CHAPTER 52

Serene's

I was fortunate in the café that I had enough time to hurry home before Mr. Simon informed Diego of my presence. I left Rina to handle everything while I arrived to prepare for Miguel's and my supper with Cruz. I knew I did not have to worry about meeting Diego; I am now a boss, so I can meet anybody I want and avoid those I don't. I asked Mia to help me prepare the salad while I was preparing the meat. "Mommy, it smells delicious. Can I taste it?" Miguel asked.

"Oh no baby, this meat is not done yet; it will cause you to have diarrhea. Maybe I will give you some ice cream instead," I suggested, snatching his ice cream.

"Here, please go play in the living room, and I will join you shortly, OK," I said as he went out, nodding.

I returned to what I was doing when I suddenly recalled something. "Mia," I murmured, staring at her.

"Thank you for always being there for Miguel; I do not know what I would have done without a kind and loving nanny like you."

CHAPTER 53Diego What the heck is wrong with me? How is it possible that I am smelling Serene's perfume around the house? When I returned from my disappointment at not meeting Rina's boss, I went straight to the living room and asked Grace to make me some coffee; London was becoming unbearable for me; I am Diego Myers, the only man who takes no nonsense from anyone, and here I am waiting for about 3 weeks to speak with some woman who is attempting to be overly bossy. In retrospect, I believe Rina's boss is attempting to play hard to get. "Diego, what is the problem, my son?" Grace inquired, undoubtedly sensing how concerned I was."Nothing, really; I am just attempting to sign a business contract with a woman who refuses to see me," I replied, taking the coffee from her palm."Who exactly is unwilling to agree with you in London?" She asked."I have been trying to visit the individual for three weeks, but something always seems to come up, and I am becoming frustrated; it is like the

I even completely forgot I was next to my uncle. I have never seen Serene look so attractive, not even throughout our marriage, save when she went to visit the firm, but what my eyes just saw was way beyond what I had imagined. "I feel you are staring in the wrong way," my uncle said in a cautionary tone. "Umm, what is wrong with that?" I questioned him." Except for her smell, I could tell she had changed significantly. The situation wasn't the same. The only difference is that he treats me with all the affection his nephew couldn't. I know this sounds weird, but it is not meant to be my problem right now. Diego and Cruz may come up at my place at any time, which is something I must avoid at all costs. When I got to the hotel, I expected to meet someone else with Cruz. Since I was still texting Neina. I did not even look up to see who I was greeting until I noticed the person was causing a delay in our handshake, at which point I looked up and realized it was Diego.I was so surprised it was him; I at first thought he was using Cruz to get to me, but when Cruz referred to him as his nephew, I nearly prayed for the Earth to swallow me. I hurriedly made my way to the restroom and considered what I should do. Escaping made no sense, so I walked to my seat after

What the heck? I thought she worked for me. I walked to the opposite side of the desk and took the initiative to speak first. “Diego I am not sure what you are doing here, but you out of all people should understand how business works; make an appointment and I will see you when I am available," I said, taking my seat confidently.“Yes that's right, but we both know you won't Serene.”"This is Ms. Brights, and I believe you understand how things work in business. I was still sitting when the door opened and Rina walked in. “Mr. Myers I was not expecting that you would still be here.”"I am actually on my way out, thank you very much, and you should expect more if you help me next time," I said as I approached the door, but she stopped me."Wait, I need you to sign this," she said, setting the project papers on the table."What, you mean Serene has agreed to let me?” “Yes, madam asked me to give this to you.”I quickly took them and signed the documents before returning them to her. I thanked her again and walked out of Serene's office. It is not like her to give me that project easily; what caused her to change her mind? I am confident it is because she still loves me. I took them directly from the army because I needed quality protection. I do not even need to go outside. I will simply tell the chief guard to tell his friends not to harm him in any way, but to give him a taste of what they are like when messed with. I smiled and went into my room. I quickly changed into my pajamas and went to bed. I had not spoken to Charlotte or Neina, so I tried to add them both to a video chat."Hello, ladies," I said as they both smiled at me."Hello, Serene; what could be behind that smile?" Rina stepped behind us, clearing her throat, but I was convinced she was mocking me. “Uhmm, Ms. Brights, can we have a word?" Charlotte asked and I turned around to hear what she had to say."I think it is about time I go to my apartment," she remarked, and I truly wanted to disagree, but I had to since I was only going to let her go there when she felt stable.“Are you sure?” I asked."Yes, I am ready," she said, but it was not convincing enough."Look you can go but are you sure you are fine to stay alone?’” I asked again and she assured me.“OK fine," I re

If his shares are not making any money, why in the world is he there? Which could only mean one thing.I quickly scheduled a meeting at the Hotel Bright Lights, and despite Mr. Simon's persistent calls, I declined to respond because we both knew what would happen next. The other prisoner kept yelling, but my companion quickly pulled me back."Be cautious, he has killed roughly ten people here; being targeted by him could only mean one thing," he continued, and I needed to know what brought that elephant figure to me."That your enemies want you dead in here, and nobody else performs the job better than him," my pal cautioned, and I could tell by looking at him that death was all he had to offer.Could Serene want me dead? Or is it my damn uncle? Serene would never want my death, at least not while she was still alive; therefore, it was certainly my uncle.Everyone comple
