chapter 4

**AUTHOR’S POV**

“Grace , please talk to Brennon . Please think about it again” Grace smiled at her friend and shake her head.

“ No scarlet I have made my mind. And don't worry about Brennon ) ,he will be happy to have this child,he won't oppose me in this. I am sure he will be happy after having this gem”.

Grace said, caressing her stomach as shefali sighed sadly and handed her the papers. Taking a deep breath, grace signed the papers.

“ Don't tell anyone about this. No one no one means, not even Riggs . Promise me”. Scarlet nodded as she was helpless and even if she tried again, she has no say in this matter.

It’s her own decision and even after Scarlets so much pursuing, she is still taking this step. Scarlet can't say anything in this matter. This is their personal matter, and she can only advise as a professional doctor.

Scarlet knew Grace love for Brennon was incredible. Even after all the cold treatment and unloved behavior, he had given her, she still loves him more than anything.

Brennon had a childhood fiancée. He was in love with her even when he was just a child. He always considered her to be his wife and loved her more than anything.

But his heart and belief in love broke down when his fiancé broke the engagement and told him that she is in love with someone else.

She was a respectful woman, so she thought breaking engagement will be good rather than cheat on her fiancée. After breaking the engagement, she married the love of her life.

That was the time when Brennon got depressed. He couldn’t accept the fact that the same girl whom he loved as his whole left him in a blink.

After a year of crying over her. He turned into a cold and emotionless man. He started feeling empty. Furthermore, he drowned himself in work and only work.

But his mother had enough of him being lifeless, she met with her friend's daughter only once which was Grace. She like Grace instantly the first time she met her. Grace was only 20 when she met Brennon mother. Brennon mother never like his ex fiancé as she never cared about her son.

Although after th3 cancellation of marriage, she asked Grace hand from her mother for Brennon . As Grace mother knew about her daughter crush on Brennon , she accepted immediately.

Grace always adored Brennon . They went to the same school, and she always respected his gentle attitude. She fell in love with him when he protected her from bullies in school.

And treated her with softness.

But after school, she never met him again. She was shocked that he will be her husband. She was so happy and delighted that her first love will be her husband.

Grace never had a boyfriend or lover. She is a simple girl with beautiful face and little attitude. Nonetheless, when Brennon told her not to expect anything from him, she was confused about what happened to him that change him so much.

His mother explained everything to shehnaaz about his ex fiancée. Grace felt heartbroken for him and think that maybe he didn't want her.

Although after talking to his mother, she made her mind that she will at least try to erase his pain. Possibly one day he starts to adore her the way she does.

After marriage, they didn't interact much. They took full time to be comfortable with each other. She told him from the first day that she loves him, but he gave her answer only in silence.

After six months of marriage, Brennon started to get attracted to her. He took this attraction as lust and desires only. He accepted the fact that he wanted her, as he was sexually attracted to her.

And finally one night he did what he wanted to do for so long. After coming home late, Grace was worried about him, and they had a small argument about it which end up in a hot make out session.

He took her to his bed and said few words. “ I can’t control anymore, let me have you”. Grace also wanted to touch him, having a great effect on her, she gave herself to him.

She reminded herself that with time being, everything will be fine. That maybe one day he would give her answered to her unconditional love.

But now her every hope had ended. She would rather not keep on reminding herself that with time everything will be better.

That with time he can be better.

She has accepted that he doesn't feel anything towards her. Not to everyone, but only his child. If this child can be the reason for his happiness and smile, then she was ready to sacrifice everything for him.

Entering the house, she sighed and looked at the maid's line which Brennon has appointed for her, actually for their baby.

“ You all can do your work except cooking. I will make breakfast, lunch and dinner, if I want help I will ask you. Now you can get to work” instructed Grace.

They bowed at her and started their work. Grace never liked when someone cooks for her except her mother.

She was taught from childhood to do her work instead of relaying on maids and servant. For baby's safety, she decided to let them work.

But cooking was the only thing which she can never give to someone else. Preparing a dinner, she was about to wait for Brennon , but then she realized that she will act upon the decision which she has made.

She took her food and ate it silently. After eating dinner, she washed her dishes and was going towards her room when Brennon entered with a tired face.

Without greeting or saying anything to him, she warm the food and placed it on the table in front of him

“ Why are you working? Where are the maids?” Brennon said after sitting on the chair after freshen up and changed his clothes.

“ It's 10 pm and their work ends at 8pm”.after serving the food, she started to walk away, leaving him surprised and astonished at her behaviour.

“ Where are you going?? Aren't you going to have your food?”. His cold voice without any ounce of care reached her ear and she halt on her steps. She never turn around to face him but answered..

“ I already ate, I am going to sleep now, goodnight.” saying, so she walks towards their room. Not even looking back at him once. Her behaviour was confusing him

Brennon frowned at her cold behavior. She never misses eating with him before. Every so often, when he would come late, she would wait for him without eating anything.

Brennon convinced himself that she might be doing it for the baby. But without him realizing, he didn't enjoy his food. He felt his appetite fading away. He was about to go behind her but think otherwise and ate silently.

He was used to feeling her presence around him. Furthermore, he was used to hearing her talking during their dinner. However, right now, he felt empty. She would always talk about one thing or another thing and he was habitual to her talking but now he feels nothing when he is alone.

After eating the non-appetising food, he went to his room. After freshening up, he laid on the bed the way he used to. Closing his eyes and pretending to sleep.

Grace entered the room and laid under the heavy duvet. She stared at his face for a few minutes then sigh and turn around facing him his back and didn’t let her emotions rule her. Today was the second time she didn't hug him or force him to hug her.

After a good amount of pretending he opened his eyes and looked at her back dumbfounded. This was the second time she didn't hug him. Because now she was preparing herself to be away from him and to be less hurt.

Brennon felt empty and weird after being ignored by her. But what left him more shocked was the words she never forgot to tell him before sleeping.

“ She didn't say I love you to me”

**he made her feel unwanted now her ignorance made him feel empty. Nevertheless, why? He also doesn't know.**
