After the gruesome lunch we had, Quinn joined me for my usual walk. As you probably figured out now, my means of transportation is my own two feet. I don’t own a car. I sold it a couple of years ago. I find tranquility in trekking.

“You could have held back, Kur. If Nile wasn’t my friend, we would’ve screwed up the deal. This is a multibillion event.”

And that’s obviously the reason why Quinn graced me with her company. To lecture me again.

“You’re exaggerating.” I stated with an eye roll.

“Multimillion. I mean what’s the diff, the family makes billions a year.”

I halt causing her to stop abruptly. I turn to her questioningly. “Did you just follow me so you could lecture me? Cause if you do, I’m going to call a cab so you could go to your fiancé and maybe continue planning your wedding.” She pouts. “Oh, no. don’t give me that face. It was your fault you sent me to that mother fucker.”

“Kur.” She warned.

“Look, I already complied with your request. I apologized, he apologized and we’re good.”

“After you punched his face!” She exclaimed.

“He damn well deserved it.” She sighs. “Go home, Quinn. Your heels won’t survive this walk.” I pointed at her four inched high heels which managed to make her barely reach my height. I was five eight. She was five three and a half.

She exhales heavily. “Fine. Remember, be good to him.”

“Same goes to his mouth.” I retorted.

That made Quinn chuckle, hugging me right after. “Please don’t be late tomorrow.” She said before unwrapping her arms from me. “Don’t provoke him, Kur. He’s worse than dad with his conventional ways.”

I smirk. “We’ll see.”

Surprisingly, the first week went by without problems. Nile and I only crossed paths a couple of times. It’s when we have meetings where we plan and finalize the general look, schedules, suppliers and other details both minor and major. This will be an international event, attracting investors and clients globally as one of its purposes. I found out that this is their first time organizing this kind of huge event. It turns out Nile was very invested in this. This was his stepping stone for his vision for the future of Veselov Industries.

I must admit that information made me nervous. Veselov is our biggest client to the present. We have handled a lot of huge clients- from small to famous film production, events, weddings, elite parties, advertising campaigns. I was always hands on on everything. If the CEO and I hadn’t had a beef with each other, I think this project would’ve made me doubt myself and probably for the first time in my job, question my confidence. But our squabble made me want to prove myself to him regardless of how I look or talk.

For a moment, I wondered why he still chose us after my bad impression on him. I doubt that it’s because we’re a reputable company. We made a lot of big and successful projects, yes. But I think this guy is too much of a jerk, too arrogant to still work with someone like me. Either way, who cares? The deal was on and that’s what matters.

He gave us a temporary office for us to work on. In case he needed something, he could easily reach out to us. It was also easier for him to monitor us. He had also chosen a team from one of his employees to work with us which was a plus. Since events usually need a large number of people to work.

I was mostly alone in the office, still contemplating ideas and strategies. My people started going out to canvas for supplies and some other errands I needed them to do. The asshole only gave us only four months. Events like this take a year to plan. He was fucking crazy. If it weren’t for the fat check he signed for us, I’m hands off of this. Because he irritates me, I plan to return the favor.

Every time I sense that he’s around, I act as if I was unconcerned and had nothing to do. And whenever I saw his ugly scowl, I knew it worked. He noticed my nonchalance.

So here I am having a chat with one of his employees in her cubicle as if we have all the time in the world. Her name was Emma. We were talking about her hobbies, her life, her little sidelines whenever she’s bored. She was talkative and I could see how she enjoyed talking about her life to me.

This was all ruined when a domineering shadow fell upon us. Emma immediately sat upright and continued typing to her computer with a concerned look on her face. Of course, I expected this to happen.

I turned my swiveling chair towards him, raising my head to see his glorious presence. The scowl was no surprise though but it seemed to get darker and darker whenever he saw me. I’m glad that I affect him so much. I’m impressed though, the bruise on his handsome face that I painted days ago was almost nonexistent. Wow. Rich people.

He was glowering with his arms crossed, eyebrows digging together, mouth in a firm line. “Is this what you’re doing with my employees? Wasting time as if you have no deadline.”

My lips lifted upwards in a smirk. He grunted, annoyed at my subtle response. “We need to talk.”

He is such a dominant creature. I thought as I shook my head, a smile emitting from my face.

After saying goodbye and thanking Emma, I followed Nile towards his office and perhaps prepare for an intense argument. As soon as I closed the door, his voice boomed with no hesitation.

“Answer me, Miss Kunoe. Clearly you’re not taking this work seriously.” He leaned against his desk and crossed his arms once again.

He was tall with a body that contains just a right amount of muscles which added to his charm. Despite leaning to his desk, he was still taller than me. I probably reached his chin right now and when he stands in full height, I was about in his shoulders or chest. That’s how huge he was.

I roll my eyes. “Please.”

“Do not provoke me. You are working for me, Miss Kunoe. As much as I despise your presence here, Quinn vouched for you. She said you are the best of the best in your work.”

There’s my answer.

I saunter towards him. When I stood a foot apart from him, I slammed the folder against his chest. His eyebrows raise in surprise.

“That contains the lists of people who to trust in planning & organizing the event. From major to minor staff, their tasks and whatnots- even to at least the catering management. I knew how you trust your employees so much so instead of randomly giving me people who I can work with, I asked them one by one so I’d know their capabilities and where to put them. It makes our job a lot easier and less time consuming. In short, everything is put into detail there.”

When they gave me the names of who could possibly join my team, I tried to search the said names. The people in the list have the lightest work in the company. Emma was one of them. And Emma apparently was a designer. Despite her typing job here. She was also very talented and she showed me a few of her works. From flowers, to interiors, gardens and mini events like birthdays from her families and relatives. I could see her love and skills in decorating. I needed someone like her. I needed her talent.

I wanted to find diamonds, not stones. Turns out, he owns a lot of them.

His hands started to roam under my dress. His fingers fiddled with my underwear. He could already feel my wetness and in a swift movement, he thrusted his two fingers inside me. I gasped before moaning between our kisses.I rocked my hips as he pulled and pushed his fingers inside me, adding one more along the way. I could feel his full erection against my stomach. God, I could never get used to his massiveness. It always hurts the first thrust.“With how much you’ve been fucking me day and night, don’t you think I would’ve been pregnant easily without the pills?” I muttered against his ear.“I’m sorry for lashing out. I thought you would refuse the idea of having a baby for now.” His response was that of a whisper.I withdrew a bit to face him. “It’s alright.” I smiled. “Considering I’ve been a difficult woman before we established a relationship.”He

It’s been more than half a year since Nile and I got married. After the stunt I pulled with the marriage certificate, Sara was even more adamant to have the wedding as soon as possible. That was after berating us in both Russian and Japanese. I didn’t understand a thing so I just stared at her confused that night. The question is why did I do it exactly? Why did I trick both of them, especially my husband? Honestly, I made the sudden decision right as Nile talked to the judge. I was staring at him as I waited for their conversation to finish. Then and there I thought.I want to marry him.I realized he didn’t ask me that question and only assumed that I would still refuse his proposal. I would refuse back then but now… it’s different. I want to be with him.I don’t know when he managed to change my mind. He effortlessly convinced me to be with him. To marry him and love only him… forever. He doesn&

“Your mom will be crushed if she finds out the news.” There was a hint of amusement in her statement.“What do you want to do?”She was quiet before she replied. “I’m honestly surprised. I seriously thought she was only teasing me about it. I didn’t know it was actually this serious when she kept mentioning it to you.”I looked at her inquisitively. “Why would you think she was teasing you?”“Ugh, hello? Have you seen the way your mom looks at me? The way your mom talks to me? It’s as if she’s planning something ridiculous. It’s like she’s planning to have one hundred ways to embarrass me. She’s as mischievous as a brat.”“Good point.”She raises her eyebrow at me as if in disbelief that I agree with her. But she’s right. My mom is pretty mischievous. There’s always plans up in her head and execute it wh

“I’ll be moving back to my apartment the day after tomorrow. Don’t forget that, Mr. Veselov.” I reminded Nile as he drove me towards Runner Studios.Nile was silent while having this deep frown on his eyebrows. I almost wanted to laugh but I held it in because I knew he hates the idea of me moving out of their mansion.“Come on. It’s not like we are going to be apart hours away. Do you want to fuck in my apartment again?” I teased him in the end.“I’d rather we fuck in my room, lyuBImaya.” He grunted.“Wait. My office isn’t in this direction. Where are we going?” I noticed he wasn’t going towards Runner Studios and instead took a different route.I was suspicious when Nile didn’t answer. It’s times like this that he’s up to something again. His silence is very dangerous for me.I was right when he stopped in front of a familiar

I woke up still exhausted and sore from last night. I took a bath before going down stairs for breakfast. I was absolutely starving.“Good morning, darling.” I froze when I met her downstairs. Her arms were crossed as she held a tiny knowing smirk in front of me.I was surprised to see Sara. I thought she was on a trip. She probably just got home then.“Good morning.” I responded shyly. And then I realized it was already noon and she was being sarcastic. “I’m sorry.”“No, no. You don’t need to apologize. I’m sure you are tired.”I blushed at her comment. I don’t know if she knew what I’ve been doing with her son the whole night.Sara only smiled before inviting me for lunch. “Come. I’m going to have lunch on the veranda. I’ve been feeling stuffy since I arrived home. I need some fresh air and delicious food.” She then whirls ar

Dad sauntered towards Nile. He stiffened, showing his nervousness.I restrained a laugh while looking the other way not to be obvious about my reaction.I mean my dad had this built in strict look. He was naturally intimidating. He was very similar to Nile, though I find Nile to be way more scary. I guess it’s because I know how powerful and influential he is. He can literally do whatever he wants. People simply let him be because they’re afraid of him. It’s ironic because his father was the total opposite. He had a really friendly vibe and was approachable.“Please take care of my daughter.”My head whipped towards their direction, shocked at my father’s words. Nile was obviously shocked as well.I thought he’s going to roast him. Sadly, it didn’t happen.“Of course.” He answered confidently. There was a vague smile on his lips, his body now relaxed.I g

I spent a week staying with my family after I got out of the hospital. My dad requested that I should stay for a bit and spend time with them.Silena was released more than a week ago. She was in a wheelchair for the meantime because of her leg. When Nile dropped me off at my dad’s house, before we got in, he told me the news that Jacob was dead. I didn’t ask him how or whatever the details were because I felt elated about it. It felt like my freedom was back and I was so so relieved about it. Not only that, my family and I are okay now.I was silent when he brought out the news because I was internally soaking it all in. After what he did to me, my friends and now my family, I wanted him gone badly. And this news was everything to me.Nile didn’t mind my reaction. He usually understands me a lot so I knew he felt my relief. We had a feast when I arrived home. They prepared a lot of delicious food to welcome me and a

It was more than two weeks later that Kura was released from the hospital. She could’ve gotten out earlier but I insisted her to stay until I am reassured she’s better. It was a surprise that she didn’t resist. It was Colton and I who took turns on watching her. We didn’t let her feel she’s alone. We wanted to avoid letting her feel unsafe as much as possible. What she’s gone through wasn’t really a walk in the park.Knowing Kura was safe with Colton, I decided to visit my prisoner days after Kura was admitted to the hospital. I needed to take care of him once and for all.My men kept him in one of our old warehouses that we no longer use. When I got there, he was in the same state as the last time I saw him.He was tied up tightly in a chair, arms behind him and legs wrapped tightly against the chair’s legs. He looked hopeless and defeated. That look should've made me feel happy that he was fi

I jolted awake right when I heard Colton’s voice.“Rose, you’re awake!” He exclaimed and went instantly to her side. He sat on the bed beside her.I was sitting on the chair by the window. I didn’t realize that I fell asleep despite my sitting position. I watched them from here and decided that I should let them be. I figured he had every right to be there for her. I resisted the urge to go to her and have her on my own. I have resisted the desire to be the first one she sees when she wakes up.I have been on edge for god knows how many hours until I fell asleep with it.Colton lunged at her for a hug, careful not to hit her wound. He was crying again like a kid. I saw the surprise on Kura’s face at how her best friend reacted.“God, Rose! You don’t know how I’m dying here waiting for you to wake up. You really gave me a heart attack when you took that bullet for me.” He spok
