30 Second chance

“What happened?” I moaned, trying to focus in the dark room. Duncan jumped from the bed like a bee stung him and scared the hell out of me. It was 2 am, I managed to read the clock.

“Another attack,” he groaned, pulling up his jeans. “They got through the patrol.”

“Shit,” I jumped from the bed, too.

I quickly dressed and ran after Duncan. I caught up to him in the main hall and grabbed his arm.

“Tell me.”

“Caleb got injured. They are taking him to the clinic,” he said as we headed there together now.

When we arrived, the patrol was already there, with a quite bloody Caleb sitting on a chair.

“Alpha, Luna,” they all bowed politely as we stepped in. Duncan studied them for a minute, and I did the same. They all seemed fine, except for the one Caleb who was in an awful shape. Who, if I’m not mistaken, wasn’t even on patrol duty tonight.

“Explain,” Duncan ordered in a voice that made the members of the patrol flinch.

I love how sweet and pure the love story between Duncan and Moirah is. It is refreshing and unique. I hope you keep with it; I don’t know if I could handle them betraying one another, even briefly.
