Chapter 1

Zina's POV

Tonight, I was finally losing my virginity—and to my husband, no less. The feeling of having my vagina popped at last.

I stared at Tyson as he carried me across the room, his arms strong and steady. "You know," I teased, "you're supposed to carry me over the threshold, not to the bedroom."

He laughed, his grin as wide as the sky. “Who says I can’t do both? Besides,” he leaned down to kiss me lightly, “I could carry you forever if I had to.”

I giggled, feeling a warmth I hadn’t known in years. “In that case, you better make me comfortable.”

His deep chuckle filled the room as he kicked open the door. My breath hitched at the sight inside. The room looked like a dream—candles softly flickering, rose petals scattered across the bed in a pattern that screamed romance.

Tyson laid me down gently, his dark eyes locking with mine. I felt a blush creep up my face as I whispered, “You know I’m a virgin, right?”

His expression softened, and he brushed a strand of hair from my face. “Don’t worry, Zina,” he murmured, “I’ll make it special. Who knows, we might even make a baby tonight.”

I couldn’t help but laugh, though the thought sent my heart racing. He leaned down, kissing me slowly, passionately, until I forgot where I was. All I could feel was him.

For the first time in my life, I was genuinely happy. Tyson was my escape, my safe haven. I didn’t have to think about my family—the Blackwoods—or the weight of their name. To him, I was just Zina, the girl he loved.

His hands were gentle as he undressed me, and I felt a sense of peace I hadn’t known existed. We were lost in the moment when—

Boom.

The door flew open, slamming against the wall with a deafening crack.

“What the hell?!” Tyson shouted, grabbing his pants and stepping in front of me. His protective stance both warmed my heart and sent a wave of fear crashing through me.

The intruders stepped in, their faces calm but deadly. My blood ran cold as I recognized them.

My uncle Luther. My cousin Ethan, wearing his usual sarcastic smirk. And two of the family enforcers, their presence like shadows of death.

“Who are you?!” Tyson demanded, his voice firm despite the tension in the room.

Luther’s sharp eyes landed on me. “Get dressed, Zina.”

Tyson turned to me, confused. “Zina... do you know them?”

I opened my mouth to respond, but before I could, Luther’s cold voice cut through. “Uncle, huh? That’s right, boy. I’m her uncle.”

Tyson’s eyes darted back to me, a mix of shock and betrayal crossing his face. “Uncle? What’s going on, Zina?”

Ethan stepped forward, his grin widening. “Oh, Tyson, you’re in way over your head. Didn’t she tell you? She’s the daughter of the Blackwoods. You know, the Blackwoods?”

Tyson’s face fell, and he turned to me for answers. “Zina... what is he talking about?”

I swallowed hard, feeling the weight of my secrets crashing down on me. “Tyson... I was going to tell you. I swear. I just... I didn’t know how.”

The betrayal in his eyes hurt more than I could admit. But before I could explain, Luther gestured to the enforcers. “Enough of this. Get her dressed. We’re leaving.”

“No!” Tyson snapped, stepping in front of me again. “She’s my wife. You’re not taking her anywhere.”

The enforcers didn’t hesitate. One of them moved swiftly, slamming Tyson against the wall. He grunted but didn’t back down.

Ethan chuckled. “You’ve got guts, I’ll give you that.”

“Get your hands off him!” I yelled, but my voice barely registered over the chaos.

Tyson pushed back, landing a solid punch on one of the enforcers. The man stumbled, but his partner retaliated, hitting Tyson hard enough to make him stumble.

“Stop it!” I screamed, but it was useless.

Tyson kept fighting, his determination unwavering, even as blood trickled down his lip. “You’re not taking her!” he shouted, his voice hoarse.

Luther, visibly annoyed, pulled out a gun. The click of the safety being removed silenced the room.

“Enough,” Luther said, aiming the gun at Tyson’s head.

“Stop!” I cried, rushing to put myself between them. “Uncle, please! Don’t hurt him!”

Luther’s cold eyes bored into mine. “Move, Zina.”

“No,” I said firmly. “You want me, right? Then leave him out of this. He’s not part of our world.”

Luther stared at me for a long moment before lowering the gun. “Fine,” he said. “But if he so much as breathes wrong, he’s dead. Now, get dressed.”

I stood frozen, my heart pounding. “Why are you doing this?” I demanded. “I’m married, Uncle. You can’t just—”

“I don’t care,” Luther interrupted, pulling a folder from inside his coat. He tossed it onto the bed. “Sign these.”

I picked it up, my hands trembling. Divorce papers.

“What? No!” I snapped. “I won’t sign these.”

Luther’s gaze turned icy. “You don’t have a choice, Zina. You either leave here as a divorcee... or as a widow.”

Zina's POV Tonight was supposed to be the happiest night of my life. Now, my uncle's gun was pointed at Tyson’s head, and I couldn’t let him pull the trigger.“Sign the papers, Zina,” Luther said, his voice as sharp and unyielding as the weapon in his hand. “Or your husband dies.”Tyson’s lip was bleeding, his shirt torn from the scuffle with the enforcers who now held him pinned against the wall. Still, his eyes burned with defiance as he looked at me. “Zee... don’t do this,” he said, his voice hoarse but steady. Hearing my pet name from him almost broke me.Ethan, my cousin, stood nearby, arms crossed and a smug grin plastered across his face. “Come on, Zee,” he said mockingly. “Be reasonable. The poor guy doesn’t deserve to die for your bad decisions.”The divorce papers were thrust into my hands, the weight of them heavier than I could bear. My hands trembled as I looked down at the bold black letters spelling out the end of my marriage. My heart raced, each beat a painful remind

Tyson's POV The night was a blur of pain and betrayal. My fists clenched as I stood outside, watching the black limo speed away with Zina inside. She didn’t look back. Not even once. The only woman I’d ever loved—gone. How could she do this? The thought gnawed at me like a rusted blade slicing through my chest.I had trusted her, given her my heart, my soul. And now, in one brutal moment, she’d torn it all away. Maybe I didn’t really know her at all. What else had she been hiding from me?The sound of a car door closing snapped me out of my spiraling thoughts. Ethan strolled out of the house with that same smug grin plastered on his face. His own limo was parked just a few feet away, gleaming under the streetlights.“Still standing out here like a lost dog, huh?” he sneered. “You really are pathetic. A punk like you thought he could marry Zina? A princess in our world?” He laughed cruelly. “Did you actually believe we’d let her be tied to someone as worthless as you?”I gritted my te

Zina's POV ---Nine months had passed since that fateful night. I was back in Italy, my stomach heavy with the child Tyson and I had created. Each day, I woke up hoping for some news about him, but all I got was silence. Tyson had vanished, and no one could tell me where he was—or if he was even alive. Now, here I was, in the labor room. My body ached, and my heart was heavier than ever. After that night with Tyson, I discovered I was pregnant. It was the only reason I had the strength to escape from Luther and Ethan’s clutches. This baby, our baby, was my light in the darkness.Sweat dripped down my face as the contractions grew stronger. I was gripping the edge of the bed when the door burst open.“Sister Mary?” I gasped, seeing the familiar face of the woman who had sheltered me. She was dressed in her nun’s habit, her expression grim. She rushed to my side. “Zina, we don’t have much time. Your uncle and cousin have found out where you are. They’re on their way.”My heart skipped

Zina's POV Back at my uncle’s mansion, I couldn’t stop pacing in my room. My heart felt like it was about to burst from my chest. Ava was safe, and that thought gave me some solace, but the weight of everything else crushed me. I hated being here, hated being under Luther’s thumb again. Every corner of this house felt suffocating, and every passing second made me miss Tyson even more.I grabbed my phone and called Naomi. If anyone could bring me some news, it was her.“Zina?” she answered quickly.“Come over,” I whispered, my voice trembling. “I need to see you. Now.”“On my way,” she replied without hesitation. When she arrived an hour later, I let her into my room and locked the door behind her. My paranoia was justified. Luther had spies everywhere, and I couldn’t afford anyone overhearing us.“Did you find anything?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.Naomi’s face was tense, but she reached into her bag and pulled out a folder. “Yes, but we need to keep this quiet,” she sa

Zina's POV I froze hearing the cry of my name, but I jolted back to senses as I jolted swiftly waiting for the greatest surprise of life.“You..why is it you?” I breathed, disappointed with the sight in front of him. It was my cousin, Ethan, and I could only wonder what he was doing in the garden playing hide and seek.“Are you expecting someone else?” He asked with a smug smile, but I just ignored him as I walked away. “Why are you so grumpy? Don't you think that you should treat me, right? I mean, if you want to survive in this house, you have to listen to me pretty.” Ethan says, holding my chin, and I felt disgusted. He always considers himself to be a lord, while I'm just a servant at his mercy.“Get your filthy hands off me! And I don't think I need to get along with you because you are also at the mercy of someone I know.” I said, pushing him off my path, and I heard his cursed.I knew that it wasn't right that I got him angry, but I didn't care. I just need to find a way out of

Zina's POV He led me to the dance floor, and I could feel everyone's eyes on us, but I was too nervous to care. The man in front of me looked familiar, but I would rather not be brazen, I could be wrong. But could I ever not recognize Tyson? Even with a mask on, I knew I wouldn't mistake my Tyson for someone else, but my mind might be playing a trick on me.“Can you dance well?” He asked with amusement evident in his voice. “I can move to tune.” I replied, not buying because that's the least I could do..and maybe stepping on his shoes once in a while.“That's okay.” He replied smugly, his mask concealing his expressions well. The music begins, and we started moving to the tune, but I noticed the man's actions became brazen. He was holding on to me like he was trying to get warmth from me. He kissed my ear lobe as we moved to the music, and I only managed to stiff a moan that wanted to escape my mouth. That would have been embarrassing.“Don't you think you are doing too much, mister.

Tyson's POV I walked angrily to my car, not minding my men who were bowing to me, and I threw the mask that I put on. I was fuming in anger.“What? Did she not recognize me? I knew so much time had passed, but I never for once, forgot about her, not even a single detail!” I screamed, and I punched the car seat so badly. After I let out my anger, the door to the car opened, and Victor, my second in command, walked in. “Are you okay, boss?” He asked, and I scoffed. He knew about the history between Zina and me, and also my burning hatred for the Blackwood family, so there were no secrets from him.“I met her.” I said. He looked shocked after my words, but he masked it immediately. “Oh, but why are you not with her? I mean, you yearned for her all these while and..” he was saying, but I cut him off.“How can I bring her when she doesn't want me?” I said, but I knew the emotions I saw in her eyes were different from the reports I had been receiving.“Oh, so what next?” He asked. “We wait,

Zina's POV “Pah!” The sound of a slap rang through my room, and I held my cheek in shock not believing that my uncle just slapped me..it wasn't like he didn't do it before, but I didn't know what I did to warrant that.“Ahh! What have I done, uncle!” I screamed, but his glare shook me up. “You really have the nerve to ask that after going off the grid with a strange man abandoning the party.” He said.“I'm sorry, I didn't mean to leave the party, but I wasn't feeling too well, so I had to leave, and I didn't leave with a man to clear your allegations.” I said through gritted teeth, and my uncle burst into laughter hearing my words.“Who gave you the right to call the shot? Even if you are about to drop dead, you still have to ask me before you leave!” He roared.“Why should I do that? I'm an adult, and it's my life, so I don't need you controlling everything.” I argued, but I bit back my words when I saw him get closer to me with a cold glare. “Looks like you are forgetting something

Zina's POV “Hi Zina!” The man who just entered the room smiled back at me, but I just scoffed. I couldn't believe that I was seeing him in that kind of place after so many years.“What's it, Mr. Williams? Did you know Miss Blackwood?” One of the investors asked, and he nodded his head. “Yes, Zina and I had history,” he replied, and I gagged in disgust. The man who just walked in was Craig Williams, one of my friends from college, but rather than a friend he was more of a stalker. He made my college days hell with his actions, but I wouldn't remember that to block unpleasant memories.“What history? I wouldn't want to say that, so I wouldn't give people the wrong idea.” I fired back, but instead of being offended he just smiled. He took a seat beside me, and leaned closer, but I shifted away. “Looks like Miss Blackwood isn't really fond of Mr. Williams, but can we move to the agenda today?” One of the investors, Mr. Nathaniel, hushed.“Thank you gentlemen, I will begin my presentation
