Shantel's POV.

I plastered a smile on my face while walking out of the Alpha's bedroom.

My heart told me something fishy was happening, though I couldn't confirm it yet.

I saw her go in and out of the room, and the healer blatantly refused me coming in.

And the most suspicious thing was Leila, she was suddenly missing in the slave quarters and I had a feeling she would be there.

A feeling of fear and uncertainty washed over me, making my heart thump furiously.

I didn't want her thwarting my plans, the alpha will always remain mine, I don't care what means I use, but I would definitely be the Luna of this pack one day.

And I wouldn't let a mere slave spoil what I've already planned for years.

My eyes scanned the area, looking for any sign of Leila, I needed to be sure she wasn't near the Alpha.

All I could hear was that she helped the healer, but it felt suspicious to me. I saw the healer, yet I didn't see the alpha, that didn't sit right to me.
