As Lucia was about to leave the hospital, auntie Pam decided to walk her out.

" auntie Pam, there's no need to. I can go on my own."

" who says am walking you all the way to the hospital gates. Besides, that's a form of excise. " auntie Pam said as she held arms with Lucia and walked out.

As soon as they stepped out, they met a group of doctors and nurses just infront of Pablo's ward about to enter the as well.

" what..."

Lucia recognized the person in front. It was doctor Gabby whom she had spoken to not long ago. She looked at the group of people in shock and frowned slightly. “You…”

" Doctor Gabby, what's wrong? Is something the matter?"

“ Ms Lucia, we are here to transfer Pablo to a single ward.” He was very polite and even respectful. Though he has always been, this attitude is way beyond polite. It's like being reverend.

Something surely wasn't right. And she didn't make such arrangements.

" transfer? Why? ”It seems that Mr Carlvastan already knew about her break up with Johnny.

He had been unwilling to treat Pablo initially. He thought that it was a waste to spend money on treating his a disease which will end up killing him anyway. His blood type is just as difficult to find as his mother. But since she was engaged to Johnny, he didn’t dare to make a big fuss.Now that she and Johnny had broken up, naturally, he didn’t have to worry about anything anymore.This was what reality looked like.Lucia felt both angry and sad. Sometimes, she really doubted whether she and Pablo had been adopted from outside, and that Renata was Mr Carlvastan's real daughter.Doctor Gabby said, " We will transfer Pablo to the VIP ward immediately, and then arrange the most professional medical team to treat him.” After speaking, he turned to the nurses behind him . “Hurry and send him to the VIP ward.” Then he turned back to Lucia. " Miss Lucia, please come this way with me." Lucia didn’t expect this outcome. Her eyes widened in surprise and she stared at the doctor.

What was happening? They were being moved. And to a VIP ward too. This was too good to be true.

As they moved away from the crowd, Lucia asked the doct again. " doctor Gabby, please why are you moving my brother to a VIP ward all of a sudden?"

Miss Lucia, do you by any chance know our hospital's director?" doctor Gabby asked.

Even he was surprised to have gotten a call directly from the director. He was even wondering if he's about to he fired. Then the director said the hospital is setting up a cancer foundation. And that it's starting with Pablo Calvastan. He was shocked!

How did the direct know Pablo. So he was suspecting that maybe Lucia knew the direct instead. Because it wouldn't make sense that Pablo knew him, would it?

Lucia was puzzled as to why the doctor would be asking her this kind of question.

" No... why is doctor Gabby asking me this question?

" or does it have anything to do with my brother moving into a single ward?"

Doctor Gabby nodded. " the director called me as soon as you left the office, saying that he's setting up a cancer foundation. And he asked me specifically to put Pablo's name on the list."

So Miss Acosta, the hospital is going to be responsible for every expenses of Pablo from now on. The only thing left is the blood. But he said not to worry, and that he'd make sure to secure one as soon as possible."

" Latest by tomorrow."

Lucia's mouth kept opening as she heard all that the doctor said. What's going on? Who is this hospital's director that she has never met?

After a few seconds of being in a daze, she asked " so doctor, you're saying that my brother..." She didn't even know how and what to say. This is too good to be true.

Doctor Gabby looked at how astonished she looked and smiled. Even he was shocked, talk much less Lucia.

" Miss Acosta, don't worry. This is a legitimate foundation from this hospital. Actually, it's been active for a while now, they were just working with the psychiatric department. He decided to extend it to oncology department. "

With that he followed the nurses as the pushed Pablo into the elevator.

Even after they pushed Pablo into his new ward, Lucia was still not out of it yet.

Pablo's new ward had two beds, one for the patient and the other one for the patient's guardian.There was a bedroom, a living room, a kitchen and a bathroom in the ward, so he wouldn't need to que up just to take a bath with the other patients like in his previous ward. It could be described as fully equipped. Opening the windows, a large green scenery could be seen outside. The smell of sterilizing water did not permeate the air, instead a faint pleasant fragrance filled your nostrils as you breath in.

After Pablo was settled in and all the nurses left, he looked at his sister who was in and out of it and knew that this wasn't her doing.

He waited for everyone to leave, then he asked the one question that was bothering him. “Sister, what’s going on?”

On who's instructions was I moved into this ward? Was this arrangement made by brother Jonny?” He asked a string of questions in a row.

Lucia looked at him and sighed. With all this helterskelter going on since she came in, she has not been able to tell Pablo about what's happened between her and Jonny. She wasn't planning on telling him now, as his health was unstable. But she has to, now that it has gotten to this. She didn't know who this director behind all this was, or his motive. But she will soon find out. And then after everything is cleared, she can talk to Pablo about Jonny.

With this thought, she smiled and said " Yes... the doctor told me just now. "

" it's part of the foundation's new policy. "

Pablo looked at Lucia for a while, then said " okay" I hope everything is fine between you two. Sis, if he hurts you let me know. I'll go and beat him up for you. "

Lucia laughed hearing him say that.

Though Pablo was just in middle school, he acted more matured than his peers of the same age. Sometimes he's so matured that it hurts to see him like that.

She remembers one time when Pablo was in grade 3, there was this camping that the school organized for his class. Knowing fully well that there was no way their father was going to foot the bill, he feigned sickness just to be given permission to not go.

When Lucia found out and asked him why, he snorted and said" what's so good about some camping. I like being with sis more. At least I wouldn't have to hear about those same lame ghost stories from the teacher again. " With that he turned and entered his room. Watching his lonely back told Lucia otherwise.

Since then she promised herself to make sure that he lives a normal life like his age mates.

After all, he is her only kin.
