The next day, when Elena woke up, the sky was still dark.

The street lamp outside was illuminating the room exactly the same way as when she fell asleep. It felt like time had stopped in this strange city, and there would never be any sunlight.

It was supposed to be depressing, but Elena felt no such thing. She was in a brisk mood as the sleep she had just had was so deep and relaxing.

When that strange Alpha pulled away from her and left, she felt disappointed and confused, but that’s all of it. The experience with her ex-boyfriend had taught her lessons. She stopped overthinking about things that were out of her control.

Hearing him leave the apartment, she sat up from his bed and observed his bedroom. It was a very small room, narrow and kind of messy. Books and magazines were scattered on the desk and floor-all of them were about laws and firearms. There was a picture hung on the wall at the end of the bed. Elena walked close and looked at it and then found it was a family photo.

Oh, L, after everything you have been through. How could you still be so naive and stupid?!If Nyla were still around, that must be her disappointed comment. All those things which had happened to her, including having her parents evicted and losing her wolf, were all because she was so weak and pathetic. She couldn’t find the determination to fight against Cory. And she couldn’t be cold-blooded and careless. If only she had left the very moment after she saw Cory with Lennie, then none of those things would have happened. If only she had attacked Cory and killed him in the hallway outside the basement, then at least her parents would have been okay. But No.She did none of those things because she just couldn’t help but trust the conscience of the person she had loved so much. And no matter how hard she tried, she just couldn’t have the determination to become a ruthless murderer. She was so weak and tragic, completely a disaster. When she was tied to the hospital bed, she had made u

Following him to walk in the cold hallway under that dim white light, it was really difficult for Elena not to think about what it would feel like when she touched him. That warm and cozy ambiance emitting from him made him the only sunlight in this endless dark night. She wanted to hug him so much and tell him she wanted him. Then none of them would be cold and alone in this world anymore. But No.She couldn’t just be with him like that. Love that could be obtained so easily would easily be lost too. She had learned her lessons about it. When she became the Luna of his, she hoped it was because she was worth it, not because she was “assigned” to it. For the first time in her life, Elena wanted to actually achieve something using her own power, not only for herself but also for him.She wanted to be his irreplaceable. And she wanted to be of great help. The elevator door opened after the tiny chime sound. Ragnar held the door for her, suggesting she go in first. They went down to

“I am now at your side.”That was the sweetest thing he had ever heard. While she was saying that, Ragnar looked right into her eyes and curled his lips into a smile. He wanted to hold her and kiss her and then tell her he wanted her at his side forever. Sadly, it wasn’t the right time.“Thank you,” he said.It was so difficult to suppress his impulse to be intimate with her. He had to turn his head and ask her, “Do you want to take a ride outside? There are actually some great views in the desert.”Elena would love to have a ride with him. But before that, she had other important issues to deal with. While Rangar showed her around, she paid attention to every rogue she had run into, but none of them were her parents. Which made her feel worried.“Sure,” she said, then asked, “But before that, can I ask you something?”Ragnar nodded his head. Elena then said, “It’s about my parents.” She paused for a second, then continued, “Before I was… sold here, about half a month ago, my parents

Two weeks before the wedding took place. The kingdom’s young king was having an extraordinarily miserable time. His father unleashed a huge rage on him for his reckless decision to intrude into the rogue’s territory. And his fiancée stopped talking with him because he had run after his mate. The worst of all was that he couldn’t even have sex. Lennie refused to sleep with him and forbade him to come near any of her dragon maids. On the other hand, that strange rogue specifically warned him not to do it unless he accepted Elena’s rejection. It’s not like he cared about the threats of that creepy rogue. It’s just he didn’t want to experience that kind of hell/ish torture again. When the last time Elena fooled around with that fucking rogue, he almost cracked his head open. If he enraged her and had her do it all through with that bastard, he might have to cut his penis off to find some peace.Pains he could endure, but desires… How could a man ever endure that kind of fire burn?“

After getting into the elevator, Elena breathed a sigh of relief quietly. Before they arrived at the hotel, Ragnar assured her multiple times that Cory wouldn’t recognize her. Still, she couldn’t help but feel a bit nervous. It had been half a month since she decided to return to the kingdom and search for her parents. Anxious as she was, she had to learn how to fight in human form with guns and daggers. Besides, she needed to learn how to behave and act like a real old-fashioned princess. The identity Ragnar and Daniel fabricated for her was the secret inheritor of the Phoenix-a mysterious species who kept their distance from all other shifters' kingdoms.“But there will be someone from Phoenix sending the wedding gift. What shall we do with them?” Elena was uncertain about this bold plan.Daniel assured her with a shrewd grin, “No worries. One of my aunts is married to Phoenix. I told her about you and your parents. She agreed to our plan as long as we don’t boast about it and draw

  • Her Fated Alphas   Chapter 27

After the elevator door opened, the housekeeper on the floor escorted them along with their luggage to their room at the end of the hallway.Daniel put her and Ragnar in the royal suite which was fancier than his to manifest her identity as the Phoenix princess. Theoretically speaking, she and Lennie were now on the same starting line. Only at present, she wasn’t interested in her ridiculous ex anymore.Back in the kingdom after everything she had experienced, Elena now finally saw how stupid and blind she was to have such deep trust in her shameless ex. But guess pains and betrayals are what it takes to grow up. Only after all those sufferings and regrets, did she become the person she was now and obtain the courage and wit, and determination to be with her second-chance mate and to achieve things that she had never dreamed of. It was all because of hate and unwillingness. It was also all because of love and remorse. After introducing different kinds of room services, the housekee

  • Her Fated Alphas   Chapter 28

When that gorgeous girl who was probably his second-chance mate stepped into the dancing hall, Cory felt his heartbeat stop. He ceased his conversation with those honorable guests surrounding him, and then turned and strode towards the door. Some guests’ attention was drawn by him. They followed his motion with their eyes and then saw that stunning newcomer. She wasn’t the kind of sweet or sunshine type who would make others fall in love at first sight. But that distant ambiance around her, and that coldness and pride in her eyes made her a raving beauty above all other people. She didn’t smile, and she didn’t socialize with others like a respectable guest was supposed to. It was impolite, even rude to attend a formal party like that, but Cory was deeply drawn by her indifference. It was what a princess should be in his mind. And that proud attitude of hers made him want to conquer her more than anything. It almost felt like she was made for him. And he would never stop pursuing her

  • Her Fated Alphas   Chapter 29

Following Ashely upstairs to the dressing room of Lennie’s, Elena had this strange feeling of returning to her past. When she was still a kid, she hung out with Cory in the mansion all the time. After they confirmed they were fated mates, Elena basically lived here. It was supposed to be her house, her dressing room, and her wedding, but now they were all under the name of another woman. A month ago, she was so devastated about it. Right now she just felt that it was funny. It was funny that what you once valued so much could turn out to be so worthless overnight. Elena even felt glad that she had been betrayed in that way. That’s how she got out of this sugarcoated morass and found what was really important.“This way, please.”Being guided to the familiar room at the right side of the hallway. Elena was surprised to see that Ashely actually took her to the dressing room. Judging from what Lennie had just said in the dancing hall, Elena was pretty sure Lennie knew something about he

Simon shifted to this huge, yellow dragon and roared into the sky. He flashed across the dark sky like lightning, and then disappeared into the thick night chasing the wolf carrying his sister.Once the snow stopped, the temperature started to rise. Everything around started melting slowly. Elena felt her phone vibrate. She pulled it out of her pocket and checked, and then saw a message from her mother. He is awake. It said.Elena let out a relieved sigh and smiled. The sky above her head had never been so clear. She knew it was the end of it.All these hates, and betrayals, and revenge, and greed. It was finally cleared out. They were free now. She and Ragnar, they could finally start their new life.“We need to get home like now,” Nyla strongly urged in her head.Elena nodded her head, and then looked around. The two dragon Betas were still there. The demise of the Princess was a huge deal. They needed to find a proper explanation to their Alpha. After meeting Elena’s eyes, the old

She squatted in front of the wheelchair to get closer to him, and then kissed his hand with tears streaming down the corners of her eyes. “I am sorry, Simon,” she said, “I am truly sorry.”Simon leaned forward a little to stroke her hair. “It’s alright, Little one. It’s not your fault,” he said, and his voice was so gentle, “It’s nobody’s fault. No one could foresee this to happen.”Lennie shook her head. She held her brother’s hand with both her hands and leaned on it with her forehead. She knew it was time to tell him the truth, and she felt so sorry and regretful that she had to disappoint him. “I am sorry, Simon,” she raised her head, looked towards her brother, and confessed, “I killed Cory the other day because I want to have my own kingdom. I want to be a real Queen, Simon. I am sorry, but I just … want it.”Simon’s face turned pale. His heart sank. No matter what horrible mistakes Lennie had made, he would forgive her as long as she didn’t mean to be bad. They all would. But

Hearing Lennie’s “confession”, Elena knitted her brows. Nyla whispered in her head, “She is lying again.”Elena knew but she didn’t interrupt. She knew Simon would naturally trust Lennie more than her and she was just here to make sure the necklace to be destroyed. She needed to save Ragnar first. Simon widened his eyes. He recognized it was the necklace Lennie had been wearing since she was a child. But he couldn’t understand how a necklace could threaten people. “What does it mean, Little one?” he asked, but in a soft tone, “You have to explain to me first.”Lennie sniffed, wiping her tears with the back of her hand, and then explained, “There is a werewolf living in the necklace. His name is Tyron. He is the ancestor of the wolf brothers. He started to speak to me in my head after I turned 18. He threatened me to kill all the wolves, the old wolf king, Cory and his big brother, Ragnar. He hated them for some reason. He wanted to destroy the wolf kingdom. And he is very powerful,

  • Her Fated Alphas   Chapter 65

The moment Lennie locked her eyes with Elena, she clenched her fists. She had never expected to meet Elena at her own home, and she didn’t like it when Elena spoke of her necklace in front of all the others. It was supposed to be her secret. She stared at the unexpected guest and smirked, coldly.“How dare you come to my home, you pathetic loser? You are not welcome here,” she said. Elena didn’t reply right away. She took off her cloak and passed it to Brian, and then said to the dripping princess in an indifferent tone, “I wouldn’t call myself a winner if it was my mate who poisoned my brothers.” She had just learned from Jack that, not only Alex, Lennie’s youngest brother, Liam, was affected by the snow too. Lennie clenched her fists even tighter. She hated what Elena was suggesting here. She wasn’t Zeno’s mate. She was a dragon. She was herself. She would never be anyone’s mate. “I guess there is a reason why your stupid ex put you into that hospital,” she said contemptuously,

Lennie was in a huge fury. The meeting place she agreed with Elena was where she escaped from Ragnar the day before. She reached the same place long before sunset and observed the whole place carefully in order to catch Elena. Her permit to the wolf kingdom had been deactivated. But to make the exchange, she and Elena, one of them, must cross the border. She knew Elena wouldn’t come into the dragon’s land, but it didn’t matter. She brought a special plant with her. It looked like a piece of dead vine, but was actually alive. Once the vine reached its target, it would grow rapidly to wrap the target up and then drag the target back to its owner. Her third brother, Simon, brought it to her from one of his mysterious trips years ago as a toy. Lennie hadn’t played with it for a long time. It took her a while to dig it out from her piles of precious gifts. She then carefully twined the necklace on that vine. If Elena wanted the necklace, then she would have to take the vine with it and tou

“Who is that?”Noticing Elena had turned back, Chris reined the horse too and came near her.Elena didn’t reply. She was hesitating whether to check it or not.The sun had already gone under the horizon. Lennie should have already found that she didn’t go to the borderline to exchange the necklace. She must get in touch with dragons before Lennie figured out what she intended to do.And they only had two horses. It wasn’t that easy to help an unconscious person.Chris made no further comment, waiting for her decision.Elena hesitated for like 5 seconds, and then got off the horse and walked closer to that person. The snow had covered most of his body. Only the shape of a person and some of his clothes could be vaguely seen.Elena knelt beside him and wiped the snow off his body with her gloved hands. A tall man lying face down gradually showed. He was very strong but na/ked with clothes piled on his back. It seemed like he passed out somehow in his dragon form and shifted back to huma

The blood-curdling screams and curses were horrifying. Lennie felt cold sweat had soaked through the clothes on her back. At the same time, she was being enveloped by another ball of white light. The next moment, she was sent back to the library. She found she was sitting on the carpeted floor with that old book on her lap, at exactly the same posture as before she was transported. Only now the book on her lap was wide open. But all its pages were blank like nobody had ever recorded anything on it. Lennie quickly figured out the book was spell-protected. Someone put a spell on the book which required certain keys to read the secret in it. And the necklace she placed right beside her leg was just the key. That young, but gut-wrenching voice was still echoing in her ears. Lennie took a deep breath to get it out of her head, and then bent over a little to pick the necklace up from the floor. This time she didn’t touch the ruby pendant, but used the silvery chain to lift it. She slo

  • Her Fated Alphas   Chapter 61

Back to five hundred years ago, in the dragon’s castle of the dragon kingdom. One of the most powerful dragon leaders, and the sole Dragon Queen in dragon history, the fire dragon, Vivian, was sitting on her throne, quietly, alone. She used her left hand to prop her head, leaning against that magnificent but cold, stone seat. The winter afternoon sunlight ran through the broken ceiling, fell upon a bunch of debris on the floor. The whole place looked more like a ruin than a royal palace. She sat there, completely alone, still, staring at that sunlight and those remnants on the floor. After a while, a transitory shimmer shone through the egg-sized ruby on the necklace she was wearing, but she didn’t notice it. At the same time, a strong, bearded male dragon walked into the tumbledown door frame, and then bowed to her. “The second of the Tinsley brothers asked to meet you, Your Majesty,” the male dragon said. His voice was thick and heavy, and echoed in this ruined throne hall. Th

Hearing Elena’s request, Lennie clutched the cell phone in her hand. The only reason she wanted the Moon Goddess’s relic was that she didn’t want to lose Zeno along with his incomparable power. If she traded the Moon Goddess’s relic using Zeno, then what she was trying to do now would be pointless.Although speech so, she couldn’t give up that easily. “Why do you want my necklace?” she asked questioningly. Except for herself, no one should have known the power Zeno possessed. Elena answered quickly and calmly, “In case your mysterious friend hasn’t told you. He is actually a werewolf and belongs to us. He is a property of the wolf kingdom, Princess. That’s why we want him back.”Lennie bit her bottom lip. She had already known Zeno was a werewolf from their conversation yesterday. But if Elena knew Zeno was a werewolf too, it would be a different story. There must be something special about Zeno. She thought for a few seconds, and then said, “Fine, you can have my necklace.
