Temptation

The young man was a breathing, walking, stunning attraction, and very real, "I sure hope I see him again," Tippa uttered snickering.

But time went by, and Tippa had drawn the conclusion she would never see the guy again. People weren’t very friendly they barely spoke to one another.  Outside of Ms. Lauren, she was the only nice, polite person, and you could hardly call her friendly. It was tough because people are usually drawn to Tippa’s bubbly personality and friendliness. In the two months she has been here, not one person has been friendly; they all are polite, and that’s it. Tippa thought it was the saddest thing she’d ever seen but the pay was, as Ms. Lauren had stated, very good. And in just another month Tippa will be moving to her own apartment not too far from her job.

It was a Friday evening and Tippa had worked overtime preparing to leave the third floor in the building. Students were leaving the campus, it was around 6 pm.

The backstory to the second encounter:

It was a must that Ross gets home on time to attend his grandfather’s official retirement as director of the family-owned main hospital here in New York city. His mother was throwing this party in honor of his legacy that was about to be passed on to Ross’s father. He didn’t want to miss it.

Ross promised his grandfather he would be there no matter what. You see, his grandfather is not just his grandfather. He is also his mentor, ally, and friend. He was one of the few people in the family he respected and listened to. He’s been Ross’s alliance against his parents for as long as he can remember. He’s helped his grandson out of many tight spots. And so, Ross can't let him down on his special day.

So, the minute the professor dismissed the class, Ross took off running down the hallway to get to his car. But when he turned the corner of that same hallway. He saw the yellow mop bucket roll out into the corridor of the classroom. He smoothly swerved around it. But what he didn’t see was who followed it. Ross bumped smack dab into someone! Almost knocking them down to the ground!

He felt his six-foot-two-inch frame collide with someone much smaller than him! Instinctively he grabbed the person to his body as they both spun around! That way if he couldn’t hold his balance, he would break their fall. Ross was tall and solid and didn’t want his weight to crush the delicate body that was in his arms! During this collision, all he could see were stretched, large brown eyes with long lashes. As he investigated the female's face filled with fear! It appeared that everything was happening in slow motion in those few seconds.

It was the young lady whom Ross had been dreaming about for over a month! The girl was truly exceptionally beautiful! Even with a panic-stricken face! While he was glancing at her right now in this perilous moment, all he saw was this dark, wavy, thick hair with this colorful gold and pink scarf wrapped around it. She had big gold hoop earrings in her ears—skin smooth as silk, with pink lipstick on those full kissable lips. Her slender frame was smashed up against his solid one. Ross thought, “No lie! He’s dated many girls, and for the first time, a girl fitted perfectly against him in his arms. The minute everything stopped spinning, they found themselves still standing in an upright position.

Ross immediately said to her, “Sorry, so sorry, Miss.” He managed to utter this as he regained his composure while still holding her around her tiny waist, her leaning back.

“Are you okay?” he asked with concern, even as he steadied her upright.

“Um, yes, yes, I’m fine. Are you okay, sir?” Tippa asked, still shaken.

“I’m fine. Are you sure you are, okay?” he asked again, feeling his heart begin to race faster than its normal pace.

Ross saw his whole life flashing before him, and this girl was in every frame. Immediately, he was intrigued, even more attracted, and wildly curious. He had only seen her before once on campus and not anywhere else around the city. But he didn’t have time to talk to her right now. But he sure wanted to. But he did manage to say.

“The name is Tippa, right?”

“Yes! You remembered.” Tippa said smiling.

“Yes, who can forget a name so unique? Sorry about the mop bucket incident.”

“No problem.”

Cool, can I see you again,” he asked, smiling from ear to ear as she smiled back and nodded yes.

He had to hurry, so he ran to the parking lot, happier than he had felt in a long time.

Tippa stood there smiling from ear to ear. Then it dawned on her. “Wait! He asked to see me again! He doesn’t have my number or anything.”

Right then, Ms. Lauren walks up behind her. “If you value your job here, that young man, Mr. Ross Kincaid, you need to keep your distance from him at all costs. Do you understand?”

Tippa was confused, but she could tell by the expression on Ms. Laurens's face that she meant every word she was saying. So Tippa replied.

“Yes ma’am.”

“Good, you understand. Tippa, you are a good worker, and I would hate to have to let you go for not remaining in subordination.”

“Yes, I understand,” she replied. Wondering, “Hum…who is this Ross Kincaid that he must be avoid at all costs?”
