SAVED BY THE ALPHA

Elisa's POV 

5 DAYS LATER 

I flung my eyes open and it was immediately struck by a very bright light and damn it hurt badly. I groaned in pain and shut it back and opened it slowly once again. 

My head banged as my brain flooded down recaps of the previous events from how my mate rejected me and my cousin betrayed me to how I got attacked by guards or assassins as I would like to call them.

At this point, I wish I had amnesia and didn't recall anything as I woke up because my head was seriously banging with migraine, my heart was shattered and my eyes were gushing freely with tears.

I still can't believe I had loved this man with all my heart yet all I got to return was disdain. I had lived my life to please him and yet all my efforts went unappreciated.

“Why didn't you show me the SIGNS?? This man was about to betray me,yet how come did I not see it's coming?’’ I scolded my inner man, sobbing profusely.

“Girl, are you talking about SIGNS??, what SIGN exactly are you talking about?...the ones you did not see when he never agreed to sleep with you on the same bed even after 5 years of marriage??” My inner man fought back.

“Everyone's got their boundaries” I defended.

 “Ooh..I get it, so what of the ones you did not see when He kept introducing you as the head maid and not his mate in the presence of other Alphas from neighboring packs?”.

"He was just joking, " I defended again.

"Fair enough, he was also joking when he threw you the cup of hot coffee which you had woken up early to prepare for him with love, shattering the customized mug you designed for him on his birthday, so funny right? Such a great sense of humor” My inner man scorned.

Okay you are right, I mean I was RIGHT, I did see the signs and had been ignoring them all these while. I was even instructed by him to follow the maids to the market only for me to get back and see him getting mated to Selena. I remember how I had almost laid down my life for this guy twice during at yet all 

I should have realized it was time to leave all this while yet I waited until he got mated with my cousin right in my very own eyes. I'm such a fool. 

I cursed myself as I sobbed silently clutching the pillow that lay on my head.

It was the only comforting thing that I could come across, especially after what I had been through. I felt a bit of peace and resolve here. 

Wait, where the hell am I? I grew alarmed and turned around, observing my surroundings. This should be a hospital, I think. How did I get here?

The door flung open and a doctor with two nurses walked into my room. They were obviously discussing something before entering the room as the nurses were giggling.

“She must be very lucky” I heard one say,while smiling at me.

I was confused, why are they smiling and what does she mean by I'm very lucky?

“Ah, You are finally awake” The doctor said, finally facing me.

I said nothing, but just stared at them blankly.

“Send news to Alpha Nathan” He instructed,facing one of the nurses who ran out immediately with the hospital telephone, giggling like a 3-year old that was given good treats for Halloween.

Nathan..that name sounded familiar….

“What is your name?” The doctor asked me.

“Elisa… Elisa Woods” I replied.

“Awesome, you remember your name” The doctor grinned. “We were scared you wouldn't”

I stared blankly at the doctor, saying nothing. The doctor went further asking me more and more questions. 

As I kept responding to them , I started getting pissed. Was this a real doctor or some kind of poke nozer who wore a white coat to camouflage himself and mind other people's business?? This man was asking me serious personal questions and I wasn't about to reply to the next one he was trying to come up with. 

Suddenly, the door flung open and a man ran inside, like he was crazy.

“Doc!...I got a call that she has woken up,how is she doing?" He asked, gasping for air.

"Well you can see for yourself, she is doing perfectly fine and also woke up without amnesia which is such great news” The doctor smiled.

Who are these people and why was it their business if I was alive or dead anyways??

“With that being said, I'll just leave you love birds to catch up" The doctor said and left, and the nurses followed blushing and grinning from ear to ear.

“Excuse me doc?”

“Love what??”

“Catch up with who please?”

“Why the hell were these nurses blushing?”

“And why would I be left alone with a stranger?”

I had a hundred and one questions to ask for but for some reason I just nodded my head in approval as the doctor left.

“Hey, I'm really sorry for hitting you with my car. It was an accident, I'm very sorry. Please don't sue me” He pleaded in a whisper.

“Did you kidnap me?" I asked.

“No, why would I do that?" He asked, giving me a very startled look.

“So how did I get here?" 

“Well, I don't know what you were running from but what I know is that you weren't careful while crossing the road and I accidentally ran you over" He explained, looking very apologetic like a toddler who was sorry for breaking his mum's property. This man was so cute.

“So you brought me here?" 

“Yes I did" He replied.

“How much do I owe you?" I asked.

“You don't owe me anything, I just want you to relax, get better and go home, that's all"

I stared at him blankly, how was it possible that such good men exist and all I got was Roland? I was indeed cursed. Whoever was mated to this man should consider herself the luckiest woman on earth.

Well, I didn't have a home and there was no way I was going back to the Rowblood pack. I wasn't also planning to explain to him or worry him about that. He didn't have to care, besides he's done much already. Selling my both kidneys would not be able to afford the hospital bill he had paid for me.

“So my name is Nathan, and you are?” He asked extending his hand for a friendly handshake.

" Elisa Woods" I replied, shaking his hand.

“Nice to meet you Elisa" he smiled.

As he smiled I noticed he had a tattoo on his neck that looked really familiar. I could swear that I had seen this guy before. My brain was at serious work digging through my memories at this point. 

“Have we met before?" I was moved to ask. 

“Yes we have,some seconds after you got hit, why?” He asked. 

No dummy, I wasn't talking about after I got hit. I could remember seeing him in the scene after I got hit, but strangely enough, for some reason I could also remember seeing him in real life and some of my previous nightmares too.

Then it struck me immediately 

Was he who I thought he was???
