61: The Funeral

My heart was empty, numb and overall, shattered.

It's been one month of Maggie's passing and I've been stuck at home ever since. I hadn't had the courage to step out of my house and show my face. Yes, I went back to my old apartment.

I didn't even have the will to live anymore.

Nothing was the same anymore.

I haven't seen Lorenzo's face or any of his family. How could I console them when I could barely console myself?

I had caused a death.

The guilt was eating me up inside and I didn't know what to do. I hadn't been able to move on and forget. The entire family had found out about the real story behind my marriage with Lorenzo. He told them.

Claimed that I had manipulated Maggie into forcing him to marry me. I was absolutely humiliated. I've never felt more humiliated like I was on that day.

I watched the expressions on their faces and I knew they were never going to view me the same way. Valerie couldn't hide her shock even if she tried.
