Seraphine had Noah following after her as she rode around the forest. Although there was no need for it, Seraphine knew how paranoid those surrounding her could be when it came to her.
As expected, although first couple of minutes were comfortable, it got tough to sit on the horse after a while, and in order to feel the thrill, she increased her speed.
She heard Noah's warning and paid no mind to it. The warm breeze blew past her as the horse moved faster, and she laughed.
The feeling was akin to being chased by Noah, and unbeknownst to her, she was slowly beginning to enter into the forest. Following that, Seraphine heard no sounds behind her, and an ominous feeling rose inside her chest.
Turning her head back, she was startled to find Noah wasn't there. With his expertise, he would have no difficulty in keeping up and following her.
This could only mean one thing, and this caus
Seraphine began to curse in her mind as her horse started to hasten its pace and nothing she did was able to bring the animal under control. It was as if the horse was deeply triggered and frightened. Her heart began to beat rapidly, and Seraphine wondered whether or not to jump from the animal. Who knew where this horse would lead her to?But the problem was that the forest only turned denser as the horse moved forward, and if she chose a wrong moment to jump, it could get fatal. Moreover, with all the branches sticking out, she had to be careful in avoiding them and thus, had a hard time thinking of appropriate responses.A groan escaped her mouth as a branch scraped against her neck, and it could have potentially been life endangering if it wasn't for her timely dodge. The other problem lied with the fact Seraphine wasn't incredible when it came to riding
Luckily, for Seraphine, she had her sword with her, and this did give her a sense of security although it wasn't much. Not everything could be handled by a sword. After confirming the horse wasn't breathing anymore, Seraphine first took in her state. Couple of wounds were present on her body, and her ankle had a soreness around it.Her clothes were torn around at certain places. Fortunately, she wasn't bleeding deeply or else she would be at a loss on how to do first aid.Elliot probably wasn't invincible, and that's why time would take for him to be actually aware that she was injured. Of course, she was giving him the benefit of doubt. There was a high chance he was having fun having her suffer and would only rescue her when she was at the brink of death. Then, she moved on to observing her surroundings. Everything around her was eerily silent, and not even a creature could be
Countless thoughts ran in her mind as she walked forward, and she was starting to get scared. Once again, she cursed the female lead halo on her head.Seraphine patted her chest in order to calm herself down and mumbled, "It's fine, Seraphine. Even though you experience traumatic shits, you have great luck! All of this will get better!"That's when, she took in a deep breath, and as she separated some vines, then stepping forward, she spotted a lake. This caused her to grin widely. She was beginning to get thirsty! However, what put her in a brighter mood was the surroundings. It was absolutely beautiful.Fireflies roamed around, illuminating the area. There were wild flowers of various colours and shapes growing around. Couple of bioluminescent mushrooms were growing on the sides, and each was in a different shade.Vines could be seen hanging downwards, and
Sweat dripped down Seraphine's forehead as she moved her sword around. The techniques learned by Blair were different from the ones Seraphine had practiced previously. Some of Seraphine's method were in the style of Vougeious family, and in order to not seem suspicious, Seraphine tried her best to apply Blair's ways smoothly. At the same time, this did get her mind off of many things. Seraphine did have exceptional control over her emotions, and because of this, all the depressing thoughts were out of her mind.It was as if she felt truly apathetic. Even her sword didn't give her the thrill it usually did.As Seraphine stabbed her sword into the tree, deep breaths escaped from her, and she supported herself by holding onto her sword. It seemed that she had overexerted herself as her ankle began to hurt tremendously. It seemed her rash actions had worsened the condition. But at le
"Fair enough. I would love to chat with you more, but unfortunately, work calls for me," he vocalised.Seraphine nodded. If she was still Seraphine, she would be quick to befriend this man. But as Blair, she couldn't take the risk.Following that, their training was done, and Seraphine knew their squad would be handed a new mission as this was finished. The leader is the one responsible for relaying their mission to them and allocating the tasks. It was because the leader sabotaged Blair lots of times that she didn't manage to receive any recognition for the job she did until now. It wouldn't be going too far to say her teammates were incompetent in comparison to her.Seraphine wasn't planning to get taken advantage of by her teammates like this, but she wasn't able to think of a way out of this.°°°Cornered, Seraphine stared
Actually, Seraphine didn't have much expectations from Arnold. Although he gave off a gentle and amiable impression, it was just a front. Seeing how high of a position he had, it wasn't unlikely for him to be cunning."Is that so? Then, I am planning to raise a complaint officially and quit. That squad wouldn't have half of their accomplishment without me," Seraphine bluntly said. She was raised preciously. Although being a knight was her dream, it wasn't worth enough for her to be bullied or endure unfair treatment. As for other responsibilities, she could think of something else to handle them."Aren't you being arrogant?" he raised one of his eyebrows. This caused the corner of Seraphine's lips to raise upwards and proudly voice out, "I am being honest. I don't even know why those useless people were recruited."Seraphine shook her head at the end."Do I l
Seraphine wasn't exactly unperturbed despite the confidence she displayed outside. Inside, she was nervous about the outcome. But growing up, she never mistreated herself and didn't wish to do that now either. It seemed that Arnold was in a rather pleasant mood for he didn't take offense and even smiled. The smile didn't appear to be malicious."What do you suggest then?" he raised one of his eyebrows.Seraphine pursed her lips into a thin line, pretending to think for a while prior to responding, "Well, it would be troublesome to ask me to change teams, and of course, it can't be assured such a situation would occur again.Punishing them wouldn't work either. It would only cause them to mess with me further. Thinking like this, why don't you just let me work solo? I think I am competent enough for it.""You want to work alone?" he questioned.
Not judging the place further, Seraphine inserted the key and unlocked the door. Pushing open, she stepped inside and observed the interior.Although the furniture was old, at least everything seemed neat and clean. Her sister probably took good care of it.Closing the door behind her, she called, "Ashley!?"She did find it awkward to call the name familiarly in the beginning, but after a couple more tries, she was able to get used to it. After all, Seraphine's ability to adapt was amazing. At the sound, the door to a room opened, and a head peaked out. Seraphine's eyes fell on the frail beauty. Ashley had ash-brown hair that flowed to her waist and a pair of similar coloured eyes.Maybe because of her sickly nature, she had pale skin. Instead of it being unattractive, it made her appear to be a delicate beauty. One glance at her was enough to raise one's protective
