Part 2: Chapter 28

Sylvia's P. O. V

I woke up with a start cleaning the next day, checking my clock for the time, I sprang out of bed and rushed towards the bathroom, hurrying through my morning routine. Today I'll be getting update on my mom and I can't wait.

Heading downstairs, I made myself a quick breakfast and walked out of the house, boarding a cab to the hospital. I arrived there soon after and walked straight to my mom's ward where I met a doctor checking on her. Staying outside, I watched them through the window. Eventually the doctor was through with her and he came out, spotting me.

" Good morning doc..." I greeted, feeling nervous.

" Good morning Miss Torres. I see you're here early. " He said and I nodded, still glancing at my mom.

" How is she? " I asked quietly and watched as he took in a deep breath.

" Well...." He began and I held my breath. One more bad news and I'll... " She's on the mend." He finished and I breathed out, feeling absolutely relieved.
