I groaned at the loud knocking on the door. My eyes squinted as they gradually adjusted to the light coming from the sun. 'Who could be knocking like a nagging wife in the morning?' I asked in my thoughts. Last night, I slept late, waiting for Logan to come back. Now, I woke up without him by my side. I suddenly felt empty. That was my second night in the palace, and all I could say was it wasn't what I expected at all. I touched the pillow beside my head and sniffed, hoping his scent was there.

A touch of sandalwood and cinnamon. The deep, creamy sweetness with warm undertones of amber, leather, and wood from sandalwood always made me think of a place I used to go when my mother was still alive - church!
