“Ulrica and Quintessa’s team will attack the first barrier, Lingo. After that, Ingo’s team will attack the second barrier, Fulmort. Drusus's team will attack the third barrier, the Moon. Finally, Militiades will attack the main base, the Tane Clan Palace. ”
Carissa pointed to the area that had been marked in red on the map as she spoke. She raised her head and said, “I hope everyone is ready. Our target today is the Tane Clan. If something unexpected happens, we must retreat immediately. Do you understand? ”
“Your Highness, what if the Royal Vampires show up?” Quintessa asked worriedly.
Carissa replied coldly, “They won’t show up. I’m sure the Werewolves are keeping them busy in the North. According to our spies, the majority of the vampire armies had already been sent there to defend their borders. As power in the South has dwindled, we will attack it tonight. ”
All four of Carissa’s subordinates as well as fellow fighters thought about her words and agreed. However, Quintessa is still worried.
“But, Your Highness, this is the first time we are attacking the vampires. Maybe, you can wait here and wait for us to come back? If anything goes wrong, you can help us. But if you are also there ... ”
Quintessa didn’t finish her words. But, everyone understood what she wanted to say.
If Carissa goes to the battlefield and something unpredictable happens, their species will never exist again.
Carissa frowned. She thought about the matter in her heart for a moment before her eyes blinked with determination.
She is their leader and she is not a coward. If something goes wrong and she can’t handle it, doesn’t that mean what she’s learned so far is useless?
“No. I will not let that happen. If something goes wrong, you must follow my instructions and retreat to our castle! Do you understand? ” her eyes shone with a cold light.
Quintessa sighed and knew that no matter how many times she tried to persuade this stubborn best friend of hers, she would never be able to change her mind.
Once Carissa is determined to do something, she won’t back down until she gets it.
“Understood, Your Highness.” she nodded.
“Okay. We’ll leave in five minutes. Line up your team and send them my order.” Carissa took the map and rolled it up before stuffing it into the bag behind her.
Militiades were just about to leave the camp when Carissa called his name, “Militia!”
Militiades turned and walked back inside, “Your Highness?”
Carissa looked at him and said in a serious tone, “If anything goes wrong, I will depend on you to lead our team back to our castle.”
After she spoke, she took one of the glowing bracelets on her wrist, “I need you to wear this bracelet.”
Militiades was at first confused, but when he saw the bracelet, he immediately retreated and knelt tremblingly, “Your Highness, I don't dare!”
Carissa frowned, “This is my order!”
Militiades raised his head and looked at Carissa’s stern face. However, how would he dare to wear a Soul Huntress’s bracelet?
This is a tradition kept in ancient books. If the Soul Huntress appoints someone to represent her, she will give that person one of her glowing bracelets.
The people who represent them will then have the power to rule the people under them.
“Your Highness, why-?” he didn’t dare finish his words when he saw Carissa’s eyes that had already turned dark.
“Militia, you're crossing the line!”
Militia bowed his head immediately in fear. How stupid he is! How could he forget that he could not question the decision of a Soul Huntress?
“Do you dare disobey my orders, Commander Militiades?”
“I don't dare!” Militiades immediately accepted the bracelet and wore it on his right wrist.
“Let’s go.”
Carissa walked out of the camp and Militiades hurriedly got up before following Carissa out.
Outside the camp, the hunters were lining up with their leaders in front.
After making sure all the hunters were present and ready to move, Carissa turned her face to look toward a city that showed a dim light from afar.
She raised her hand and said, “Attack!”
In the blink of an eye, dozens of light blue meteors can be seen flashing towards the city with lightning speed.
Carissa closed her eyes and heard screams of fear and moans of pain from afar.
She waited for fifteen minutes before she opened her shining eyes and sped towards the city.
She saw a true bloody scene for the first time in her life. Although she has had many horrific experiences during her training, it is not as bad as what she sees now.
Corpses littered everywhere and everyone fought violently and with strong vigour. The fire was burning nearby houses like a flood.
The vampires who were close to the fire could no longer hold it and burned to ashes in the blink of an eye.
Carissa watched what was going on around her as she walked leisurely towards the main base.
The hunters seem to have discovered a great weapon to destroy their enemies when they notice a few more of the vampires have been burned to ashes.
Now, they no longer try to defend themselves from the vampire's attack and start pushing them towards the fire.
The number of the vampire army then gradually decreased. Carissa breathed a sigh of relief when she saw that victory was already in their hands.
She focused her gaze on the figures that were standing in front of their palace. There are only six vampires left for them to eliminate.
Militiades, Quintessa and Drusus stood opposite them with drawn swords.
“How dare you step into my territory!”
The man in the middle held a cane in his right hand. He must have been alive for decades, but looking at his face, anyone could have thought he was in his thirties.
Carissa smiled cynically when she heard his words. She wanted to see if they still had other tricks up their sleeves.
“Your territory? I’m afraid your territory will be gone today, King Tane. ” Militiades replied and smiled mockingly.
There was a small amount of blood sprayed on his face and clothes. So are Quintessa and Drusus.
If one looks closely, one will see that they have also suffered minor injuries.
Duke Tane laughed out loud, “Today, I’m going to show you what the consequences are for challenging me. Go!”
Carissa and the others wait for them to attack. However, the figures stood still without moving at all.
Carissa watched her surroundings with caution. A bad premonition arose in her heart.
“Roar!”“Roar!”Stunned, Carissa watches as dozens of untamed dogs rush towards them from all directions all of a sudden. One of the dogs leapt into the air and pounced on Carissa.Carissa pulled out her sword and swung it towards the oncoming wild dogs.Blood splashed onto her white coloured robe when the dog’s body was split into two. However, Carissa didn’t stop there as more wild dogs pounced on her.Militiades and his two friends were also busy fighting the wild dogs. Soon after, Ulrica, Ingo and therefore the remaining hunters joined them. The Tane’s family stood still and watched this scene smugly. They gritted their teeth in excitement and couldn’t wait for the wild dogs to tear the hunters apart.Quintessa swung her sword towards the 2 oncoming wild dogs and turned around to see Carissa, who was battling 6 dogs that were surrounding her.“Your Highness!”Quintessa was about to run and help her and didn’t notice the oncoming dogs behind her.“Agh!”Quintessa screamed in pain wh
PLAK!A loud sound of someone being slapped rang through the huge mansion.Carissa’s head snapped to the side as blood trickled down her mouth after receiving a solid slap on her face. She bit the inside of her cheek before looking up at the person who slapped her.“Insolent!”“How dare you look at me like that?”“How dare you bring those ‘ghosts’ to mess with us?!”PLAK!Carissa clenched her fist tightly when she received another slap on her face.If she wasn’t tied up, she would have surely landed a punch or two to this blood-sucking fellow.Tisiphone who had gained consciousness watched from the side with smugness on her face.‘Hah! You’re dead today!’The corner of Carissa’s mouth curled up. She glanced at Tisiphone with a tiny glint in her eyes.Even though Tisiphone had gained consciousness, she may not know that Carissa had succeeded in breaking through her mind and planted a seed inside it.That ‘seed’ would slowly grow until Tisiphone became a loyal servant to Carissa. If Tisi
Carissa jumped from the tree and approached the unconscious vampire. She had flicked a paralyzing needle in his direction hidden in her sleeves. She squatted and put her right palm on the vampire’s chest. Blue fire surges from her palms and spreads to the vampire’s entire body. She watched with fascination as it turned into ashes.Suddenly, a small sphere ball, like a bead, floats into the air and enters Carissa’s forehead before it disappears.Carissa’s eyes flashed blue and she felt her body become stronger. She stood up and smiled wickedly before making her way through the forest and eliminating the vampires who still haven’t given up on searching for her.Although her senses of smell weren’t functioning very well because of the rain, she still could use her hearing senses. It would be better if she could smell her enemy but guess, hearing their movements is enough. The rain is quite nosy. But, Carissa had a higher degree of hearing senses. In half an hour, the army of vampires in t
“Ugh!”She was still in a state of bliss when pain radiated from her chest and made Carissa spurt out blood from her mouth. She wiped her mouth and took a quick look at the unconscious Aischylos on the ground.‘It’s good that you’re still alive.’Carissa didn’t let Heidrich rest after his fierce battle. She needed to kill him fast. She was still speeding towards him when she saw a black shadow appearing above her.Within seconds, Carissa found herself inside a net that was held by four vampires. She was about to use her fire to burn the net when her power bounced back and hit her.“Argh!”Carissa clutched her burning hand with a pained look on her face. Not giving up, she tried it one more time but received the same result. She reached towards her foldable sickle on her boot when she heard a chuckle, “Give it up. The net is embedded with magic.”“Ma..magic?” Carissa’s eyes widen.“But, how? Magic...witches...they don’t exist!”Heidrich smirked, “Well...It looks like you still haven’t g
Heidrich saw that the werewolves did not give him any response and sneered, “Fine, then. You should be prepared for your doom!”Then, he led the vampires back to a safe place to avoid the sun and asked his men to carry the still-unconscious Aischylos. After the vampires left, Carissa who was in the back, silently retreated into the dark forest. She needed to escape. However, her hope was crushed when she stepped on a branch and made all the werewolves turn towards her.“My friends, it was nice meeting you for the first time. I have something important to do. We’ll meet again if we have the chance in the future. Bye!”Then, she sprints into the woods at a fast speed. However, half of her speed was restrained by the net wrapping around her body. She had sprinted forward for five minutes, but she didn’t hear any sound of the werewolves chasing her at all.Did that mean they let her go?With this thought, Carissa slowed down her pace. Soon, she saw the exit of the forest and a bright light
For a moment, there was a brief silence between them. None of them spoke, but they were staring at each other.No.More like, observing.Carissa found him attractive and Leroy did too. However, there was no crazy heartbeat as gossiped by their mated friends.Leroy was annoyed by his own thought. He never thought of having a mate. He alone was enough.Carissa was the same, she didn't need a mate as she believed she could have her own life. Both of them thought that having a relationship was too messy and that having a mate was a weakness. They shivered when they recalled the smitten look on their mated friends. Their mated friends say that having a mate made their life feel complete and they were stronger together. If only Carissa and Leroy knew how similar their thoughts were."You're not a vampire, why are your eyes red?" Leroy asked.Carissa rolled her eyes, "You are not a witch, why are your eyes purple?"Leroy shot her a cold look.Yeah. He's not a witch. But, why are his eyes purp
Leroy took her back to the previous fighting place between Heidrich and the werewolves. The werewolves had set up a camp and were currently sitting in five groups. All of them were sitting around the fire, chatting and grilling meat that they hunted a few hours ago. Some even dared to take out bottles of hidden alcohol and drink openly. The atmosphere was lively. None of them cares for Leroy who was holding Carissa on his shoulder. As for Carissa, a small bubble from her nose popped out as she snored. Leroy went back to his camp slowly and made Carissa feel drowsy along the way.The fatigue from fighting all day beat her and helped her fall asleep in seconds. She was still dreaming happily when Leroy threw her inside his camp unceremoniously and woke her up."Ugh! Damn, Leroy! Can't you be a gentleman for a second? My back is broken!" she sat up and snarled at him.Leroy watched her rubbing her back and curled his lips. He believes this woman must be talking nonsense again."Don't Fret
