Lucius pulled away and turned to face the audience, dragging Emily along. He raised his right hand–a gesture to silence them. While his left arm is still on her waist, he pulled her close and left a kiss on her temple.
Emily glanced at him and she looked away slightly, the redness in her face never leaving and her lips felt swollen due to the kiss.
The crowd silenced, waiting for their king to speak.
"My fellow subjects," His voice came out whole and serious, "Me and your Queen will spend our honeymoon for a month. I will leave my brother, Prince Axl, to you all."
The crowd remained silent. He travelled his arm down from Emily's waist to her hand and intertwined his fingers with hers. She looked up at him in confusion and suprise whilst he look down on her in amusement.
"Honeymoon? Lucius we didn't agree to this." She pulled her hand away from his hold, anger painting all over her face.
This guy can't be serious.
"Mister Drake." Lucius said–seemingly speaking to no one in particular. He disappeared with Emily along with him in a blink of an eye.
As soon as they left, Mister Drake, the head of the council, stepped forward and cleared his throat, "Thank you all for coming to witness the marriage."
And with that, the audience parted to their ways; witches laughing, creatures mumbling and others chattering.
They appeared in Emily's room. She sat on the couch, refraining herself from clenching her hair; she didn't want to look messy.
"Don't tell me that we're really making babies; I'm too young!" She exclaimed with her arms thrown to the air.
"Relax, we'll be looking for my destined wife."
"Oh." Her voice laced with both despair and relief. She didn't utter another word, instead, she stood up and walked to where a huge mirror stood, beside her wardrobe.
"Why am I entitled as Queen when I don't have a crown? Neither do you." She stood in front of the mirror, her eyes looking at him through it.
"We don't need crowns; only royal blood."
"I'm not royal and I'm not even your 'destined wife'."
Lucius frowned, "As long as only you, Axl, and I are the only ones that know about this secret, we'll be fine." He stood up, "And the maid said she's sorry for not letting you see yourself." He cleared his throat and walked to stand beside her, facing the mirror.
She watched herself in utter awe, "I'm speechless." Her eyes scanned herself through the mirror. she has the merest hint of makeup–a tint applied to her cheeks and lips. Her black hair curled down to perfect waves. Her eyes travelled down to the dress hugging her curves perfectly. It was a celestia gothic dress; the off-shoulder exposed her pale skin, long-sleeved that reached to her wrists and the V-cut had revealed her cleavage and reached down to her belly button. She wore a pair of black 2-inched block heels.
"So was I." His words broke out more like a whisper.
She smirked at his words and observed him through the mirror. His hair was slicked back perfectly, not a single strand of hair went out of place, he wore a tuxedo.
Handsome as always.
She shook her head to set her thoughts aside and a train of goosebumps travelled throughout her body.
"What's wrong?" Lucius asked.
"Oh, nothing." She replied cheekily at him through the mirror and he smiled at her back.
"So, my flaws went poof!," she gestured in the air, "How did it happen?" She now faced him, with her right brow raised and her head slightly tilted at him.
"I sold your soul to the devil." He replied bluntly at her. They exchanged stares but their eyes hold different emotions. His eyes looked down on her, too serious, not a squint can be seen. While Emily's eyes welled up, she bit her lip, preventing a sob but it came out against her will.
"I never.." She got cut off by a sob, "Why would y–", her tears streamed down her cheeks. She raises her palms to her face, letting her tears flow and sobs escape her lips.
Lucius brows knitted together as his hands rest on both of her shoulders, "No, no, don't cry."
"I never knew that selling my soul to the devil would make me flawless! I love it!"
He stared at her with his brows still knitted but this time, his eyes too, had widened, "You've got to be kidding me."
She sniffed and pulled away her hands down to her gown, wiping her tear-soaked palms, "Why?" She sniffed again. Her eyes, red and slightly puffy. Her cheeks showed streaks of tears and her nose became slightly pink.
"You'd sacrifice your soul to be pretty?" His jaw slightly dropped at her.
"Of course. Is something wrong?" Her breath hitched. Selling her soul to the devil was the perfect idea to make her flawless, but there could be a catch; a consequence she must face.
"I didn't sell your soul to the devil." He chuckled as one edge of his lips pulled itself upwards. He retreated both his hands to himself.
"Pardon?"
"I made you drink my blood."
"I'm a–," She gulped, "–vampire now?" She flashed him her smile that reached for miles.
Lucius laughed, he lift his hand to wipe escaped tears with his finger. "My blood allowed your skin to regenerate. I noticed your scars when you were sleeping, and it was a perfect opportunity; your mouth was open."
She looked away, slightly flushed. She turned her back against him and plopped herself on her bed, "So, where do we find her majesty?"
"According to the scroll, she's a mortal." Lucius also plopped himself on the couch.
"A mortal.." Emily repeated his words, completely lost in her thoughts.
"But the scroll never mentioned that she's old, right? My aunt's 42 and a virgin."
"I don't do old ladies." He spoke loudly, irritation evident in his voice.
"Don't go grumpy, grandma. I'm sorry." Emily rolled her eyes with a smirk on her lips.
"Just go change, we're going to your world."
Emily held the bouquet of flowers in one hand and wiped the escaping tears from her eyes with the other. Gladly, she didn’t wear any make-up but a simple red tint on her lips. Her mind went back to reality quickly as soon as Mister Drake cleared his throat, asking for her attention.“Queen Emily?”She faced him and gulped down, “Yes?”
The words of the wicked couple that escaped their filthy mouths earlier at breakfast has been running inside Emily’s mind since then. If she’ll be killed hours after her wedding; it meant she’d be killed together with Lucius and Olivia; she wouldn’t be able to save them. Emily snapped right back to reality when a maid called out to her.“Y-yes?” Emily stuttered at the petite figure of the young maid - who Emily remembered that her name was Alexis. Alexis was the one that helped Emily we
“Queen Emily, wake up.” The gruffy voice of the butler woke her up. As she peeked an eye open to slowly adjust from the brightness, her eyes set upon a worried look of the butler. She couldn’t clearly remember anything, why she ended up here in bed.“I would like to apologize in behalf of Prince, I mean, King Axl for acting not like his usual behavior. And sorry for barging in your room; I’ve been standing outside for a few minutes but you still didn’t get up.” He bowed his head at her.
Emily watched him in horror. She came back to hell to witness Lucius and Olivia’s wedding and to have a proper farewell with them right after and, she anticipated that it would happen as what she wanted it to be. However, Axl became an obstacle both in her way and in her life. Losing both Lucius and Olivia shouldn’t happen but then, villains will always find a way to win.“So? You’ve got no more paths to cross to. Inasmuch as I, the almighty older brother with an incomparable bewitching handsome look, have opened up a path for you to walk on. All you have to do is marry me.” Axl gestured to himself and dra
Somehow, the tensed muscles of Emily’s body relaxed. She blinked a few times as what she had heard. “You locked them up? Why would you lock them up? Lucius needs to be wed as soon as possible; he’s losing his powers and he’s becoming…” Emily glanced down on the floor and lifted her eyes back to the spine-chilling unusual grey orbs of his. “…human.”“I knew you’d understand.” A smile of insanity marked itself on his face. Her heart seemed to beat in
Emily and Olivia helped Lucius as they walk up from the stairs. Lucius was getting heavy and weak. He tripped over a few treads of the stairs and gladly, they reached the second level of the house. He told them to carry him to Emily’s room where he had concealed the symbols of the door to the underworld.Emily felt a slight pain from inside her and it must be only the hunger she’s feeling. She hasn’t eaten since last night. She couldn’t stop thinking about living the rest of her life with her mother in normalcy. Now that it’s confirmed, the wish she’s been wishing to come true since it all started is finally becoming true.
