"I know it's hard to digest every information I told you but I'm really so--"
"Emily."
"Yes?"
"You married yourself to a hot hell king; what are you sorry for?"
Her mother beamed at her, making wrinkles form at the edges of her eyes. She had her black hair---highlighted with gray---tied up in a messy bun. She paired her white oversized shirt with black dolphin shorts.
Despite of her age, she would never think how wrinkles would form on her face when she smiles and no matter how many strands of gray hair would grow. She enjoys life how she wanted it to be.
Emily looked at her mother, dumbfounded. She became hesitant when she heard her mother's words; she wasn't expecting her mother to accept and digest things in such a short matter of time. And as a parent, she needs to be strict and scold her daughter for being involved in anyone's problems.
"Mrs. Davis, I'm very sorry for all this." Lucius placed a plate of piled freshly-baked cookies on the counter table.
"No, child. I completely understand your situation. Please do call me Victoria."
"Thank you, Victoria."
Emily shrugged her shoulders as she let her fingers capture a cookie. She pulled it closer to her mouth and inhaled the aroma, almost making her stomach roar in hunger.
Taking a bite, she closes her eyes to shrug her thoughts off and only to focus how precious the cookie is.
"You're a good cook, Lulu."
"Wait Lulu?!" Emily snapped, she glared at her mother who was smiling at Lucius with a bitten cookie on her hand. Her eyes then glared at Lucius who seemed to have given his smile back to her mother.
"Are you two flirting?!"
"Oh no, honey. It's called acceptance and happiness." Her mother looked at her, still with a smile on her face then she winked.
She shivered, "You're disgusting. We're goi-- err, not just you mom. Both of you are disgusting."
She hopped off from the kitchen stool and grabbed a few more cookies, "Come on Lucy, we need to go shop for clothes."
"Please do remind me, wife."
"Remind you what?" Emily asked nonchalantly at him. She walked ahead and lifted her chin up to look at the signages of stores as she passes by.
"Why we need to 'shop'?" Lucius' patience have become slimmer and slimmer every minute.
Emily stopped in front of a restaurant. The scent of pizza wafted around her, she straightened herself up as she hears her stomach roar. "I'm going in!" She whispered to herself with her face ready to dive in to five pizzas.
"No."
She turned to her left and looked at him with her eyes screaming in anger and nose letting out smoke, "Who are you to tell me 'no'?" She stomped towards him and poked his chest. "Who. Are. You. To. Tell. Me. 'No'?"
Lucius heaved a loud sigh and dropped his arms to his sides, "You wanted to shop, we shop."
"But pizza ne–"
"Pizza can wait."
She stomped in her place twice, her hands clencing on her sides and she gritted her teeth, "You-- You--!" Loss of words; she closed her eyes and inhaled then exhaled heavy breaths.
"People are watching." Lucius spoke which made her eyes open and land on his shaking head, obviously ashamed on how they caused the scene which attracted many people.
Stomping again, she finally turned and continued looking up at the signages.
A few minutes had passed and her anger had completedly washed away. Lucius had himself on her tail; lost in thoughts but managed to keep himself following Emily.
He bumped against a shoulder, followed by a loud swearing word, "Oi, watch where you're going mate!"
"Sorry." Lucius tilted his head and smiled at the man.
"I don't accept that easily mate. 1 On 1?" The man clenched his fists and began hopping from one foot to another, punching his fists to the air in front of Lucius' face to threaten.
Lucius narrowed his eyes at him then sighed, "No violence, mortal."
"Mortal? What are you then? An Immortal? Ha!" The man raised his voice, pointing his finger to Lucius.
A crowd had formed itself, circling the men. A few mumbling and gossiping can be heard.
"Lucius!" Emily pushed past the thick crowd, bumping and pushing that blocked her way and as soon as she reached the center, she immediately held Lucius' hand. She looked at him pleadingly, mouthing him to come with her.
"Is that his girl?"
"Perfect couple!"
Emily blushed and wrapped her fingers around his wrist. She pulled him away from the crowd and they started to run.
They huffed along the way, stopped to two stores but Emily wasn't satisfied with the clothes. Finally, they stopped in front of a store with her fingers still wrapped around Lucius' wrist, "This is it." She whispered to herself as she tries to catch her breath from running.
In front of them stood a massive store with a signage written with M'sW. Inside it are where clothes, jeans, perfumes and any other things a man either need or want were placed.
Emily pushed open the glass doors and stepped inside, grinning. Lucius followed inside with a grimace.
"Good noon, costumers." A handsome man stood in front of them. He had his blonde neck-length hair slicked back, he wore a black tuxedo and a blue sling with an Identification Card attached to it.
"David?" Emily smirked at him.
"Em? Is that you?" He flew his arms open and squeezed her tightly with a smile on his face.
"You look handsome!" Emily giggled as she pulled away first, observing him with her mouth agape.
"You changed!" David carresses Emily's right cheek, amused by how her skin had changed.
"Excuse me."
Both Emily and David faced Lucius with giggles escaping their lips.
"Lucius! This is David, my cousin!" Emily introduced, jumping up and down in joy.
"Whatever." Lucius groaned and walked away to the jeans section.
Emily and David shared confused looks but shrugged off then followed Lucius from behind.
"What is the main reason why you're working here in M'sW instead in a restuarant?" Emily wiggled her eyebrows at him.
"Restaurant costumers are loyal. M'sW has bad boys and players, especially yummy ones." David neared Lucius, slapping his butt cheek once.
"Fiery Hell, did you just--?" Lucius turned and sent David a glare.
The smell of pizza wafted through the air inside Roberto's Pizzeria. Costumers chatterings filled the store and a smooth jazz music played through the little box-shaped speakers attached on every ceiling corner.
A ham and cheese pizza lay before her, topped with extra mozzarella cheese and her eyes sparkled.
Emily picks out a slice of pizza and munches, letting her eyes droop as she lets the mozzarella cheese melt in her mouth. She moaned in delight then swallowed. "I'm marrying you." She whispers exclusively to the spizza.
She notices Lucius looking at her in disbelief, "Are you serious?"
Munching again, she pointed the bitten pizza at him and rolls her eyes, "If it was illegal, I would. But if I would, I'll end up eating my husband so, I changed my mind. Thank you for the question."
As she was about to devour the whole slice of bitten pizza in front of his face, she tensed when the mozzarella on his' pizza began to slide down, "You've been holding on to that poor little baby for centuries! Eat it!"
"Eat this?" He gestured to the pizza on his hand and cringed, "It's awful."
At that moment, Emily shoved the pizza in her mouth and slammed her hand on the table. A lot of costumers stopped chattering and faced them, listening intently. Swallowing, she pointed her finger at Lucius and sent him her deathly glare, signifying that it's his doom, "You did not just--"
"I just did." He looked at her with a dull expression.
A chubby, cheeky short man came with his apron on. His face was round and he stretched his lips from ear to ear, "It is I, Roberto." He gestured to himself.
"Roberto, God of pizza." Emily mumbles to herself, "This guy here said that pizzas are awful!"
The smile on Roberto's face disappeared and commanded, "What did you say, boy?" He lifts his chin up slightly and widens his eyes.
Forcibly, Lucius munches on the pizza, he forced himself to let out a moan and restrained himself from cringing which was evident on how his eyes squinted, "I said it's awfully perfect!" He beamed at the chubby man.
Emily opens one eye, only to see a gray-colored wall, she gently lifts up her head to look at the window. A frown crept up to her face as she remembers that she didnt close the window last night; she forgot to. But now that it's closed, she chose to not worry about any longer then she turned to the other side. She expected for her mother to be there, standing and greeting her a good morning then plant a kiss on her forehead. But what she saw shocked her.Lucius.He had his right arm covering his eyes. His naked chest rising up and down slowly. Why is he here?Ignoring the question she has in mind, she wanted to take this opportunity. For a girl having no boyfriends since diapers, she needed to do this. With heavy breathing and heart beats shifting to a fast rate: she pursed her lips, gently lifting her head to rest on his chest and she snaked her arm across to cuddle."Last night was
Shifting to her left, Emily screams as she falls face flat on the ground, "I think I cracked my skull." She mumbles to herself. She places her palms against the floor and pushes. Pulling her feet slightly forward to bend her knees and she stands up and wears her slippers.Looking at the couch, she notices a small damp portion of the bed. Which caused her to pull her hand up to her face and wipe the saliva clinging on below her cheek. She wiped it again on her shirt and yawned. She wondered why she woke up in the couch instead of her bed. No one can carry her to the couch when it's only her and her mother living under the same roof.By twisting her body, stretching until her body warms and cracking of knuckles to hear the satisfying crack, a smile etched on her face.Skipping her way to the kitchen, she stops in front of the counter. Her mother had her back against Emily. She noticed her mother's hai
Throughout their dinner, they exchanged jokes, laughs and heartfelt smiles. Emily cuts her mother off, she groaned as she lightly pressed her right hand against her tummy.Emily stood up and gathered the plates, carrying them and placing them in the sink. She f
The clanging of white hexagonal plates made Emily cringe. She could still smell the pancakes they had for breakfast which was already down in their stomachs. As she placed a clean plate back in the dish rack, her mother whispered onto her ear. "We have something to talk."Emily turned to face her mother with a look of suprise. Victoria gave her a wink and she sighed."Emily, why don't you let Lucius watch your favorite movie?"
Four hours earlier, Emily had ordered five boxes of pizza which were now sprawled all over the floor. Four of the boxes were emptied and only one remained unopened. After Emily's last bite of her slice of pizza, the credits rolled. "Pass me the remote." She said, not moving her eyes away from the television.Out of the three of them, only Lucius occupied the couch whilst Emily and her mother sat beside each other on the floor. Taking the advantage of having all the couch to himself, he had his head resting on the armrest and his feet resting on the opposite sid
Lucius winced at the things David had done to him a few minutes earlier: he had given such flirtatious lines, nudged Lucius on his elbow, purposely dropped a slice of pizza on Lucius' shoulder, carressing Lucius' abdomen whenever David walks past him.Lucius sees every gender equally, yet David has just gotten himself in Lucius' core to the extent where he wants to punch him in the face for being annoying.
Lucius walked past the red-haired girl he just talked to and let her melt from the flirtatious lines he remembered from David. The lines were effective; however, he realized she was not the wife he was looking for. There was no connection. All he did were forlorn attempts; he has talked to a lot of women in only a few minutes yet the connection he needed to guide him just wasn't there. The red-haired screamed for his name, begging him to come back and asking why he just left so suddenly. He decided to ignore her and not let her pestering make him lose his temper; he needed to find his wife fast. As he walks towards the yacht, rather than the annoying, noisy, techno beats and the shouts of teenagers he was supposed to hear, he heard chanting.Tentatively, he stepped to where the chanting surfaced. It was a small crowd of both genders and the sexualities in between, some have glasses in their hands, some have plates of food, and some have cigarettes. He scrunched h
They drove off. The street lights and the car lights were the only ones that illuminated the place. Together with the soft music on the radio, David's sniffs filled the car.Emily, feeling humiliated, soaking and reeking of vodka, let herself lost as she watches the outside world through her window pass by.One beach party was enough. She swear to not join any parties anymore; she'll make a fool out of herself. She's dealt with so much humiliation in her entire life that she prefers to be locked inside the house and never bother opening the doors to be greeted with people.
Emily held the bouquet of flowers in one hand and wiped the escaping tears from her eyes with the other. Gladly, she didn’t wear any make-up but a simple red tint on her lips. Her mind went back to reality quickly as soon as Mister Drake cleared his throat, asking for her attention.“Queen Emily?”She faced him and gulped down, “Yes?”
The words of the wicked couple that escaped their filthy mouths earlier at breakfast has been running inside Emily’s mind since then. If she’ll be killed hours after her wedding; it meant she’d be killed together with Lucius and Olivia; she wouldn’t be able to save them. Emily snapped right back to reality when a maid called out to her.“Y-yes?” Emily stuttered at the petite figure of the young maid - who Emily remembered that her name was Alexis. Alexis was the one that helped Emily we
“Queen Emily, wake up.” The gruffy voice of the butler woke her up. As she peeked an eye open to slowly adjust from the brightness, her eyes set upon a worried look of the butler. She couldn’t clearly remember anything, why she ended up here in bed.“I would like to apologize in behalf of Prince, I mean, King Axl for acting not like his usual behavior. And sorry for barging in your room; I’ve been standing outside for a few minutes but you still didn’t get up.” He bowed his head at her.
Emily watched him in horror. She came back to hell to witness Lucius and Olivia’s wedding and to have a proper farewell with them right after and, she anticipated that it would happen as what she wanted it to be. However, Axl became an obstacle both in her way and in her life. Losing both Lucius and Olivia shouldn’t happen but then, villains will always find a way to win.“So? You’ve got no more paths to cross to. Inasmuch as I, the almighty older brother with an incomparable bewitching handsome look, have opened up a path for you to walk on. All you have to do is marry me.” Axl gestured to himself and dra
Somehow, the tensed muscles of Emily’s body relaxed. She blinked a few times as what she had heard. “You locked them up? Why would you lock them up? Lucius needs to be wed as soon as possible; he’s losing his powers and he’s becoming…” Emily glanced down on the floor and lifted her eyes back to the spine-chilling unusual grey orbs of his. “…human.”“I knew you’d understand.” A smile of insanity marked itself on his face. Her heart seemed to beat in
Emily and Olivia helped Lucius as they walk up from the stairs. Lucius was getting heavy and weak. He tripped over a few treads of the stairs and gladly, they reached the second level of the house. He told them to carry him to Emily’s room where he had concealed the symbols of the door to the underworld.Emily felt a slight pain from inside her and it must be only the hunger she’s feeling. She hasn’t eaten since last night. She couldn’t stop thinking about living the rest of her life with her mother in normalcy. Now that it’s confirmed, the wish she’s been wishing to come true since it all started is finally becoming true.
Olivia’s brows elevated by themselves as she heard Emily’s words. This matter that she wants to solve with Emily requires nothing other than tackling it with her anywhere than inside Emily’s house. Olivia may have picked a fight with Emily in their high school years until presently and she swore to never visit them in their house nor lay her eyes on their family. “We can always talk about it here outside your house. All I wanted to know is if Lucius lost his mind or, was he telling the truth.” Olivia insisted.
“When?” Lucius asked. “T-tomorrow I guess?” Olivia’s voice trembled. He sensed she was getting worried and so is he. Beads of sweat formed and slowly rolled down from his forehead. He doesn’t understand what he’s feeling presently. Olivia could be worried that he could be either nuts and have a slight mental defect or he could have just been watching too many fairy tale movies in his entire life.
The three of them arrived at the house. As they went through the door, they were greeted with dust on the floor and a dim interior part of the houses. “Well, go unpack your things for we’ll be cleaning the whole house,” Victoria announced.“What about breakfast?” Emily asked with a hand over her tummy.“Let’s skip breakfas
