Chapter 6(not heard?)

2 days after… Lily woke up before the alarm clock could make a buzz. Taking a bath and putting on a light-coloured dress, she walked inside the kitchen prepared some Pancakes and scrambled egg, a platter of fruits and with apple juice and orange juice for breakfast.

She went to her brother’s room and knocked it, when it was opened, she saw him all dressed up to go school. He was shocked to see her awake earlier, he smiled at her.

“Good morning, Sister, did you sleep well? I was about to make breakfast for us and wake you up” he said and she smiled at him pinching his cheek.

“I made breakfast for us already, and I can see you are ready to go already” she said and he nodded happily. They both walked to their dining hall and sat down to eat.

“Mmmmmm yum yum yummy. It’s been long I had your yummy pancakes sister” he said engrossed in eating the breakfast.

“I’m sorry, I couldn’t prepare for you for a long time” she said with a sad face recalling how her relationship with Robert ruined her beautiful times with her brother.

He noticed her sad face and patted her to comfort her,

“It’s ok sister. There’s nothing to be sad, you have always given your love for me and that’s enough for me” he said and she sighed patting his hand.

“Ah, forgot to ask. Are you headed somewhere? You seem to be dressed for going out” he said and she nodded her head.

“where else other than the museum “ she said and before she could complete her sentence he cut her off with a frown.

“What? No, sister I told you to quit the job. Please listen to me and quit the job” he said with full of worries on his face, she smiled and said,

“yea, I’m going to the museum to quit the job properly “ she said and he sighed in relief.

After the breakfast, they parted their ways to go. On the way to the museum, she kept on talking to herself boosting herself to face the devil she once thought of as an angel.

She reached the museum as early as possible not to encounter with her bullies mainly Robert, she wanted to leave the resignation letter on his desk and leave the place quietly.

She saw none arrived and wondered whether she came to the museum in holidays. The entire place looked like it was deserted.

She walked to Steve’s place and found his desk also empty with no trace of him arrived. She started wandering around and soon her eyes fell on the statue region.

Her mind suddenly hinted the new sculpture and she started walking fast to look at it. She herself found it strange for the sudden interest arose in her.

When she reached, she saw a cat dangerously walking towards the sculpture and about to cause the sculpture to fall down in destroying it.

She ran towards it and in a swift motion, she caught the statue and with the great effort she pushed it back to its place.

Placing her left hand on the statue and placing her right hand over her forehead she breathed heavily. She searched for the cat that caused the accident in fury, and found that was nowhere found in that hall.

‘Thank you'

She heard a voice suddenly and looked around to see who it was and found none.

“huh? That’s strange. I thought I heard someone thanking me” she said to herself aloud and shrugged her shoulders.

‘Did.. Did you hear me’ came again a voice.

“Who.. who is there. Stop playing hide and seek and come out” she yelled at the blank area where only her and the statues were.

‘you did heard me right. How is that possible?’

“Guys, please I’m sick about playing this. Whoever it is stop it and come forward “ she yelled frustrated thinking her bullies are trying to scare her.

‘mmm lady, there is no one except you and me. And I’m standing right Infront of you’ the voice said again and she turned to search for the person.

“whe.. where are you?” she asked little trembling.

‘well Infront of you.. as a statue’ the voice said and she gasped loudly closing her mouth with both of her hands.

“No. No. No no, how can a statue talk. Unless it’s possessed or I’m going insane” she talked in panic.

And she didn’t hear any more of the voice and she laughed nervously.

“See guys, ha ha. I’m not falling for your tricks. Can you please come out” she said tucking her hair behind her ears nervously.

Still, she didn’t hear anything or anyone come out of any places, she thought for seconds will there be a speaker kept on the statue and through that people are trying to fool her?

So, she tiptoed on her foot, holding the statue she inspected the statue for speakers.

‘you can only hear me, when you touch me’ the voice said suddenly and she jerked almost falling down.

Bending down, she patted her chest where her heart beats frantically. After calming herself she stood up and saw the statue in horror.

She touched the hands of the statue and spoke,

“umm.. is.. is it really you “ she asked looking at the statue.

‘yes it’s really me’ the voice said and she looked at it baffled.

“how.. how.. ahhh. Are you a ghost” she asked in horror backing away little. Since she heard nothing afterwards, she moved forward a little and touched the hand remembering the voice words earlier.

‘I.. I’m not a ghost. Believe me’ the voice said little frustrated.

“Wow.. but how.. how could you talk. Who are you and what are you? Is it magic or like in stories that you have been cursed to become a statue “ she asked in excitement, the voice didn’t talk back for sometime.

Waiting for the response for a long time she checked whether she is holding the statue properly and tightened her hold on the statue even more.

“umm.. sorry, did I say something wrong” she asked worriedly.

‘yes, I am a normal being like you but was cursed’ the voice said sadly and she gasped loudly.

“Oh my God, is there something real like curse and magic in this world” she asked out of curiosity.

‘well, it’s there. I’m actually Curious how you are able to hear me’ the voice said and she shrugged her shoulders.

“how will I know. Wait, does that mean no one could hear you and no one heard you till now?” she asked surprised.

‘yes, no one heard me’ the voice said with overwhelming sadness.
