chapter 2

**AUTHOR’S POV***

Unfolding her eyes she met with an empty bed making her sigh in disappointment. Maybe it was not good for her to expect too much from her husband. But it was not only her, but everyone dreams to wake up the next morning in the arms of her loved one after their beautiful night. Only if her dream was ever going to come true.

She gave him everything. Her time. Her peace. Not only that, but her body. Likewise, her soul. Her heart. She let him rule over her without demanding anything in return, but now she feels nothing, only emptiness. Perhaps this is her fate. Maybe she was expecting too much in return of her love, she is giving him. She has sacrificed everything for this man only to get emptiness.

She wanted to be loved. For once, she wanted his care for her. She wanted to hear those words which he expects hearing from her. Is it so hard to love her or to forget about his past?? Will she ever make her place in his cold heart?? Will she ever get the love which she desired from the man she love with all her being.?

But he just keeps holding on to the things which happened in the past and not moving on in the present. She gave him her love, still he is not ready to love her, even after 3 years of their marriage. She wonders if he will ever be ready even after 5 or 10 years of their married life to love her.? She has too many questions but how to ask him when he is not talking to her only fulfilly his desiresa and responsibility. But is it not his responsibility to live her?

Coming back from her thoughts, she cleaned the room and set her dressing table accordingly. After taking a hot and relaxing bath, she remembered that she has to visit her friend's house. Her friend is her biggest support right now.

Her friend is a doctor and from the past week she is feeling weirdly nauseous. She looked around, but a sad sigh escaped her lips after realizing he is not there. Filling her husband needs is now a routine for her, which she can't ignore. But she was expecting a little bit humanity from him. He was treating her like a one night stand every night.

He almost every night sleeps with her and she being a submissive gave into his demands. She is now feeling weak also. She does not know, how will she cop up with him and for how long. She always feel envious whenever she looked at a happy couple. She always wished that one day, maybe one day she will have that. But alas! It never happened.

Reaching to her friend house, she smiled at her best friend scarlet who is also a doctor. She hugged Grace, she forced her inside the house and asked her to set on the couch, so she could bring something to drink.

"Hey Grace” came a manly voice which belongs to her friend's husband smiling at her.

“ Hello riggs, how are you?? How do you handle this stubborn girl??” he made an irritated face, seeing shafali in the living room with suspicious eyes while Grace giggles a little.

“ Grace , how many times do I need to tell you not to talk about my wife” said Riggs kissing her head as Grace raise her hands in surrender even though he himself complains about her.

Scarlet smacked his head, pulling away from his embrace and putting the tray on the table" you shouldn't be the one saying this, egg head”. Scarlet was so happy with her husband, it can be seen through their gestures. They both are so much in love with one another.

Riggs sighed and kissed her forehead one last time before heading out as he has to reach his office. Grace felt so envious and happy for her dear friend, who also deserved happiness in her life. She sighed and shook her head, she is not here to feel anything about anyone. She is here for herself.

Scarlet and Riggs marriage was also arranged but with the time, they both fell in love with each other. Riggs did had a girlfriend, but she left him when her parents found a suitable man for her. She didn't fight for them.

Riggs was heartbroken but after marrying Scarlet he slowly slowly started to accept her, and finally, she won his love and heart after one year. She was ready to leave him for her own self respect, but riggs prove himself to be worthy of her

Scarlet is a doctor, and they don't have babies as they are not ready for it yet as their marriage happened two years ago while Grace case was different. She always wanted kids with her husband, but it was nit in her hands to have kids.

No one was against the child of Grace and Brennon , but from last 3 years it didn't happen because God didn't grace them. Now she is here to confirm her doubts maybe. This is the only thing which can bring happiness to its father.

Grace always wished to be like Scarlet always happy with her husband. Who wouldn’t?? It's every woman wishes for her husband to express their love for them. That how much a girl means to them. How much he loves her. But Brennon never did, not even for once, he talked to me softly.

Grace explained her situation to her dear friend, and she came to only one conclusion. She instantly brought Grace to her hospital. After thoroughly checking and confirming she smiled happily at Grace, but when the last test report came her smile vanished into thin air.

“ Grace , you are pregnant” Grace smile bless fully while caressing her stomach and tearing up with happiness. She can finally have a happy family, maybe now her husband can love her.

"But" her eyes snapped towards Scarlet and found sadness in her eyes. She placed a file in her hands, Grace.

" Open it" Grace did what Scarlet said. Her smile also dropped and her smile vanished. Her happiness was for a short time. Why God has to be so cruel to her.

" Is it true?” asked Grace with a heavy heart. Being a professional doctor, Scarlet explained everything to her as she knew it will also hurt her. But she needs to be careful with her friend.

“I am sorry Grace , but you have to decide wisely, talked to Brennon his mother and your mother too. But I think option B is better”. Suggested Scarlet, though she was upset but she needs to support her anyhow.

Grace shooked her head and placed her hand on her stomach," I can’t do this Scarlet ”.

“ Grace you are like a sister to me. Decide wisely. Please don't do something which you won't be able to change in the end”. Scarlet keep her hand on her shoulder and said politely.

Grace nodded before standing up and smiling at her," keep my files with you, after two days I will come and tell you my decision”.

Scarlet nodded and hugged her friend, but mumbled softly again to make a wise decision. Grace went back home feeling numb that how to react to this situation. She was lost in her thoughts that how can she think to abort her own child. With whom she should discuss this matter? With that husband, who never looked at her the second time?

" Grace baby” she was startled hearing a high pitch voice of Brennon mother. Siddharth mother hugged her tightly and she returned the hug, smiling happily. She always enjoy her mother in law company. She is such a sweet and nice lady. Her father inlaw is not in the picture.

They had their lunch together. Brennon joined them for lunch, but went back to work afterward.

“ I know Grace that you want to say something. So don't hesitate because I am like your mother”. Grace smiled at her before grabbing her hands.

“ Mom… Mom i… I am pregnant”. Brennon mother smiled and nodded normally, but after realizing what she said she squealed in happiness and hugged her tightly.

“ Oh my sweetheart, I am so happy. Finally, I will be a grandmother. I waited so long for this moment. Thank you so much, Grace . You made me so happy”.

Grace went numb after seeing her so happy, now she doesn't know what to do and what to not do.

“ I didn't tell Brennon yet”. She spoke politely.

“ What? You should have told him Grace . He is the father. He deserves to know it first, and you know how much he live kids”. Said her mother in law a little bit sadly. She knows how their relationship is and the only one that can mend them will be their child. She is not aware if their bitter relation. Grace never told her a word. She is always careful around her, she doesn't want to upset her or anyone for that matter.

Grace nodded in agreement as it was not a lie that Brennon love kids indeed. He never used protection, neither let her use pills. He once told her that they are married and having kids is not a bad thing.

Grace knew he wanted to make his family. But will he be able to digest the real thing that she is going to tell him? She decided to talk to Brennon first, then will let their mothers known about this.

**time skip**

“Brennon I want to talk to you " Grace said softly watching her husband removing his watch. He just came back from his company. He hummed, motioning her to continue whatever she was going to tell him.

“ Why are you so hesitant. Just say it” he said coldly making her gulped down. Taking a high breath…

“ I am pregnant” she mumbled, but it was enough for Brennon to hear it.

“That's it, i thou… Wait, what?” he was stunned, staring at her with frozen expression. She gulped when his eyes travelled to her stomach.

Grace was stunned to find a smile on his face, which she never witnessed in their 3 years of marriage. He never smiles this brightly before, not with his mother nor with relatives and friends. It is the first time she is looking at hia beautiful smile.

She flinched back a little when she found him kneeling before her, caressing her stomach with love in his eyes, making her shocked. She gulped down her saliva when she found him kissing her clothed stomach, smiling so brightly.

“ Come fast, baby, daddy can't wait to hold you in his arms. My baby. My blood”. Whispered Brennon.

He was looking at her stomach with so much love and care that she was lost, not knowing what to do anymore.

She was lost. She was confused. Furthermore, she was clueless….
