“Enough about me! We have ingredients to cook since none of us had the mind to get takeaways and this place is too far out for delivery.” Mikael said this caused Gabriel to rub his hands together ready to get his chef on.

“Pizza or pasta?” He asked them then rolled his eyes as he could practically see Scarlett and Jackson salivating at the thought of both meals.

“Can we have chocolate croissants for dessert?” Sasha asked. Gabriel just nodded and got busy.

“Have you decided what you will do with the information I gave you yesterday?” Lydia asked getting right into it. Scarlett blinked multiple times not knowing what to say or do about their friend's bluntness while Mikael walked off to get whatever tech they might need for research.

“I suppose I would have to confront the bastard won't I?” Sasha said.”Damn straight!” Lydia encouraged in the most peculiar way.

“Jackson and I did, however, come to the conclusion that it wasn’t because he didn’t love her that he killed her. “ Eve

Scarlett’s eyes widened as she recalled their encounter with the council of species. She recalled how each and every one of them was scrutinized by the members of that council. Most of all she remembered how hard Lydia’s family member swallowed when she saw Sasha. “Lydia’s sister, or was it your aunt? The lady from the species council?!” Scarlett said as the words came tumbling out of her mouth not making sense to her own ears. “Yes, she is old and strong enough to pull something like that off,” Lydia said with disdain. “I too remember how pale she went for a second, I thought it was because she saw me,” Lydia said. “But Sasha was standing right behind you,” Jackson said. “Fucking bitch!” Lydia exclaimed as she slammed her closed fists on the countertop. “That settles it. I am going to kill the whore.” Lydia said furiously that a member of her family could interfere with another person’s life in such a colossal way. Sasha shot up from her seat hugging her friend with all her mi

“Right, you and Gabriel have been together for so long it didn’t even occur to me you may have known me since the day I was born,” Lydia said to Mikael threw narrowed eyes. He knew in that very moment he would be interrogated when it was just the two of them. Gabriel and Scarlett observed the two very closely, there was a different conversation going to be held in her bed tonight she thought with a knowing smile on her face as Gabriel looked like a father who just found out his two children were engaging in some insistent behavior. She just shook her head at his unwarranted thought pattern as Lydia and Mikael weren’t really related and Gabriel didn’t seem to have a problem when he thought they were just dating. Sasha was standing at the floor-to-ceiling window in the kitchen with her back turned to everyone deep in thought about how she would approach her biological father about everything starting with her mother and ending with her having siblings, she needed to hear from his own

“It seems very fishy that the Luna of the Bloodmoon pack is never talked about,” Scarlett said red in the face at her friend's compliments of Gabriel’s cooking skills. Ofcause she knew how blessed she was to have a mate who, if he were human, would have received a Michelin award for best chef of the century. “I agree, the bitch has my mother killed off to position herself as Luna then just goes missing?” Sasha joined in the conversation, she could feel her wolf itching for revenge. For all the wrong that was done to them, for growing up without a mother, for being kept away from their father, their pack, and most of all their mate! Lydia was typing away at her laptop very focused on finding answers to the mountain of questions that was building, She was mid-typing when Mikael grabbed the laptop by the screen and replaced it with a plate of Pizza “Eat please.” He said to her, he knew she wouldn’t make a scene in front of their friend, “Yeah honey, the information won’t disappear off

“Any new dreams Scar?” Lydia asked genuinely interested in her answer seeing as it was Scarlett’s dreams that led them all where they are today. “I have been having odd dreams lately about the other Universe, things seem different. It’s as if the Scarlett I met a few days ago is different from the one I have been dreaming about these last couple of days.” She said deep in thought like she was still trying to figure out what was what. “That is definitely strange,” Jackson commented enjoying every bite of the pasta Gabriel had made. “Alright, let’s not take Sasha’s spotlight people, one problem at a time,” Gabriel said, his tone of voice was humorous but they all knew he was serious by his body language. “I am happy for the distraction,” Sasha said with a small smile on her face, she meant what she said, she didn’t enjoy the fact that their new mission was now about her, it made her uncomfortable and she wondered several times in the past twenty-four hours how Scarlett handled such

After 8 hours of sleep, Scarlett woke up feeling disorientated as she did not recognize her surroundings, her dreams lately had been very scary and she did not know what to make of it, when she looked to her side she saw Gabriel lying next to her staring at the ceiling and it all came back to her, right she was at Mikael’s castle! “This house really feels more like a Castle than a mansion.” She said to Gabriel as she leaned over to kiss him good morning, he leaned back over to kiss her square on the lips as he pulled her closer by putting his hand behind her head. “It’s a pity we are not in our own home.” Scarlett said suggestively to Gabriel. “That is not something we would want to listen to.” Jackson hollered from the wall way clearly passing their bedroom for the night. “It’s rude to eavesdrop on Jax,” Scarlett shouted back as she was now blushing brightly at the thought of everyone being able to hear them mating. Everybody was already downstairs by the time Lydia and Mikael

“We are not at the halfway mark, any potty stops required?” Mikael asked as he looked into the rearview mirror. “Yes please, I need the wee lassies room,” Scarlett said in her thick Scottish accent. “It’s been a while since I heard that accent, almost slipped my mind you’re not from around these parts.” Jackson joked. “Hold on, before we get out I have a question,” Scarlett said with a frown on her face. Everyone turned to her “When we met you told me your name is Markus, and I just wondered why we have been calling you Mikael lately?” She asked Gabriel laughed at Mikael’s blank face. “I introduce myself with my last name.” He said point blank.” She bobbed her head in understanding then moved to get out of the car but Gabriel was blocking her one exit and Sasha was sitting in the middle with her and Jackson was not making moves to open his door either. “Where did that come from?” Jackson asked. “Hmm mm, we were driving and the thought just popped up in my head.” Scarlett respond

“We have reached our destination.” At those words Sasha was awake and alert, ready for any attack but when she looked around she saw they were parked in the middle of nowhere. “We move on foot from here,” Gabriel said as everyone got out of the car. “WHY?!” Sasha whined, “Nobody likes to hike Gabe” Lydia groaned with Sasha, “I beg to differ, that is actually how Scar and I met.” Jackson added in full of laughter and Scarlett joined in on their private joke, causing their mates to give them death glares. “Oh stop it you two, it wasn’t like that.” Scarlett said “Yeah, I have mistaken her for an Irish person and she went off on me. Besides I wanted to know who was in my territory as her aura set the whole pack into a frenzy.” Jackson concluded and the two burst out laughing again. “I can’t even smell wolves from here,” Sasha whined again. “5-mile radius babe, we don’t want to lose the element of surprise until it’s too fucking late and they find us on their doorsteps,” Jackson said wi

“So you’re going to stand there and pretend you don’t know who I am?” Sasha asked Asher. The beta frowned and then sniffed the air again this time zoning in on the Queen Luna. His eyes widened as tears started to stream down his face, and he fell to his knees. That was not the reaction she expected. “Of course not Lilly,” Asher said, which made Scarlett's eyes widen as she recalled her dream of the other universe where Gabriel and Scarlett had a little girl with them called Lily. “My name is Sasha.” She said to him anger boiling in her chest. “Olivia named you Lily, forgive me, Lyle must have asked the humans to rename you to keep you hidden,” Asher said as his voice broke. “What did you just say?” She asked him in confusion as her anger only dissipated by a fraction. “Alpha Johnson did not kill you even though the witch warned him this day would come and you would seek your vengeance upon him for slaughtering our true Luna.” Beta Miller said, still on his knees. “Well, so my siste

ALTERNATE UNIVERSE Kael stepped forward, his face tense. "Your Majesty, Scarlette, Demetrius," he greeted them, bowing low. "I have troubling news from the Vampire Council." Gabriel's jaw clenched. "What is it?" "The Council has received reports of a group of rogue vampires attacking nearby villages, killing and turning humans indiscriminately," Kael explained. "They believe that it might be the work of one of our own." Gabriel's eyes narrowed. "One of our own?" "Yes, Your Majesty," Kael confirmed. "The Council suspects that the perpetrator might be one of the rebels who defied their orders and left the clan years ago." Scarlette felt a shiver run down her spine. "What do we do?" "We investigate," Gabriel said firmly. "We cannot let our kind be associated with this kind of brutality. We will find the perpetrator and bring them to justice." A chill ran down her spine, making her hair stand on end. Her ocean-blue eyes darted around, searching for any sign of what was to come. Suddenly, a sharp pang shot through Scarlett's head. She winced, clutching her temples, as a voice echoed in her mind. It was gentle yet commanding, like a whisper carried by the wind. "Scarlett," the voice called, resonating in her thoughts. Confused and a little frightened, Scarlett glanced around in the car at her friends, but they seemed oblivious to what she was experiencing. She shifted in her seat, trying to make sense of it all. I won’t waste my strength shouting over your chaos.” Moira answered Lydia. Lydia dissipated her power just enough to make Moira believe she had closed off access to her magic. “Great, now contrary to popular belief, I am not after the Nishruu inside of you.” Moira said in disgust, “I have seen how those things have driven family members crazy or to suicide, I refuse to host such an abomination.” she continued, “Alright let me start at the beginning.” Moira clapped her hands together and rubbed them as though she was ready to have a feast. “A little history little sister, the Nishruu was not placed inside of you because our family was trying to save
