CALEB

I hummed softly as the ticking sound of the clock filled the room. The chair I was sitting on rocked back and forth, giving off a peaceful sensation.

The short yet worthwhile moment that I spent with Rosy lingered in my mind, causing a smile to form on my face.

I wondered what Evan could be doing to her at the moment. I couldn’t wait for everything to end so that I could get my Rosy back to me.

I will do everything to get her back, everything.

I nodded my head at the thought, swearing to do just as I had thought.

The cause of Madam Helen’s death sneaked into my head and I began to wonder if Evan had a hand in it.

If Evan has a hand in it then it will certainly lead me to my greatest fear. I hope I am not right and I also hope that I am.

If my suspicions turn out to be true, then I will have another enemy to contend with.

The door creaked open and Mario trudged in, staring down at the phone in his hand.

“Evan isn’t home yet, thankfully,” Mario muttered and slum

Caleb was right all along.Even the designs on that board and card all belonged to Veronica. She has been working with Evan, stabbing me cruelly behind my back, she has been one of the eyes watching me.She has been nothing but a traitor, a betrayer.I heard the front door open and slammed shut, and soon, the sound of Veronica’s irritating footsteps filled the room.I paused the video and shifted my phone away before pouring out the red fruity wine into the two glasses on the table.Veronica walked into the living room, wearing a wide smile on her face.I stared at he

ROSY I swiftly spun around and sighed in relief when Caleb sneaked in. He looked around before walking up to me. “The maids?” He asked. “I sent them out for a break; they won’t be back until tomorrow,” I responded. His brows raised as he stared at Veronica’s cold body. “Is she still alive?” He asked and I shrugged my shoulders. “I don’t know.” He plodded towards her and knelt beside her as he searched for a pulse. He breathed out after a while and looked at me “She is still breathing,” he muttered and my stomach churned. I wished that she had died. I didn’t want her alive, I wanted her dead. Everything that she said to me and all the secrets that I have shared confidently with her came bouncing into my eyes, making me break down into tears. I felt Caleb’s large hands wrap around me from behind. “It is okay, it’s just a matter of time,” he graced my neck with his hot breath. How can it be okay when the people you trusted the most turn around and hurt you ev

ROSYI clenched my fist behind me as I glared contemptuously at him.“You locked Daisy in here, didn’t you?” I rasped, heaving in anger. My blood boiled as a smirk danced at the corner of his lips.“I knew you would try to look for Daisy here, but sorry to disappoint you, your little princess isn’t here anymore,” he grinned, taking a step towards me.“Where is Daisy?” I asked, shifting back.“All I have to say is that she is safe,” he muttered, tilting his head sideways.“How can you be so heartless, how can you lock a little girl in here?” I snapped in a quivering voice.Evan stared around the room like he was there for the first time and chuckled unremorsefully.“She deserved it anyways; what are you going to do about it?” his snickering made me want to smash his head on the wall, but when Caleb’s warning filtered into my ear, I refrained.I have to endure it all if I want to find Daisy alive.I took in a deep breath and stomped out of the room. ROSYI poured coffee into the cup and slowly dropped the mug, watching him from the corner of my eyes.He dialed Veronica’s number for the eighth time since he got to the dining table. The phone rang without an answer at every end, he growled and threw the phone off, smashing it on the wall.“Is that Veronica’s name I see?” I muttered, making sure to avoid his angry eyes.“It’s none of your business!” He snapped before snatching the cup of coffee from the table.“Would you like some sugar?” I muttered, and the cup, which was already halfway to his lips, stopped.“Have I ever had coffee without sugar?” he muttered.“Forgive me but I’m just getting to know this other side of you.” My response made his brows snap in surprise.I scooped some sugar into the coffee and handed the cup over to him.He took it from me, his eyes still fixed on me.“Have you heard from Veronica lately?” he asked and my heart skipped.“No,” I replied, wearing a straight face.To his surprise, I didn’

CALEB Veronica struggled to get the metal cuffs off her wrists and ankles but couldn’t succeed. “Doing that won’t help you; just tell us where he hid Daisy, and I’ll let you go,” Mario muttered, sighing loudly. It's been some days since I captured Veronica but she has refused to spew out Daisy’s whereabouts. I sighed and got up from the chair that I was sitting on then sauntered to the bed Veronica was tied to. “Give it up already. Evan is under lockup for domestic violence, and he won’t be getting out anytime soon,” I muttered, and she stopped struggling, her eyes bulging out in shock. “What?” she gasped out, shaking her head as fear filled her eyes. “It’s so sad that your lover is gone even before you could get your plans done,” I said and Mario chuckled mockingly. “I don’t love him!” she rasped out and my brows furrowed in surprise. “Of course, you don’t,” the door opened, and Rosy walked in, her cold eyes piercing Veronica contemptuously. “He was just a pawn,” s

MARIO “Do you have an appointment with Mr Hansen?” “No,” I responded sharply. She glanced at me in disgust and straightened up. “Sorry, I can’t let you in.” I ran my angry eyes over her lean body, which could easily be broken into two. With a pack of artificial hair on her head, a large smear of purple-colored lipstick, and excessive rogues, which didn’t seem to improve her looks, she looked typically like a doll. A castaway doll. “You have to let me in,” I muttered and she furrowed her brows. “Which of the ‘I can’t let you in’ do you not understand?” she snapped, narrowing her eyes sassily. I leaned forward to her desk, making sure that my abs were on display before her. “All of them,” I replied in a sultry voice that got her batting her lashes. Her face heated up and perspiration formed on her forehead as the tight, skimpy dress she wore made her condition worse. “I… I… I’m sorry… but…” I sighed when I realized that this wouldn’t make the secretary agree to my

EVAN I lit a cigarette in the car and grinned sinisterly as I watched the building fade away. It all started when Rosy turned down my proposal bluntly. I was overwhelmed and furious with her and myself but I had hopes that she would come back to me. But she didn’t. Instead, she got married to that damn playboy who didn’t want her. I had to put an end to it all, I had to put an end to her happiness and get her back. Killing her daughter was never my intention, but I had no other choice and besides the little snitch of a daughter never liked me one bit. I needed to shut her chattering mouth and shatter Rosy completely. It was Caleb’s fault that she left and it was all to my benefit anyway. Now, my secret has been exposed and I’m going down soon. But I won’t go down alone, I’ll bring everyone down with me. Most especially, Rosy. If I can’t have her, then no one will. I threw the remaining cigarettes out of the window and breathed out smoke. “Where is Rosy

CALEBI raced madly to Rosy’s apartment building with my heart in my hand. When I arrived, my heart shrank in dismay at the crowd gathered outside the building. I swallowed hard and made to walk closer, but a strong grip on my wrist stopped me.I spun around and glared at Mario in anger, parting my lips to lash out at him.“Rosy isn’t in there,” he muttered and my brows furrowed as fear gripped my heart.“Where is she?” I demanded, panting heavily.Mario’s face paled and he looked away guiltily, avoiding my wide eyes.“Where is she?” I repeated in a loud voice.“She’s in the morgue.”I batted my lashes, scared of what he had just muttered.Or did I hear wrong?I prayed that it wouldn’t be what I heard as I told him to repeat his answer. He drew back and sighed out loudly, trying to stop the tears that glistened in his eyes.“Rosy Connor is dead!”My feet suddenly felt wobbly, unable to support my body anymore.I staggered back, my hands shook, my lips quivered, and tea

With a smile on my radiant face, I watched the kids run around the field aimlessly. I shuddered slightly when I felt wet lips touch my bare neck. I didn't need to turn around to find out who the person was, the scent of his cologne gave him away. “You came here to clear your mind during the holiday, not babysit seven-year-old kids.” He muttered and I chuckled lightly. “I just need to make sure that they're okay,” I replied and he scoffed, wrapping his hands around my shoulders. “Come on, nothing bad is going to happen to them, let's go in,” he nudged. I glanced at our three kids and then back at Caleb's face. “Are you sure?” I muttered and he threw his head back, groaning loudly. “I will be blamed if anything happens,” he said confidently. I turned up my lips and finally relented. Caleb smiled and took my hand, pulling my body against his as he brushed his lips against mine. “Don't try to act weak; what you did years ago still amazes me,” he muttered, and I giggled.

ROSY I took the elevator back to the penthouse, my heartbeat increasing with each step I took from the elevator to the door. I pushed the door open and stepped into the living room. The smell of liquor hit my nose immediately when I stepped in. I turned up my lips in disgust and glanced around the room for him. “Evan?” I called out. My stomach churned when I saw him spin a swivel chair around, his hand holding onto a bottle of liquor. “There you are! I thought you wouldn't show up,” he laughed and got up from the chair. “What do you want?” I snapped, sending a murderous glare at him. He raised his brows in surprise and laughed like a lunatic, waving the bottle of liquor at me. He became quiet and tilted his head in my direction. “All my life, there's only one thing that I have ever wanted.” He gulped a reasonable amount of liquor then shook his finger at me. “You.” My heart shrank and my blood boiled. “Sorry to disappoint you,” I muttered and raised my hand

ROSY "Hello, little red rose, miss me?" The phone dropped from my hand and my heart constricted as I staggered back and panted for air. The excitement in the hall vanished and everyone stared at me in shock. Caleb flinched back at my behavior and stared questioningly at me, but when he realized that I wouldn't give him an answer, he bent down and picked up the phone. It isn't true, is it? That isn't who I thought it was, right? Could it be that Katherine was right? No, no, it can't be. My belly knotted when I saw Caleb's face turn grave. His lips trembled as he forced a name out of his mouth. “Evan?” I felt my heart stop beating and my eyes rolled up. Caleb looked at me, his hand tightening around the phone. He's back! He fucking came back! “Evan?” Mom gasped and murmurs filled the hall. Everyone who knew Evan had a grave look of dismay on their faces. The once joyful atmosphere turned sober and tense at the mention of that terrible and monstrous name. My b

CALEB The large doors pulled open and the sharp rays of sunlight pierced into my eyes. I squinted my eyes, adjusted to the stream of light oozing into the filled-up church, and then looked at the glorious sight some distance before me. She looked angelic; she looked perfect, like a heavenly being. The spotless white dress she wore flowed lazily on the white marble floor as she walked slowly toward me. Her veiled face looked ahead, causing a turbulent feeling in the pit of my belly. The flower she held was Sherry's favorite flower, the blue flower. "Miracle", like Sherry always called it. The rays from the sun surrounded her, making her look like an angel gloriously descending to the earth. Each she took towards me made my heart leap. It felt like I would have a heart attack before she got to me. Everyone's head was turned as hundreds of eyes trailed after her to the altar. I batted my lashes in disbelief when I saw her standing before me, a heart-warming smile on her

CALEB I ran my hands through my disheveled hair as I paced around the waiting room, filled with anxiety. “Calm down, Caleb, calm down,” mom complained, sighing loudly. The door burst open and I spun around, glaring at Mario's pale face. “She has been arrested," Mario said and I grunted in dissatisfaction. “I will sneak into that prison and kill her myself if anything happens to Rosy.” My mom jerked her head in my direction, glaring at me. “You won't do anything like that! And nothing is going to happen to Rosy!” She snapped and I narrowed my eyes, slumping dejectedly into the chair beside me. It was all my fault. If I had gotten there a bit earlier, if I had run up to the balcony instead, she wouldn't have fallen off. She wouldn't be in this critical condition. I'm so sorry that I couldn't save you, I'm such a disappointment,” I muttered, sighing in regret. Perhaps, if I had handled Katherine properly, she wouldn't have shown her face here again. My heart skipped

ROSYThe revolver being pointed at me didn't faze me, the face of the woman standing before me was what kept me stunned. “You seem shocked,” she chuckled and advanced towards me. I gasped out and staggered back, holding onto the railings behind me. “Katherine? What the hell are you doing here?” I snapped, glaring confusedly at her. My eyes darted down to her flat belly and my eyes dimmed. Isn't she supposed to be supposed to be pregnant? “What happened to your baby?” She scoffed at my question in disbelief, narrowing her blazing eyes at me. “Well… I killed it,” she muttered and my eyes widened in dismay. “You did what?” I snapped, pursing my lips in anger. She smirked and lowered the gun then tilted her head to the side. “Why? Is it because you're unable to get pregnant again?” Her snide words pricked my heart, making my blood boil. “Does it hurt to watch a child that should have been yours die? Hmmm… I can tell how you feel at the moment. If only God had given me the

ROSY It's been three months since Evan’s escape from prison, three months of peace and curiosity. My curiosity was only satisfied when his body was found floating on water a week ago. Though his face was badly injured and unrecognizable, his body and the mark proved that it was him. Now, I'm full of peace and happiness, not only concerning Evan's death but also my upcoming wedding day. “There you are!” Juliet shrieked as she barged into my office, pulling me out of my reverie. I stretched my lips into a smile and blinked tiredly. “Don't tell me you're already tired from the shopping; the wedding is in a few days, so you better be ready,” she snapped, and I nodded my head. “Yes, ma'am.” She chuckled and dropped a large bag on my desk. “I'm sorry that I couldn't make it to the pre-wedding party, my schedule is so tight that I can hardly eat,” she muttered, breathing out loudly. “Well… that's the price you have to pay for being one of the most famous models in the country,” I

MARIO "Welcome sir!" the pygmy secretary grinned widely as she led me to my father's office. "Mr Morris has been waiting for you," she muttered, cunningly trying to start up a conversation. "The party lasted longer than I expected," I threw a flat reply. But the girl refused to give up, she tugged on my arm and forced me to look down at her. "Is it true that Miss Rosy and Caleb Thompson are engaged? I saw it on a social page." "Hmmm, it's true," I responded and quickened my pace. I got to the closed door, sucked in a deep breath before pushing it open. My dad raised his head and forced a smile into his face when he saw me enter the room. "I am sorry that I kept you waiting," I muttered and walked to the couch then slumped into it, waiting for him to tell me the reason for his sudden invitation. "I heard that they are engaged," he muttered, and I nodded, narrowing my eyes in suspicion. Does whatever he has to say have anything to do with Caleb and Rosy? "I just couldn't hol

CALEB When I saw her face, I couldn’t help but admire what a beauty she was. Her blue velvet gown flowed behind her as she stepped down from the spiral staircase accompanied by Juliet. From her lustrous curly hair cascading to her spotless shoulders to her angelic face, down to her flawless thigh which the split on the gown revealed. The dress she wore hugged closely to her body, proudly showing off her curves. I chuckled lightly and smiled at her which she returned immediately. I couldn’t wait to hold her in his arms once more, and this time, I had planned never to let her slip out my fingers again. “Happy birthday!!” We all cheered, raising our glasses in the air. She laughed and raised her glass too, her eyes pinned on me and mine on her.It was like we were sending a silent message across to each other. Everyone was present, including her rebellious family members. I was surprised that they didn’t try to kick her out when they found out about the stolen funds. That was a pe
