NATALIA'S POV

I woke up the next day alone and cold in my hospital bed.Still my Dad was a no show.I was losing my patience.They cannot treat me as invalid.I'll find out today what is going on?

I slowly got up from my bed since the IV was not connected to me anymore.I was free to move.The moment I stood on my feet,my head starts dizzying.Before I could react, firm hands slipped around my waist and I was pulled against a hard wall.

"What do you think you are doing young lady?"My mother scolded.

Etienne was holding me firmly but he too was frowning on me disapprovingly.

"Why did you get up without help Nat?You want something?You could have just pressed the bell."

To cut the chase,I retorted

"I want to see my Dad.You people are hiding something from me.My dad cannot stay away from me this long.So tell me where is he?"I demanded.

His shoulders sagged,and he looked towards my mother.

My mother nodded.What the hell is going on?

"You remember your father was also there during your accident?"

"Yes..But.."

He cut me off midsentence and continued.

"He pushed you from the approaching car and took the hit himself.He has multiple fracture and severe brain damage.Currently he is in medically induced coma.He underwent several surgery.But doctor said he'll be fine Nat."

"NOOO...."

I hugged him and cried out loudly.I was sobbing so hard my head started throbbing.

I palmed my pounding headache.

"You need to take it easy angel."

"My dad.It's because of me he is in this condition."

"Are you done with your pity party?

Now listen to me carefully.

Your dad is a fighter Talia.He is going to make it hon.We all have to be strong."

My mother's voice cracked.What am I doing?I have to be strong for my family.I hugged my mother.She needs me,Us.I'm glad I have Etienne by my side.

I controlled myself and assured that I'm fine.But despite the ordeal.She kept on soothing me.

"But I want to see Dad.Just once."I pleaded.

"We were not even suppose to tell you Nat.But your stubborn self couldn't take the hint."His voice deadpanned.

"You need rest.You are shaking."

I rolled my eyes.

It was then I noticed Etienne has brought his entire office to my room alongwith a spare bed.He helped me to my bed and started working on his computer.I spoke some more with my mother.I wanted to see Antonio.I missed him but he was in school.He cannot miss his school anymore because of his late admission.

"Mom you should go home and rest.I'll be fine.Trust me."

"Yes Bethany I'm there with Natalia."Etienne interjected.

"No,I want both of you out of this room.You people look awful."

"Gee thanks Nat."His eyes held mischief.

I glared at him.

"I mean you people need rest.Atleast go and rest for some time then you can come back.I need my cuddle buddy."I pointed towards Etienne making him chuckle in response.

"Fine we'll see.Please don't pull anymore stunt Nat.You are still weak."

"Okay Dad."I joked.He sounded just like my dad.

Inspite of my protest both of them stayed till dinner.

"Bethany wait for me at the waiting room.I have some work with the doctor."

My mother had a knowing smile on her face.Etienne lingered a little longer than necessary.

"What are you up to mister?"

He looked at the door,quickly locked it and almost jumped on me.

He kissed me passionately.Who could resist such wonderful love token?

"I wanted to do that for a very long time."He whispered huskily.

"Oh?So while my mother was talking to me,these wild ideas was going through that head of yours? 

Incredible Mr.Martin."I teased.

"It's seems as if I cannot control when I'm near you my darling."

"Don't worry the feeling is mutual."

"Oh yeah?"

"Yep.."I replied with the 'p' sound being prominent.

He kissed me again.

"Surely never gonna be tired of this."

He sweeped his thumb on my now swollen lips.

A faint pink coloured my cheeks and neck.

"I adore you."

I smiled shyly.

"Do you want anything from home?"

"Umm..no."

"Don't look at me like that my darling one or the consequences will be bad."

I bit my lip.

He maintained some distance.

"I should really leave".He muttered.

After a quick goodbye kiss he left.

He promised he would come after an hour or so.Sometime around midnight I fell asleep only to be woken up by some strange voice.

My room was dark,but against the door of my room I saw a black figure talking over the phone.

"Yes this is 2420 room boss.She's asleep."Who is this person?Is he speaking of me?Gosh I felt like I'm in a movie.

Something was said from the other side to which the man in black nodded.

"I'm going to kill her fast and move out of the window.Don't worry there won't be any evidence.I know my job."

His voice was gravely serious.

My heart slammed against my ribs violently.Someone was trying to kill me.But why?I faked sleeping and offered my prayers to God.Someone please help me.I was shivering.

Etienne where are you?Please help me.Help me God.

I saw him take out a deadly pistol.My breath hitched.

"I know you are awake."He said in his deadly calm voice.

I slowly opened my eyes.No point in faking it.I saw him pointing the gun towards me.I could think of only one thing so I screamed as loudly and threw my sheets over his head.

He pulled the trigger and the defeating sound hit my ears,but I was glad he missed.

"Shit the silencer."I heard him curse.I quickly ran towards the door and screamed again.He fired the second bullet.I sprinted out of the room in sheer madness.

"Help,please somebody help me.

Someone is trying to kill me."I yelled again.

My adrenaline starting to fade.My vision started blurring.My legs felt jelly like.The last thing I saw was Etienne running towards me and then everything blacked out...
