"Mum?" Frederick called to make sure she was still there.

"Release your cousin from jail," Yvonne finally said.

"I don't get you, mum," Frederick stated, unable to understand why his mum would ask him to let someone who had nearly ruined him go.

"Let him go, please," Yvonne pleaded. Her voice was low and pleading. Tears were running down her face as she said this. If only she had been more careful if only she didn't make that mistake in the past, she wouldn't be in this situation now, she thought and let her tears flow without restraint.

"Did you take alcohol?" Frederick asked.

"I don't understand why you would suddenly call me on the phone and ask that I release someone that nearly killed me. You are asking me to let the person that ruined my marriage go scot-free," Frederick said.
