Chapter 174 Losing Rosy

I raced madly to Rosy’s apartment building with my heart in my hand.

When I arrived, my heart shrank in dismay at the crowd gathered outside the building. I swallowed hard and made to walk closer, but a strong grip on my wrist stopped me.

I spun around and glared at Mario in anger, parting my lips to lash out at him.

“Rosy isn’t in there,” he muttered and my brows furrowed as fear gripped my heart.

“Where is she?” I demanded, panting heavily.

Mario’s face paled and he looked away guiltily, avoiding my wide eyes.

“Where is she?” I repeated in a loud voice.

“She’s in the morgue.”

I batted my lashes, scared of what he had just muttered.

Or did I hear wrong?

I prayed that it wouldn’t be what I heard as I told him to repeat his answer.

He drew back and sighed out loudly, trying to stop the tears that glistened in his eyes.

“Rosy Connor is dead!”

My feet suddenly felt wobbly, unable to support my body anymore.
