Anne's P.O.V
After the whole excitement was over from the engagement news, I took a good look at the two of them standing there being congratulated by everyone. Natasha is so happy and, if I must say so, she is absolutely glowing. She and Darren had also had those secret looks they had been giving each other today that they hadn't done before. He was also a little more protective of her and he wanted to always be near her or holding on to her. Looking more closely, it also looked to me that Natacha looked a little bigger than I last saw her. It could be that she had been letting go and eating a little more or my hunch that I have is correct.
Maybe it is my imagination, but I think she is pregnant. If she is, I will be overjoyed at becoming a grandmother again. She could leave the little one with me when she has classes. I know her father will be very mad at her and might not be in the best position to help out for the first
Three months laterNatasha's P.O.VIt had been a gruelling three months in between the hiding of the pregnancy from my dad, going to classes, the horrible morning sickness that had decided that it would disrupt my whole life and the awful back pain I had from the beginning. We decided that dad had gotten used to me being engaged to Darren enough and that we would be telling him about the baby as soon as we would be home again this weekend from school. Darren's mum and dad are just the best. They have been sending gifts and care packages the whole time, anything that would help me. His mum and his sister said they both had it just as bad with the nausea and the weird cravings, but they didn't have the back pain and it's not like I could ask dad about what mum's pregnancy was like, as he doesn't like to talk about her ever since she left me with him for that other man. At least that is what grandma told
The whole dining room was silent for the next few minutes. You could hear a pin drop and that would sound like a bomb dropping. After those few minutes, everything erupted into chaos. All the family on Darren's side was so happy and wanted to come and hug us and congratulate us. I could see that dad was just sitting down and staring and not really registering what was going on around him. I loosened Darren's arm around me and made my way to his side to see that he was okay and maybe talk to him if he had some questions.I arrived and put my hands on his shoulders to try and get him to look at me and register me and not just look and stare into space in front of him."Dad, hey dad. Look at me."He finally looked at me and he looked really sad."Why would you do this to yourself? Why?"He stood up while asking me why."I didn't mean for this to happen, it just happened. Dad, please look at me."He started moving whi
I woke up to knocking on the front door. After removing Darren's death trap arm from around my waist as carefully as possible to not wake him up, I went and opened the door to find his mum standing there."I didn't know if you would be up to cooking breakfast or seeing people, so I dished up some of our breakfast for you guys to eat here."I took the plate and invited her in so we wouldn't need to stand there talking at the door."Thank you. We wanted to discuss some wedding details also yesterday, but with everything that happened we don't know if it would be best to postpone the wedding that we had wanted to hold before the baby is born or just keep going forward as planned. I'm just so confused and hurt at the moment, but I don't want to get married without my dad being present at the ceremony and walking me down the isle and that won't happen until he accepts me and the baby."She smiled my way and gave my hand a squeeze."What ha
The day of the wedding four months laterNatasha's P.O.V I don't think I can handle anymore problems happening today with the wedding that is happening in only two hours. I am close to tears and mum Annie and Lexi are trying their best to keep me calm enough and not crying, but it's not really working at the moment. I decided that I would call Darren and have him meet me so I can try and calm my nerves a little bit as well. It's not like he will be seeing me in my dress, as that is one of the problems. They brought the wrong dress and are now looking to find mine before the wedding."Darren, I need you. I don't care about your mum and anyone else getting mad. I just need you to hug me until everything gets better and all the problems go away. Please.""Wipe your tears. I'm on my way. Meet me in the garden, then we will go for a walk and I will hug you till everything is better. I love you.""I
Three months laterDarren's P.O.VNat was sitting and studying for some important test or practical session that was scheduled for next week. Said she wanted to be fully prepared for it just in case our little distracter was going to make her appearance, that could literally be any day now, as Nat was already nine months. We were still referring to the baby as our little distracter because Nat didn't want to know the gender and I was also not allowed to know as I wouldn't be able to keep it a secret. We really have had our fair share of scares with some Braxton hicks contractions and slight spotting. Permanently, now had the hospital bags in the car and made sure that they were there whenever we went anywhere. We have turned my room and some of the spare space in the flat into a baby room and moved the cot and such into our room that we are now sharing. Nat and I had decided together that we wou
Anne's P.O.VWhen the phone rang, I was dressed before Liam was even done with the call. I had been expecting this call to come ever since she had hit eight months pregnant. I have bags packed for both me and Liam if we need to stay over and everything. I want to get to Natasha as soon as possible and help her with her breathing exercises and so on as she had asked me to do. I pulled out the bags from the closet and put them at the door while Liam was still getting dressed. He could get them on his way down."Liam get the two bags when coming down. I am going to go and make some coffee for the road and maybe, if I have time, pack some snacks."I hurried down the stairs and switched on the coffee machine on my way to the cupboard to get something to nibble on. I grabbed some chocolate bars and bags of chips just to keep our sugar and energy levels high. In a thermal flask I put the made coffee and closed the lid, packe
Darren's P.O.VI was luckily allowed to stay the whole time with Nat and little Jo-Anne. I was going to say night, but then remembered that it had been three am when Nat's water broke and we haven't had any sleep since arriving at the hospital until the nurse had chased everyone out and Nat went to lie down for a little while. I decided that I wanted to hold Jo-Anne for a little while longer. She was just so perfect, cuddling my finger the way she was while sleeping. She definitely had her mum's cute nose and I don't know about her eyes as she hadn't opened them when I was looking. Don't forget the pair of lungs she has. I was so shocked to hear that huge sound came from such a small little body. She was now silently sleeping in my arms while her mother also got some sleep in before she needed to feed again. Hoping the parents won't come and visit in the first early visiting hours, so that we can spend some time together alo
Three years laterAnne's P.O.VMy baby boy is graduating from college today as a lawyer and we already have a job set up for him at Ethan's firm where and through whom he can do his articles and get further training and experience before he, as he has planned, starts his own law firm. Ethan is the best I know and I trust him with the business and we still make use of his firm for the whole family matters as well as the business legal matters we have. He is and will stay a trusted friend and the only law firm we use if they continue their ways as he has set them out and I know Darren looks up to him just as much as me and Liam do along with dad.We sat down in the designated seating area for the parents and waited to hear his name called to watch him walk the stage and get his degree. What we weren't expecting was that he would be graduating with honours and that he would be in the top five of hi
