’s change. Either she had really changed or become a very good actress. She did not seem intent on causing trouble between Noah and I but instead wa
Another nightmare. This time there was no Noah to save or calm me down after having an even worse dream than the one I had had before about Ava. This time, there was nothing paranormal as it had been before. This was as real as it could get. There had been a masked man, holding a knife over Ava’s head. He had threatened to kill her if I did not do something. That “something” was an action he claimed to have told me about before but in the dream, I couldn’t remember however much I tried to rack my brains. Because of that, he was going to kill her and all I had been able to do was scream which hadn’t helped much.As I drank some water in the kitchen, I thought about Jenny an
