Chapter 9
Only darkness envelops the middle of this forest whereof I am at this moment. I walk as if I have no destination, turning right, turning left. But no trace of anyone that can be seen. it was amazing, but I could do nothing but continue walking, and only the big and round moon served as my light, to at least reflect everything to where I step my feet on the rocky road.
"Nanang? Tita Divina? Tito Gustavo?" I called them lifeless as if I have no hope of finding them.
When I noticed, I was walking back and forth at the same place, as I looked around each thing around, just to make sure that I had actually passed here before.
"Why did I just come back here? Where are Nanang, and the Palmora Family? And why am I here in the middle of the forest? No matter what I did, I couldn't get out of here!" Frustration occupies my whole being while asking myself about these strange things that are happening. So, instead of continuin
Chapter 10I could hear Harris calling his parents and Nanang, forcing me to open my eyes because I wanted to see them. When I was able to open my eyes, I quietly observe my surroundings, feeling every aura in the room. But when Nanang approached me, my eyes moved towards her, but I could not see Nanang's face because of the light directing to my eyes."Nang?" The way I called Nanang was short and full of weakness. Nanang held me by my right arm, but the first thing I felt was the roughness of Nanang’s hand."Hija, Dralia! Oh! Thank God, you’re awake!" Someone dropped the wet liquid from above. A liquid drips from above. I cannot guess where it came from. But when Nanang bent down and pressed her face to my arm, I finally realized that the tears falling on my skin was from her."I'm so worried about you, Dralia! I was so sad when I found out what happened to you. I should not have delayed it! Hoping that I didn't let you used
Chapter 11Suddenly, my head ached for thinking too much at the thought. Ten years? That’s impossible! What really happened? The last thing I remembered was Harris and I were at my school, and we talked to Sir Dracu. My brain ached again when it mentioned the name of the head of our school. “Argh! My head hurts!” My colleagues automatically, and hurriedly draw near me, here in my private hospital room. Nanang was the one who automatically spoke out.“Harris, call Dralia’s doctor! Tell her, ASAP!” Aunt Divina shouted at Harris. So, Harris quickly ran out of the room. Soon, Harris returned immediately.I was still holding my head with my hands. It hurts even more when a guest enters.“Ouch! Ahh! My head is hurting so much more!” My head sting so much. I can no longer move. So, what I did was I bend over, and pin my head to my two knees that were folded vertically.“Doc! It&
Chapter 12There is no place or any direction that I really wanted to go. I wandered around for about five hours and moved from place to place to find my own resting space. The morning had arrived and yet, I’m still not over with roaming around, until I felt thirsty and hungry at the same time, caused by moving from place to place. At exactly six o’clock in the morning, a long seat caught my eye in the park. Not a single person was there. Perhaps, after all, it’s Saturday, no school classes, and no work. I came back to being a mortal the moment I sat down here.I turned around while holding my stomach which was burning with hunger at the moment. When a wild bird passed in front of me, my stomach swelled up even more, in an instant. The bird stopped and scrambled along the path near where I was resting. I was shocked for a moment when the bird looked up at me, and I also stared at it, but my gaze was mixed with lust and yearning for th
Chapter 13Loud applause and screams aroused my consciousness. Before I raise my head, I first sense my body if there was any pain. But I felt nothing. And the next thing I did was open my eyes. I presumed that my blindfold was already removed. But as soon as I opened my eyes, there were visible lights, but it's still dim. It might be for the reason that both my eyes were under-wrapped by the blindfold for a long period of time.“My fellow vampires, I wish everyone a delightful evening! I just want to make you all aware of how grateful are our Supremes for accepting their invitation for this night’s gathering. Because this evening, those who are condemned, will be convicted!” I, without a doubt, heard the speaker’s announcement right in front of me, but his back was facing me.“Everyone already witnessed that the moment those black vampires had caused a rampage in the city of mortals, they then initiated brutal atta
Chapter 14My eyes widened at my discovery. “How co---?” I only spoke to myself. It is beyond the bounds of possibility for them to be associated with the vampire’s world. I can sense that they are pure human beings. I am pretty much sure about it.The room was filled with thunderous applause as they showed their welcoming atmosphere. At the same time, as I opened my eyes, Helen set her hands on my shoulders.“You just don’t know much, Vara.” I tried to look at her from behind, even though it may be uncomfortable for my neck. “What are you trying to say to me, Helen?” I asked questions wondering. “What happened between the ten years, Helen? And why did I lose my consciousness?” I weakened my voice as if whispering while talking to Helen.“They are the Bladimr Family.” She pointed out the family members in front of them, they were the ones referred to as the vampire no
Chapter 15The red stone on my neck shone even brighter. I had to close my eyes a little because of this blinding light. I can see Blake looking at me seriously. No, I was wrong! He was seriously looking at this red stone on my neck that continuously shines brighter.“Why do you have that in your possession?” Blake asked me loudly, and emphatically. And then, he tried to snap up my necklace from my neck. I could not move because I am tied up with my two hands.“W-What are you doing? Why are you trying to lay hands on my necklace?” I shouted to him aloud. I do not know what is happening to me, and why, all of a sudden, I am annoyed at why someone is trying to take my red stone away from me.While he was still holding my red stone necklace, he then tried to snatch it again from my neck, but he just couldn’t take it that easy. To the extent that he grasped and wrapped the string of beads in his hand, and reckles
Chapter 16I stopped looking back because we heard a loud bang from a gun. For that, Helen’s attention was diverted, so, I took the opportunity to run away from her.I ran even though my neck still hurts because she strangled me so much earlier.“Vara! Stop! Vara!”But instead of stopping and looking back at her, I did not even bother. I do not want to miss my chance of escaping from this place. I know in myself that I am not a pure vampire. And human blood still lingers in my body. When I noticed that I had already run far away, I stopped for a moment and was still catching my breath. Suddenly there were pairs of feet, and talks that I could hear, so, I look around and find out where I could hide. I am grateful to locate, just near my spot, a wide pole where I can hide.I calmed myself and felt the atmosphere.“We will surely pay for this misstep to Prince Dracu if we cannot hunt down the capt
Chapter 17Harris and I were still staring at each other because of what I had discovered about Helen. But instead of startling myself, I didn’t seem to feel any remorse for biting her before.I am the one who first let go of our gaze because I felt a little embarrassed. But he suddenly touched my chin and directed my face to him again.“Don’t feel sorry about her, she’s the one who did something wrong to you, first. In fact, you’re just defending yourself that time. If she had not given you poisoned juice, you might not have slept for ten years.”“How did you find out about that?”Instead of answering me, he suddenly brought his face closer to mine. Because of the proximity, I stumbled.“Don’t mind the past, Dralia, let’s face today, and our future.”I’m confused.“What future are you talking about, Harris? Aren’t
Chapter 78We lost sight of the strange cloud we saw earlier, and instead of looking for that strange cloud, we just ignored it in the end, seeing that if we choose our curiosity over our mission, it might slow down our journey. Curiosity kills, as others would say. We just tell and make ourselves believe that maybe that strange cloud we saw just does not exist for real. Or maybe we did not see it in a clear view. What’s important now is our mission, nothing else would matter most. And maybe the three of us just see it as something unusual but not in the actual.“Won’t you still stop waiting for that strange cloud to come out again, Brother Harris, and Kiloy? Because if you’ll ask me if I were you, just don’t bother to disturb that cloud anymore. It is a waste of our time. Your curiosity will slow us down. That may just want our attention. And it is unworthy for real. Let’s just leave it l
Chapter 77We now continued our journey, left the river after we already satisfied our thirst, and then walked and walked to where our feet would take us. We don’t want to waste our time, since Dralia, and the whole palace including the whole vampire race needs us now. I’m just worried now on this walk of ours, what if we meet some other kingdoms again? How can we explain to them that we are not adversaries? That we don’t have any single intention to harm them and their entire kind? What if we meet some obstacles or challenges along the way that will slow down our pace? What if something will happen to us while we are busy completing our mission and do not care anymore about our safety? I have these thousands of what-ifs in my mind, but I am motivating myself to do my best through this journey, and finishing it successfully will be great. It would be nice if Dralia was given a choice to be with us right now because we did
Chapter 76We don’t have any slightest idea of where we are now, but given that we already feel tired, it only means that we are already far from where we came from, which is the palace, and we, in that far just by running and jumping as quickly as possible. Our tiredness is like killing us slowly, that is why we stopped and rested for the meantime. We need to rest of course especially that we had to use our energy that much to quickly get out from the palace unnoticed by the black vampires. It is not an easy task to do since vampires have a strong smell. That means it can smell anything, everything. You name it. This is the right timing for us to rest since the morning already arrived and we are still running and jumping around not noticing it. It slipped out from our minds since we don’t care anymore if the morning reached us. All we think about is how to get out, continue the journey even with Dralia not around unlike the usual, and most
Chapter 75How long have we been here inside the CR, just staying inside and waiting for Dralia to permit us to at least show ourselves but Tonette still doesn’t let us out. I am now even more confused about what was happening right now. What’s going on outside and why doesn’t she let us out? What is it, for real? Is Dralia still safe?Where are Tita Delia and Sir Dracu? Why are we hiding like this as if someone had just arrived and does not want to see us? I hope Kiloy and I hurried to use the bathroom earlier, it may be possible that we can still have a chance to witness or at least had a peek with the incident right at this moment outside. And maybe I could be of help just in case something bad happened outside. I just hope Dralia and her parents are still outside safe and sound. And I just hope this hiding will end in no time for I am very worried about Dralia now and wanted to see her in an instant with my two eyes.
Chapter 74We made the most out of the few hours we could spend with Dralia’s parents since we only have limited time now. The full moon is fast approaching and we should continue our journey to Del Mundo Mountains again so we could reach there right on time. As well as we still can plan our next move upon reaching there. We should hurry before it is too late. All the fellow vampires hope that we could do our mission successfully and we could save everyone, even humans from bad vampires as well.To make our stay more memorable since we only have a little time left to stay here, we had a celebration in which Dralia first informed us of the reason why we held this kind of celebration and her parents agreed to prepare for everyone. This celebration symbolizes hope for everyone that we could make it and finish our mission right on time, and a reminder to us that they trust us and we should try our best to fulfill our mission for them. It is like a fa
Chapter 73There was a sudden knock on the door. That unexpected knock made us quickly arranged ourselves properly before we answered who knocked on the door and found out who was waiting outside. After the door opened, that was the only time we had come to realize that we didn’t lock it earlier the moment we entered the room. That made my heartbeat raised faster than the actual upon realizing that we were just as calm as it was, not knowing or making sure of locking the door in the first place before doing something that would be embarrassing for the both of us if ever someone of their family, like one of her parents or maybe Tonette, who would be caught us doing awkward thing inside. We were both very careless. How idiot we were. But we didn’t blame ourselves to the fullest since we did not plan of doing it in the first place. It was just an accident for real. We were just being drowned in our emotions and that ma
Chapter 72After Tonette and I talked last night about what I had dreamed, I left her in the living room after I asked her permission to leave first, since there was nothing else to talk about and I had already collected information that I could connect piece by piece to come up a solid explanation about my dream, if it was for real or just a dream at all. There is still a part of me that wants to just keep in myself about what’s inside of my dream that night. I am half bothered but I don’t want to believe that what’s in my dream could possibly happen because I don’t what will I do or what can I do if ever. Dralia and I also talked about what happened last night. I did not have a second thought anymore on telling her about it and asking her some questions because I really wanted to know the whole truth. I told her how I felt after that dream and it never left my mind since. I have the right to know how Dralia feels about being forced by t
Chapter 71When Kiloy cried all of a sudden, he said something that opened my eyes. He seems to have mentioned the incident last night.“I’ll read it tonight, I hope there’s no noise later, just so I don’t wake up anymore or be disturb.” He said that comfortably, it seemed like he just didn’t care to say that.“What’s that again, Kiloy?” it would have been appropriate for him to leave when I stopped him.“Huh? Why Harris? ” he looked at me in surprise.“You said there was a noise last night,” I repeat I am probably very desperate to listen now, because of my question to Kiloy.Earlier I asked Tonette, now I ask Kiloy. Maybe I shouldn’t ask them about that anymore.“Ahh, it doesn’t matter, then it’s not imp ---.” I stopped speaking when he answered my question. I thought he would ignore my question to him.
Chapter 70I am now sitting by myself in the living room, and at the same time reading the books from under the table. I was just seriously reading something I didn’t even mind about the surroundings when the chair I was sitting on all of a sudden moved on its own. I was startled knowing that I am just alone in here, but why all of a sudden my chair moved even if I didn’t move it myself personally.“ Brother Harris?” I dropped the book because of shock when I realized Tonette was now by my side in an instant. It double my heartbeat upon realizing how Tonette just emerge that quickly and out of nowhere like a wild mushroom without me expecting or just sensing it myself. I tried to fix myself and asked her why went here unannounced. “W-What are you doing here?” Even if I am still startled by the thought of her being with me now
