Attack

Ever since that day, Seven could not sleep. It’s been a week yet it crossed his mind like it was a day ago. All preparations were put in place to ensure everything could go well, however, nothing seemed to go well with Seven. He had lost his mother and his mate. For his Father’s love and approval, he chose Stephanie as his mate. 

His father had convinced him that his mother’s anger was only going to last for a day but it turned out to be wrong. His mother had been angry ever since then and true to her words, she never called him her son anymore.

What was worse? She hardly came out of her room. She stopped giving Seven the early morning kiss she would give, after all, he was not her son any longer and his father was too busy to help him appeal to his mother. He could forfeit everything but not his mother. He was to be made the Alpha on his twentieth birthday, a day after Hazel’s birthday.

Seven had met Stephanie about three times ever since that night and they had got to hang out and talk a lot but she was not as intelligent as Hazel. Although she was more enticing physically, she lacked a lot intellectually compared to Hazel. 

Seven could not help but think he had made one of the greatest mistakes in his life. 

Hazel could not help but think about Seven but the only thought she had was to see him beg for mercy at her feet. At times, she would cry.

She could not help it nor could she deny the fact that she was deeply in love with him despite trying to hide it. 

Her father had begun to teach her a lot of things since she was going to be the next Alpha. In celebration, he had thrown a party that was to last for three days since he finally had his hair back. Although he tried to hide it, he had always been worried about who would succeed him and reign after him as she was his only child hence his only heir.

Just like preparation was going on in the Bright Moon Park, so was the preparation for the attack going on in Hazel’s park. Seconds rolled into minutes and minutes into hours and hours into days.

“What are you doing out here? Why are you here all alone?” Alpha Jon Stiff interrupted his daughter who sat on a chair in the garden, gazing at the stars. The same stars she was gazing at when Seven broke the news. Memories rushed through her mind and tears gently fell from her eyes. 

“You still love him, you just do not want to admit” she heard her wolf say. It was true. She loved him but she could not admit it. How could she love someone who didn’t love her? How could she say she still loved someone who betrayed her that much? It was unheard of. 

“No, I don’t” She defended as she wiped the tears that flowed freely from her eyes. She could not lie, she was deeply in love with him.

“What are you doing out here? Why are you here all alone?” Alpha Jon Stiff interrupted his daughter’s thought. Her mind had wandered far away. 

“Father! You startled me” She held her chest in fear as she looked back at him. 

“I am sorry, I didn't mean to. I was just wondering where you were.

Everyone is in there waiting for you, a lot of people want to see you, besides, and there are lots of single handsome and strong wolves there, you know” He smiled and winked at her. 

“Father” She giggled. “I do not want to meet anyone. After what Seven did to me, I doubt if I want to get into any relationship with anyone for now” She shook her head. 

“Come on, I know it might be hard for you to forget all that happened so easily and that is why I think you should pick one of the eligible bachelors out there so you can forget everything that happened so happened. Besides, today is the last day for the party so be a good girl and come with me” He smiled as he pulled her in. Even though she tried to resist him, it was very difficult for her. 

He managed to pull her but somehow, she was not comfortable. Her body sought revenge. Everyone boomed with loud music that one could barely hear a thing. 

Hazel searched for her mother but could not find her, perhaps, she had locked herself in her room. Hazel rolled her eyes. Nothing could stop her from getting her revenge. Still in thought, she was suddenly distracted by her father’s voice. Waking up to reality, she realized the music had been paused. 

“I crave your attention” He clicked a glass and stood at the center of the room. Getting everyone’s attention, he smiled.

“As you all know, this party was organized because of my daughter. My daughter and only child who had gone astray sometimes ago” He chuckled and everyone chuckled too.

“Not this” She rolled her eyes. She hated being in public eyes and what was funny?

“Okay, as I have said, this party that has lasted for three days and will be successfully ending today is in honor of my only daughter and heir, Hazel. A round of applause for her as she joins me here” He smiled at her as she walked to join him with a fake smile plastered on her face.

“Father, this is not necessary” She whispered under her breath as she stood by him. 

“It is necessary” He whispered back.

“I would like you all to see my beautiful daughter. I would also love to use this opportunity to inform all the good-looking and strong bachelors that my daughter is currently single and ready to mingle” He smiled.

“Dad” She managed to say through her teeth as she was flushed and embarrassed. Her face had turned red.

Like it was not enough, he continued “Of course, she is very much single and is ready to mingle. On this note, I would love to bring this party to an end, thank you all for celebrating with us for these few days. I appreciate you all for leaving your comfort zone to felicitate and jubilate with us.” He smiled. 

“Can I leave now?” She whispered as she was tired of being the center of attraction. Of course, she saw the way a lot of them checked her out and stole glances at her.

“No, you can't,” He whispered back at her.

“For those who want to marry my daughter, you can start visiting from tomorrow. Have a pleasant night everyone” He smiled and as expected, everyone clapped.

“Dad! Tomorrow? We have just six days to perfect our plan and exert revenge and you asked those guys to begin to come tomorrow?” She asked with worry glued to her face as she occasionally smiled at people who smiled at them as they left. Her father did the same and slowly, the crowd dissipated. 

“Do not worry about that. Everything is in place. All you need to do is get prepared” He smiled at her and walked away. 

Quickly, she ran to her room. She could not afford to meet with any stranger. No matter how hard she tried, Seven’s picture always crossed her mind. Her wolf would continually remind her that she was in love with him. 

Not wanting to think about it, she pulled the duvet all overall and dozed off into dreamland. 

“Good morning, Alpha Seven” Seven felt a soft palm on his shoulder as he was contemplating whether to remain in the dreamland or wake up to the harsh reality of the morning. 

“It’s morning, My Lord. Wake up, we have a lot to do today” The sweet sonorous voice pierced his ear like a sweet melody and when he was still trying to resist the voice, he felt the sweet sensational touch on his hand again. 

“Hazel” He smiled, still closing his eyes. There was a silence before the voice answered.

“It is me. Me, your mate. Stephanie”

“What!” Like someone struck by a thunderbolt he hurriedly got up. 

“Good morning, my Lord” She faked a smile. Truth is, she was highly disappointed. She had not expected her lover to mention Hazel’s name. He was supposed to mention her name instead but at the sound of her name, he flew up as if he had just been stung by the devil himself. It was saddening and of course, embarrassing. 

“Wh…What are you doing here and how did you get in? “He questioned as he grabbed the duvet closer, covering his upper body as his upper body was bare.

“In a day time, I would be your Luna. Do I not have the right to come to your room?” Her face was etched with worry and disappointment.

“Not at all” He cleared his throat “I was just startled to see you here” He scratched his head.

“ In a day time, there would be nothing for us to hide from each other” She blushed, and somehow, that irritated him but he just had to fake a smile.

“Of course”

“I made tea for you. It is ginger tea, your favorite. Would you like to have a taste?” She beamed with a smile. Just then did he realize a jug of tea had been placed by his side.

“Thank you, I would have it when I have my bath” 

“I cannot wait to have you all to myself” She smiled as she walked out of the room. 

“Why aren’t you having your breakfast?” Alpha Jon Stiff asked, watching his daughter play with the food.

“I am not hungry” She managed to say before placing her head on the table.

“Should I get to the doctor? I am sure it must have been the stress you had to go through or your wolf is sick because she misses her mate” The Luna suggested. 

“Stop spewing rubbish. “ Alpha Jon Stiff frowned at Luna who began to eat again.

“Should I get you the doctor?” Her father questioned.

“Not at all, father. I am fine. I believe I am just stressed, I would be fine” She smiled.

“Are you sure?”

“Yes, I am, father. I want to rest so I will be able to go with you tomorrow. I want to witness Seven’s fall. I want to see his father beg for mercy as his neck is being snapped” She demonstrated with her hands.

Luna paused her food as she looked at her daughter. When did her daughter become so vile and evil that lives did not matter to her anymore?

“You won’t miss a minute, my daughter, go have some rest” He smiled at his daughter and she smiled back, heading to her room.

Finally, the day arrived. The day everyone anticipated. The day for the mating ceremony. Seven looked at his reflection in the mirror and all he could see was a disappointment. He had let everyone down. He, his mother, and even his mated Luna. He sighed as he headed downstairs. The party was going to start.

Hazel sighed in relief. This was the night she had waited for. Her wolf became more tired daily and she could not tell why. Although she was not okay, she was determined not to miss that night.

“My son” Alpha Cloud embraced Seven as he was proud of him. Immediately, a guard ran in, panting heavily.

“My Lord, it's the Luna. Luna Christine. Luna Christine…”

“What happened to my mate?”

“What happened to my mother?”

“Luna Christine is dead” He finally revealed.

“What!” Their eyes widened in shock.

“My Lord, we are surrounded. Alpha Jon Stiff has attacked us” Another ran in to inform them.
