Author's POV.The car Xander was in finally arrived at an old castle that stood majestically on the edge of a steep forest cliff. The place is hundreds of miles from the big city. The massive stone building was tall and imposing, with an extended front porch and massive columns supporting its thick roof. The place looked like nothing else he had ever seen in the city, but the way Xander felt about castles, he couldn't explain why the court was so intriguing to him but also creepy at the same time.He got out of the car and was greeted by a limp, pale-faced young man"Only one person is allowed to enter. Mr. Golvarian said that."Zigas and Xander looked at each other, "young master?""You don't have to worry, Zee. Everything will be fine," Xander reassured, but Zigas' face couldn't lie, worry reflected in his expression. The limp guy helped him into the castle and didn't say a word until they got to the end of the path, where there were two large wooden doors leading into the hallway.
Author's POVAfter Xander left, Archer went straight to Xevia, who was in the glass room. Arriving there, he found Xevia sitting sweetly facing a large window from a height that showed a view of the surrounding tall buildings. The sky was cloudless, but the sun had not yet reached its zenith, and its light reflected on the river's water that flowed and split this great city into two halves. It was a beautiful sight."What are you thinking about?" chirped Arch, breaking Xevia's reverie. The woman turned her head and saw her handsome brother-in-law."Arch, since when are you here?""You look pale. Are you okay?" asked Archer."I'm fine," said Xevia while holding back the discomfort in her stomach."Are you sure?" Archer couldn't just believe her words. Because before leaving earlier, his brother had told him everything about what Xevia had done the day before. About her attempt to escape by crossing the artificial lake behind Xander's house.About how she went there alone in an attempt t
Author's POV"Get up, and you have to come with me today."Xevia was reluctant at first, and she was not at all interested in Xander's invitation. However, she remembered the agreement she had made with Selia."Alright, I'll come with you. Where are you taking me? To your base again?"Xander looked at him with furrowed brows, "No.""Then where?""To where you want to go. I guarantee you won't regret coming with me this time."Xevia felt her hatred for the man gnawing at her. But with all her might, she did not want to show that hatred."Being with you is my lifelong regret, Xander. Do you think I could find something I regret more than this?"Instead of getting angry or showing a displeased expression, Xander smiled sweetly and caressed the top of Xevia's head."I hope you have no regrets other than spending the time of your life with me.""You know, regret hurts more than being killed many times.""Let go of your hand!" Xevia stepped back a few centimeters and moved her face away from
"I hope you feel at home here," Dorothy greeted Xevia warmly, and Clayton did the same, a warm welcome like family. They both led Xevia inside and showed her the room they had prepared for her.Xander walked slowly behind her as he was busy on the phone with Dom.Though this particular day, he wanted to spend some time on his honeymoon with his mate in the city of Izlav-a city known as a territory for rogues. Izlav city is known as the safest city.Izlav City itself had quite rigorous invisible security. Four security posts were in five directions, guarded by forty rogue soldiers. High mountains surrounded the city, and only rogues and people with special interests and permits could enter.Izlav City was founded by Xander's late grandfather, Davonso Van Balstair.Izlav City was Xander's choice as the safest place because it was the only place where none of the enemies of the rogues could penetrate its walls and security."Yes? Did my brother ask me to come?""Gosh, I just got here, an
Author's POVEveryone in the room fell silent, losing hope and even their breath, including Xevia. She, who had always disliked Xander and had even wished for her mate's death so that she could be free, did not expect that when she actually saw his death, she would feel something in her heart.Something called sadness and loss.Shouldn't those feelings not exist? Then why do they pop up and intervene?"I-is Xander dead?" Xevia's trembling voice filled the silence in the room. Her weak legs forced her forward to reach the man who was now lying on the sofa in the house's living room."Xander...."Xevia seemed to feel an invisible urge telling her to move forward and touch the man.It was a natural urge that just came when she saw Xander's face turn pale and cold."No, no," Xevia shook her head and began to cry.Uncontrollable crying that she didn't even know why she was crying for Xander. The man she hated. The mate she didn't expect. The mate she desperately wanted to leave behind. T
Author's POV Archer and his two men spread out in search of Xevia. Meanwhile, Xander, who was still confused about what had happened, kept asking Archer impatiently."Explain to me first, what really happened, Arch!" Xander said forcefully."Xevia just disappeared after turning into a wolf!" Archer shouted."Arch, you actually knew about this already, right?" Selia interrupted."About what?" Xander was stunned looking at Selia and Archer in turn."About Xevia, that she's a rare wolf descendant with two tails of fire."Xander looked at Archer."Arch...""Yes, Selia, we, all of us, including my men saw it, they all saw her transform-""This can't be happening!" Xander grabbed Archer's shirt collar."Can your men be trusted?""And can you-" Xander looked at Selia, "can I trust you?" His piercing eyes looked at Selia suspiciously."Calm down, Xander, calm down, why are you so suspicious of me?""I won't make the same mistake -""You'd better shut up, and don't follow us. I'm sorry I can
Author's POV"Where is the young master?" she asked Dorothy as she realized that she hadn't seen him for the past two days."Did the young master not tell you, young lady?" Dorothy, who was busy cooking lunch in the kitchen, replied without looking at Xevia, who had been following her everywhere like a chick to its mother."Nope,""He is going on a business trip." Xevia did this as a step in carrying out her plan. She would need Dorothy one day, and Xevia knew it."Young lady, give it a try," Dorothy took a few spoonfuls of her homemade cream soup and asked Xevia to try it."Is it salty enough?""It's delicious, just like my grandmother's cooking.""Oh, really?""Yes," Xevia replied with sparkling eyes, even though her heart wanted to curse every time she remembered her grandmother. It was still fresh in Xevia's memory how that older woman named Lizbeth kicked her and her mother out of the house just because her mother refused to be used as a sex slave by a cruel alpha. Yes, that tim
Author's POV"Hold my hand..." Xander asked her to hold his hand, but she was silent and didn't want to do what Xander wished for."Please, because I left my wand behind," Xander continued.Xevia let out a long sigh and took Xander's hand, "okay.""Where to?" asked Xevia."To my room.""To get your gift."Xevia sighed lazily, but she felt she had no choice but to follow Xander's will.Reaching in front of Xander's room, the man then, with some difficulty, took the key from his coat pocket."Where have you been the past two days?" Xevia asked suddenly."Me?" Xander asked back."Yes, you. Who else?""I took care of some work -""Why didn't you say goodbye to me? Isn't it important for me to know where my mate went?""Didn't I hear you wrong?" asked Xander."Since when do you care about me?"Xevia hissed and spat at Xander's annoying reaction. They went inside, "sit down," Xander pulled her to the couch. He then picked up something on the nightstand and handed it to Xevia. It was a jewel
