*Cynamon*

I stand at the kitchen counter, the scent of vanilla and chocolate wafting through the air, as I finish up the cupcakes. The soft glow of the setting sun filters through the large windows of our home, casting a warm hue over everything. I’m just putting the finishing touches on a batch of my signature cupcakes… lavender-infused with a hint of lemon zest… when Zac walks in again, his presence instantly igniting a flutter of excitement in my chest.

“Those smell incredible, babe,” he says, leaning against the doorframe, arms crossed. His eyes twinkle with that charming mischief I adore.

“Thanks! Just wait until you taste them,” I reply, trying to keep my voice steady while my heart races. I can’t help but sneak a glance at him. He is wearing that soft, faded T-shirt that hugs his muscles perfectly, and I feel a familiar tug of affection.

I hear a low growl in my mind, a playful voice that is both mine and not mine. 'He is looking at you like you’re his next meal,' Zyca tea

*Cynamon* The sprawling fields around the house unfurl like a golden sea, waves of tall grass dancing in the warm Texas breeze. As I walk, Blue trots ahead, his joyful barks breaking the tranquil silence that envelops us. The sun hangs low in the sky, casting a gentle light that feels almost magical. I take a deep breath, savoring the crisp, earthy scent of the outdoors, and glance down at my belly, round and full with the life growing inside me. I can’t wait to become a mother, and even more I can’t wait to make Zac a father. ‘Isn’t it beautiful out here?’ I think to Zyca who stirs with a gentle hum of agreement, I know she is looking forward to our baby’s arrival too. ‘Yes, it’s perfect. Just us and the open sky,‘ she replies, her voice a soothing balm amidst the whirlwind of my thoughts. ‘Even though I miss Zac.’ I can almost forget the weight of my pregnancy for a moment, the way it pulls at my center, and my lower back has started hurting especially in the evening, remin

*Cynamon* As the familiar voice slices through the tension, I turn, my heart racing, half in relief and half in disbelief. Cukier stands there, looking as rugged and wild as the Texas landscape itself. His blonde, almost white, hair hair tousles in the wind, a hint of mischief in his smile that feels both familiar and foreign after all this time. “Cynamon,” he says, stepping closer, his voice a blend of warmth and urgency. Zyka lets out a weird sound in my head, ‘It is Cukier… and Zalder.’ Zalder is Cukier’s wolf. Before I can respond any of them, he wraps me in a tight embrace, the kind that feels both protective and reassuring. I melt into him, breathing in the scent of home mixed with a hint of adventure. “I can’t believe it’s you!” I exclaim, pulling back to look into his eyes. “How did you find me?” Cukier’s expression shifts, a shadow crossing his face. “It wasn’t easy,” he admits, his tone serious now. “But I need to warn you.” My heart skips a beat, concern flooding my

*Zac* As I approach the house, the familiar sound of her voice drifts through the air, weaving its way around me like a warm embrace. I can’t help but smile, my heart swelling with fondness for Cynamon. I assume either Nick came over, or maybe LZ and Evangeline. Reaching the door, I pause briefly to take a deep breath, savoring the moment. Cynamon has transformed this house into a home, and I can’t wait to hear about her day. I reach for the doorknob, twisting it slowly as I push the door open. “Cynamon, I’m back!” I call out, my voice echoing through the cozy living room. But the voices stops abruptly, replaced by a sudden tension that hangs in the air. My eyes scan the room, landing on Cynamon and a tall figure leaning against the doorframe. My heart skips a beat as I take in the stranger’s rugged appearance: his tousled blonde hair, sharp jawline, and the way he carries himself with an air of confidence. “Hi… Who’s this guy?” I ask, the words slipping out before I can think,

*Zac* The sun dips low in the sky, casting a warm golden hue throughout the living room as I step inside, the familiar scent of home wrapping around me like a cozy blanket. But today, something feels distinctly off, but not in a bad way. “Cynamon?” I call out, my voice echoing softly. The house is unusually quiet, the usual sounds of her humming or the gentle clinking cookware from her baking conspicuously absent. As I walk further in, I spot her in the corner, surrounded by an array of pillows and blankets, her brow furrowed in concentration. It’s an adorable sight… like a bird carefully arranging her nest. I can’t help but smile at the endearing image. “What are you doing, love?” I ask, leaning against the doorframe, arms crossed and amusement dancing in my eyes. She looks up, a hint of surprise flashing across her face before she quickly masks it with a nonchalant wave. “Oh, it’s nothing. Just… tidying up.” But I see the way her fingers fidget with the fabric, how her gaze d

*Evangeline* I slide into the passenger seat of LZ’s car, the familiar scent of his cologne mixing with the fresh air from the open windows. My excitement bubbles over, and I can’t help but grin at him. “Did you hear? Cynamon’s having the baby soon!” I say, practically bouncing in my seat. LZ chuckles, his dark hair falling slightly into his eyes as he glances at me. “Yeah, Zac mentioned something about it. You know when he told me to go get you. He sounded a bit frantic. Are you sure we should be going over there now?” “Oh, come on! This is such a big moment for them, and they need all the support they can get!” I wave my hands dramatically. “Besides, Cynamon is asking for me! We’ll be like their little birthing squad! I can’t wait to meet the little nugget!” He laughs again, and I love how it makes my heart flutter. “You really are something else, you know that?” He shakes his head, a smile tugging at his lips. “But you’re right. They could definitely use our help.” I lean back

  • Healing a rogue princess   A bloodthristy fairy

*Zac* The abandoned warehouse reeks of mildew and despair, a fitting backdrop for our desperate meeting. Rain hammers the corrugated iron roof, mirroring the storm inside me. We had managed to get in contact with Cynamon's brother and set up this meeting. He had been in hiding after a near capture, which is the reason he had not been able to warn Cynamon. He had hoped they did not know where to find her. So here we are, pretending to make plans like some heroes in an action movie. Across a scarred wooden table sits Cukier, his slightly wolfish features etched with grim determination, his usually vibrant eyes shadowed with worry. Nick sits beside him, having come no questions asked when I called. Evangeline, perched on a crate, radiates an unnervingly calm energy, her wings neatly folded, a stark contrast to the tension in the room. “Cynamon was taken to the Blackwood compound,” Cukier’s voice is low and gravelly. “They’ve been consolidating captured werewolves there for months.”

  • Healing a rogue princess   Enter the fairy realm

*LZ* The moment Evangeline's wings envelop us, the world blurs into a cascade of light, the pressure of reality bending around us. It feels like being in a dream, yet more vivid, the air tingling with a magic that's almost overwhelming. As we emerge from the light, and her wings unfold, I find myself standing in a place that defies all logic. The air here hums with life, the sky a canvas of perpetual twilight, painted in hues that shift subtly as I watch. Trees stretch upwards, their branches knitting together, creating a canopy that feels like a protective embrace. The ground underfoot is soft, covered in moss that glows faintly, and every plant seems to pulse with an internal light. Evangeline leads the way, her voice soft but urgent. "Welcome to the sanctuary, LZ. We must move quickly." The landscape is surreal, with flowers that emit their own light and creatures so small they could fit in the palm of my hand, flitting about with wings that leave trails of color. Clementine,

*Zac* The clearing is eerily quiet as Evangeline and I arrive, her wings folding gracefully behind her. The signs of struggle are evident… trampled grass, scattered leaves, and the unmistakable impression of helicopter skids in the earth. My heart pounds in my chest, each beat a reminder of the urgency pressing down on us. I crouch down, running my fingers over the disturbed ground. "I need to go after them," I say, my voice barely a whisper. The realization that Cynamon was taken from this very spot tightens something in my chest. Fear and frustration coil within me, threatening to unravel my composure. Evangeline stands beside me, her presence a strangely comforting anchor. "We’ll find her, Zac. But we need to be smart about it.” When I don’t respond she continues. “I know you are very capable, but you are human… they literally have an army.” I know she is right of course, so I nod, trying to rein in the panic clawing at my insides. My mind races, jumping from one thought to th

  • Healing a rogue princess   Spreading her wings

*Zac* The drive back to the house is filled with the usual banter between LZ and me. He's recounting his latest comedic misadventure he had while trying to film the perfect sunrise and ended up filming Blue doing his morning toilette. Our laughter echoes in the car as I pull into the driveway, looking forward to a quiet day with Cynamon and Clementine. As we step out of the car, the calm air is suddenly disturbed by a rush of wind. We both look up, startled, as a figure descends from the sky. My heart skips a beat when I realize it's Evangeline, her wings shimmering in the sunlight as she gently lands in front of us, cradling my daughter, Clementine, in her arms. "Evangeline?" I blurt out, my voice tinged with disbelief and concern. My eyes flicker between her ethereal wings and my daughter, who seems perfectly content in her arms. "What... how?" I know I should be more surprised by the whole having wings and flying things, but dating a werewolf might toughen you up… also right no

The soldiers step out of the shadows, their presence a stark contrast to the peaceful morning we were enjoying moments ago. My heart races as I see the determination and hate in their eyes, and I know that this is not a figh easily won. I turn to Cynamon, my voice firm yet filled with urgency. "Cynamon, trust me with Clementine. I can keep her safe. You need to focus on defending yourself." Her eyes meet mine, a silent understanding passing between us. She nods, and I quickly lift Clementine from the stroller, cradling her protectively in my arms. The tiny girl gazes up at me, her innocent eyes unaware of the danger surrounding us. "I'm sorry I haven't told you," I say, my voice barely above a whisper, but there's no time for more words. I let my secret unfold as I spread my wings, the shimmering, ethereal appendages unfurling from my back. I see the shock in Cynamon's eyes, but there's no time to dwell o

The vibrant colors of autumn leaves blanket the ground, crunching softly underfoot with each step we take. Clementine gurgles happily, her tiny fingers reaching out to grasp at the golden rays of sunlight filtering through the trees. "She's growing so fast," Evangeline remarks, her eyes filled with warmth as she looks at Clementine. I nod, a smile playing on my lips. "She truly is.
