CHAPTER SEVENTY-NINE: THE REVOLT

“Another charge brought against Mr Wells is the crime of trying to avoid justice. Since the Guard is still here, they will testify against him, and there will be no need to swear the oaths once again. You may continue now. How did Mr. Wells try to escape justice?”

“First, he had tried to run off with the human but unfortunately for him, she fell into labour and had to be brought back to be delivered of her child. We then got ready to attack, but he came into the office and somehow knew what we were about to do—”

“Yes. I told him what was going to happen. Five wolves against a Beta, a defenceless woman, and a baby wasn’t quite the sport. It wasn’t fair to them.”

The men paused before continuing.

“William Robin and I set after them,” the younger one continued animatedly as though it was a story to tell. “He bolted the door, morphed into his wolf form, and carried the human on his back. He then broke through the glass and ran into the woods, but a trail of blood led us to him.”
