Xavier headed out in the morning without waiting to see Clara, he was glad she signed the papers already. He headed to the hotel where Kathrine was staying.
He arrived there in minutes. Immediately he stepped in, she rushed to him and threw her arms around him.
Xavier chuckled as he wrapped his arms around her and spun her around. He knew he was doing the right thing, Kathrine loves him as much as he loves her.
While they were still together, they were the talk of the city. Everyone was always rooting for them.
It was a shock to everyone seeing his marriage with Clara, the city talked about it for a very long time before it eventually died down when they found something else to talk about.
He never loved Clara, it's really a good thing he is letting her go.
He couldn't deny the fact that he felt a little pity for Clara, she is a good woman and the years of being married to her were peaceful.
He knows how much she loves him and always tries to be on his good side during the years of their marriage. He tried to love her back too but it was really hard for him because he was still in love with Kathrine and now she is back in his life.
She had to leave the city when he got married to Clara, she told him she couldn't stand him being married to someone else. That was the reason they broke up.
He was shocked when he saw her a month back, she told him she was visiting her parents for a while.
Everything happened so fast, they connected again and the next thing, she got pregnant. He informed his parents when she got pregnant, it was their idea and Kathrine’s idea to divorce Clara. They agreed she was useless after all.
Kathrine wanted him to get rid of Clara, she told him she won't be fully back into his life if he didn't divorce her. He didn't want that to happen so he listened and let Clara go.
“So, have you given her the divorce papers? Did she sign them?” She asked as she wrapped her legs around his waist as he carried her gently.
“Yes, I have given her.” He replied as he sat on the bed and she straddled him.
“And? Did she sign them?” She raised her brows.
“Hmm.” Xavier replied and nodded.
She smiled happily and giggled.
“That is amazing. So when is she moving out?”
“I told her to leave today. I gave her until later in the day.” Xavier replied and Kathrine's smile grew wider. She was so happy and he was glad she was. He hurt her in the past and he was ready to make things right.
It wasn't Kathrine’s idea for Clara to move out, it was Xavier’s. He wanted her around him always, if he wanted to make things right, he had to start from there.
“And I will be moving in today?”
“Of course. Enough of that, I missed you.” Xavier said. She was about to speak but he shut her up with a kiss.
Kathrine giggled as she reciprocated.
He spun her around and pinned her to the bed, he kissed her down to her neck.
He took off his shirt as he kissed her.
He took off Kathrine’s shirt too, he ran his hands on her body and she let out a moan. When it was about to get intense, Xavier’s phone rang snapping them out of their romance.
He groaned as Kathrine pulled away from him.
“I will just ignore it.” He said as he kissed her again.
The phone rang again.
“I think you should answer it.” Kathrine said, breathing heavily as she pushed him away slightly.
“Fuck.” He moaned as he picked up his phone and furrowed his brows seeing it was their butler.
Why the hell was he calling?
“What is it?” He asked immediately he picked up the call.
“Sir, it’s your wife. She passed out.” He said. He could hear the hint of fear in his voice.
Xavier found it odd, she was supposed to be getting ready to leave the house, was she up to something?
“Tell the chauffeur to take her to the hospital. I am busy.” He said and ended the call immediately.
“Who was that?” Kathrine asked as she wrapped her arms around him.
“No one.” Xavier replied. He doesn't care about anything that has to do with Clara anymore, she is not his wife anymore.
Just as they were about to continue with their romance, Xavier’s phone rang again.
“You’ve got to be kidding me.” Kathrine groaned as Xavier looked at the caller. It was his mother calling. Why was his mother calling?
“Mum, I am kind of busy right now.” He said as he picked up the call.
“You need to be at the hospital now.” She said.
“What? Why? What's wrong?” He asked. He was more confused than worried.
“Why do I have to be at the hospital?”
“Well, apparently your ex-wife seems to be putting on a drama. Dr. Griffo said it's really serious and you have to be there. I am on my way there too.” She said and ended the call.
Xavier was confused, Clara was fine before he left the house. Although he didn't see her in the morning, he knew if anything was wrong with her, the butler would have informed him.
“Is something wrong?” Kathrine asked.
“Not really. I just got a call that Clara is in the hospital and I need to be there. I don't know why though.”
“Oh, I will come with you then.” She replied and started to get dressed.
“What?” Xavier muttered.
“I am coming with you.”
“I don't think that is a good idea.”
“Why?” She asked, furrowing her brows.
“I just think it will be a little weird. You know? She is my ex-wife and… “
“I am coming with you Xavier and there is nothing you can do to stop me.”
Clara slowly opened her eyes, she looked around the room and noticed it looked unfamiliar. ‘Where am I?’ She thought as she kept looking around. She tried to recall what happened and she did. She remembered passing out. Just as she was about to try to sit up, the door opened revealing the doctor. It was their family doctor. “Mrs. Blackwell. You are awake.” Dr. Griffo said. “How did I get here?” She asked as she slowly sat up.“Your butler brought you in, ma’am.” He replied and she nodded. He kept smiling at her which made Clara wonder what was going on.“It's good to see you again Mrs. Blackwell.” He said, Clara faked a smile. If only he knew she wasn't bearing that last name again. Also, she found it odd. Dr. Griffo was smiling more than usual.“What?” Clara couldn't help but ask.“Congratulations, Mrs. Blackwell. You are pregnant.” He announced. Clara felt everything around her pause as his words echoed in her head. She thought she heard wrong so she let out a chuckle and shook
Without waiting for Clara to respond, Xavier walked out of the ward. Clara buried her face in her hands as she started to cry loudly. Everything kept getting worse the moment she thought it would get better. What is she supposed to do? Where is she supposed to go? She was so sure her parents wouldn't accept her back. She was also sure they would have heard the news. Dr. Griffo walked back into the room, Clara hurriedly wiped her tears as she looked up at him.He gave her a look but Clara forced a smile.“I am really sorry about this ma’am. If there is anything I can do to help, I will.” He said and Clara nodded. He is their family doctor, he isn't a stranger so he knows a lot. “Can you get me a ride?” She asked and sniffed.“Of course, ma’am.” ~Clara sat in the car and watched the chauffeur drive and at the same time, she was fighting her tears. She was in the car the doctor arranged for her and as dumb as it sounds, she was heading to Xavier’s mansion. For the last time, she
Clara walked around the street aimlessly, she had no idea of what to do. She was scared and hopeless. She suddenly felt a slight pain in her stomach and she hissed, she recalled she hadn't eaten all day. She fought the tears that welled up in her eyes at the thought of her baby being hurt due to starvation. She looked around the street and noticed a restaurant, she slowly walked towards it. She got in and looked around, it was empty. Just a middle-aged lady was behind the counter. Clara walked to the counter and the woman looked up at her. She recalled she had no money on her and thought of how to plead with the woman. She wasn't used to doing this, she used to be the wife of a billionaire, and she gets whatever she needs without asking.“Are you going to keep staring like you have seen a ghost or you are going to place your order?” The woman asked, snapping her out of her thoughts.“Oh, yeah. Sorry.” Clara muttered and exhaled heavily.“Ma’am, I... ““I don't give free food. If yo
Clara arrived at the Blackwell's mansion and made her way out of the taxi. She knew the wedding was happening in their ballroom. That was where the Blackwells held all their events. The estate was filled with different luxurious cars. She arrived at the mansion and kept her head low to avoid being recognized. As she passed, the guests kept staring at her, wondering who she was and why she was dressed that way. She arrived at the entrance to the ballroom and tried to sneak in but the security caught her and stopped her. Before she could speak, the security beat her to it.“The waiters and the rest of the maids are at the back. You can't go in through here.” He said pointing in a direction. “Oh, okay.” Clara responded and rushed in the direction. She was glad no one recognized her. She got to the back and went through a door, she found the waiters and the maids, it was a kitchen. She had never been to that part of the house before because she had no reason to. “Hey, you. Why are y
YEARS LATER “Last to get to the car gives up mum’s next gift!” Kaylen yelled and before he could blink, his sister rushed down the stairs.“Kaylee.” He yelled after her and rushed down the stairs too. The maids paved the way for them as they both ran down the stairs. Kaylee made it down the long stairs first and jumped over a couch in the living room. Kaylen also did and was about to run past her but he almost tripped which made a guard lift him. His sister laughed and rushed out of the house and got to the car first.“I won, I won!” She yelled and Kaylen groaned angrily as he struggled with the guard.“Why did you stop me?” He screamed at the guard as he dropped him carefully.“You almost fell, sir. I had to, you could have gotten hurt.” The guard apologized and bowed his head.“It was none of your business!” He yelled and Kaylee laughed at him as she walked back into the living room.“He was only doing his job.” They heard their mother say and they both turned to see her walking i
Clara had a smile on her face as she walked down the stairs. She heard her kids talking, more like an argument. It was coming from the dining room. She walked into the room and they both paused when they saw her.“Are you both going to tell me what this argument is about?” She asked as she took a seat in between them.“You are going out?” Kaylen asked with a frown as he noticed her outfit. “Yes.” Clara replied as she dished her meal.“Why?” He asked.“Because I have a business meeting.” “Are you going to keep us indoors here too? I think we deserve to go out.” Kaylee said.“Yes, Clara.” Kaylen said sternly and she shot him a glare. Her children are nothing alike, Kaylee is calm, kind, smart, and loving while Kaylen is the opposite. He is smart too, he is just playful and stubborn.“You guys will go out, a lot. Just anticipate, I have so much in store for both of you.” She said with a smile and Kaylee giggled while Kaylen rolled his eyes.“We will believe it when it happens.” He said
Xavier paced in his office as different thoughts popped up in his head. He couldn't stop thinking about Clara, he got curious too.“Are you sure it was her?” He heard a voice ask, interrupting his thoughts. He paused and turned to his best friend who was seated at his table.“Come on, Carl. Will I make this up?” He asked and rolled his eyes.“I don't know. It's been five years dude.”“I know.” “And you are saying she showed up out of the blue as a billionaire?” Carl scoffed.“Yes.” Xavier replied.“Oh, please.” He chuckled and fell back on the chair.“This isn't funny.” Xavier glared at him.“Why are you so bothered about it though? If she is back, what does it have to do with you?” Carl asked and Xavier stared at him in disbelief. Is his best friend really dumb?“It has everything to do with me.” Xavier raised his voice. “Because she wants to invest in your company?” He asked and Xavier ran his hand through his hair. He couldn't think of an answer to that question. He thought abou
“Oh my God.” Carl muttered.“Xavier.” He called and turned to see him frozen. “Clara is back?” Kathrine asked but didn't get a response from anyone.“Mummy?” Kaylee called, the stares were getting too much.“It's okay. Just give it a few more minutes.” She said as she pulled her children to a table. She helped them sit and she sat next to them. Soon, the stares died down but everyone kept whispering as they passed. Her children also heard some of the murmurs and the were curious but decided not to talk about it. Soon, the party started and most couples walked to the dance floor. Clara could feel the Blackwell's eyes on her, the whole family was staring at her. “Mum, can I go and dance over there?” Kaylen asked, pointing in a direction. Clara looked in that direction and noticed it was kids their age. She was about to decline but thought about it, they needed a social life. “Take your sister with you.” Clara replied and they both looked at Kaylee who seemed nervous.“Come on, I w
DAYS LATERIt's been days since Clara left where Xavier kept her. She returned home to her kids, but no one knew what happened, she didn't tell Dexter about it. Her kids moved back in with her, she was happy around them and they were happy. Xavier travelled back to California with Lucy and Carl but they would be back the next day. They would be a party in two days and everyone was invited. Malia has to show up with Xavier of course, only if she has an explanation for her husband’s absence.Since it was just a normal party, everyone wasn't so hyped about it. Clara didn't waste her time on having a perfect dress either. The kids returned to school, they stopped being bullied. Everyone felt bad they didn't pay attention to the news about them missing, Taylor felt worse. The twins weren't talking to him, he tried to apologize to them but they ignored him just like he ignored them. Everything seemed to be back to normal, everything was peaceful again.~It was finally the day of the
A DAY LATERXavier walked into the room with a tray filled with meals. He closed the door and placed the meal on the table. He turned to the bed and stared at Clara, she was staring at him. She had a cold expression as she looked at him.She was cuffed to the bed which made moving not easy for her.“Are you going to eat now?” Xavier asked. She didn't respond, she just kept staring. He carried the tray from the table and moved closer to the bed, he dropped it next to her. In the process, his hand touched her and she whimpered. She recalled what happened a day ago, she had flashbacks and she shut her eyes in fear. She felt the hairs on her body erect as she felt shivers.Xavier furrowed his brows as he stared at her, he wondered what was wrong with her.“Please, don't touch me.” She whispered as her voice broke. Xavier noticed his hand was touching her knee, he slowly pulled away from her. She breathed heavily and slowly opened her eyes. She had tears in them. Xavier understood wha

If you are sensitive to this, please, skip this chapter! The next few days were normal, there was no drama in the city. The Blackwells family returned to California except for Xavier, Lucy, and Carl. The news about the wedding had died down since it had been done. Clara knew Xavier was on to her so she decided her kids would be safer with Dexter. She moved them to Dexter’s house but visits them every day. The kids were okay with this, they loved Dexter anyway. They stopped going to school, Clara couldn't risk it. She doesn't want them to go missing again, if they do, she might lose it. Clara returned to work the next day after her kids were found, she made herself the talk of the city again. She topped the business chats in days which gave everyone something to talk about. She was back and better! Malia was quiet which was suspicious but Clara decided to not worry about i
Clara drove into Dexter’s house, she pulled over, and rushed out of the car. She rushed into the house and screamed happily as she saw her kids. They rushed to her, she bent to their level and hugged them tightly.“I missed you both so much.” She sighed.“We missed you too.” They chorused. Dexter stood and watched them with a smile. She held them for a very long time before letting go of them. She ran her eyes and hands on their body to see if they were hurt.“They are fine, Kaylee added a little weight too. They are really fine.” Dexter said, walking towards them.“Really?” Clara furrowed her brows and stared at Kaylee, she smiled and spun around.“So, this is the part where we tell you what happened?” Kaylen asked and she and Dexter nodded in response.“Well, the night we were taken, we thought they hurt you too 'cause we saw the guards on the floor when we were dragged out of the house. We thought it was a kidnap, well it was.”“Xavier’s guards took us and took us to the penthouse
It was finally the day the whole city anticipated. The day Malia Parish will be getting married to Xavier Blackwell. It was the talk of the city, most of the people had forgotten about the disappearance of Clara’s twins. They focused on the wedding. Clara was hurt by this, the cops gave up the search but the organization didn't. They knew Xavier took them so they focused their search on that. Clara was mad at the whole city, she was forgotten and no one cared about her. The arrival of the Blackwells was announced a day before the wedding. A lot of people were invited to the wedding, important rich families in and out of the city. It was the day Clara would get her kids back and it was a day of happiness for the Blackwells and the Parishs too. In short, that day was the day it would all change, for good or for the worse. Clara exhaled heavily as she stared at herself in the mirror, she was dressed in leather pants and a jacket. Her hair was tied into a ponytail with a few strand
It's been days since the twins went missing, the whole city knew about it. Xavier was nowhere to be found too.Clara searched everywhere she could, she knew Xavier had taken them but she had no idea where he took them to.Tokyo was helping her with the search, the whole organization was helping her. Tokyo assured her that they would be found, and she informed Clara that Xavier hadn't left the country yet or the city. He was still around, he was hiding somewhere with her kids. If he tries to leave the city or the country, they will know about it. Clara was trying her best not to lose it, Dexter was supportive too. Malia released the news about her wedding with Xavier, it would be done in a few days. It was sooner than everyone expected but it was to Clara’s advantage. Xavier will definitely show up on the wedding day, what is a wedding without the groom? She would get him and get her kids back on that day. The news about the twins missing and Malia’s wedding coming up was what eve
“No, no, no.” Clara muttered as she got off the bed, she rushed into her closet and got dressed in seconds. She grabbed her keys and phone and rushed out of the room. On her way, she tried calling Xavier back but the call wasn't connecting. She tried calling Dexter too but he wasn't picking up. She got out of the house, got into her car, and drove out of the mansion. She kept calling Dexter as tears welled up in her eyes, she was terrified. She had no idea where to go, so she decided to head to his house. Tears kept streaming down her eyes, she hoped he was okay. She arrived at his house in minutes and rushed out of the car. He doesn't have guards around or maids, he prefers to stay alone.“Dexter.” Clara yelled as she hit the front door, she forced the door open and rushed in. She froze when she saw him walking down the stairs.“What? What's wrong?” He asked. She rushed to him and hugged him tightly, she cried as she hugged him. Dexter was confused but he hugged her back.“Di
Clara sat in her office, she went through her computer, replying to all emails necessary and doing other work. Her kids were running around the room, sometimes they ran out of her office and ran back in. She wasn't bothered, as long as they were happy and okay. Kaylee ran to Clara and stood next to her. Clara ignored her and paid attention to her work. Kaylee knew she was intentionally ignoring her. She poked Clara’s shoulder but she was still ignored. Kaylee smiled and poked her repeatedly.“Mummy.” She called and poked her. “Mummy.” “Mummy.” Clara exhaled heavily and turned to her.“Yes, Kaylee?”“I am hungry.” She whined and Clara looked at Dexter, he seemed busy with the cellphone with him.“What do you want?” She asked and Kaylee shrugged in response.“I don't know.” Clara was about to speak when the door to her office opened and Tokyo walked in. Clara was surprised to see her, the same as the kids.“Tokyo.” Kaylen called happily, he stood up and was about to rush to he
“Just when I thought I would have a great day.” She sighed. She dropped her bag on her couch, folded her arms, and turned to him. He was seated on her chair with his legs on her table.“What do you want?” She asked. He ran his eyes on her before speaking.“My kids. I want my kids back.” He replied, Clara chuckled. She found his response funny.“I don't get it, did you ever have them?” She asked.“I want them.” He said sternly. His face held no expression, he sounded so cold too.“Do they want you?” Clara asked.“They will.” He replied, she chuckled recalling how they acted this morning when she tried bringing him up.“Last time I checked which was about an hour ago, you don't exist to them anymore.” She answered with a smile. Xavier didn't give a response immediately, he slowly put his legs down from her table and stood up.He put his hands in his pants pocket and looked around the office as he walked towards her.“I am getting married to Malia.” He said without looking at her, he wa
