Bella:

“I’m sorry for what happened, and I will be here with you throughout,” Hazel said, and I looked at her with a smile on my face, grateful for the fact I could choose to feel pain or not.

With that, I got to my feet, taking my phone out of my pocket, then I texted Chelsea.

“Did you go for the match?”

My phone beeped in a matter of minutes.

“No. Ernest is playing, and Rebby says we cannot go because she will cry a pool of tears.”

“Great, I am on my way to your room.”

“Okay.”

I turned to Hazel, placing a hand on her shoulder. “Thanks for helping, and I appreciate it, but I am fine. I will need a moment for myself. See you in a couple of hours,” I said to her, then I turned to leave.

“I could come with you if you want; the games mean nothing to me,” she said, and I shook my head with a smile which didn’t leave my face.

Then I left the room, making my way to Chelsea’s room, which was a floor above. Her room looked different; it was a single large room with three beds, which had the n

Just…”“Let me be!” I breathed, and Hazel kept mute, looking at me, then she walked back to her bed, quietly grabbing her bag.“Hazel, I didn’t mean it, I am just…”“I understand, and it is fine,” she replied, then she walked towards the door. “I will try to save food at the cafe.”With that, she left. I groaned loudly, slapping my head, which hurt so badly that I had to stand up to get an aspirin from my drawer. After I had taken it, I rushed to the bathroom, hurriedly getting dressed. He skipped classes for the entire week, locking himself in his room, drinking day in and day out.The twins, who had sworn off Ryder, felt bad for him. Although they hadn’t been in his room for a week, the fact he wouldn’t leave bothered them.“We should probably check on him,” Kai suggested. Finn, who had been immersed in video games the entire day, tossed his phone on his chest with a groan, then sat up straight on the couch.“Probably. He’s been in there for a week,” he replied. She had been the one who understood his pain, and the moments he shared with her made it all seem to vanish, but now she was gone. The hurt was immeasurable, and he wanted it to stop. When he couldn’t stop thinking about the pain, he jerked up from bed and grabbed his keys.He made his way to the elevator, and as soon as it slid open, he got in, resting his back against the wall. Third person Pov:It was a hot Saturday morning in Frost Pack, and Bella had just returned from one of her episodes with the Sapphire Belles. She was on her way back to her room when she was cornered by the twins.“What do you want?” she asked, her brows creased and her arms crossed.Finn and Kai stared into her eyes for a couple of seconds without saying a word. They hated what she had turned into, but mostly, they hated themselves for not believing Ryder loved her. They had all ruined each other’s lives, and they knew the only way to make it right was for all hands to be on the pump.“We want to talk,” Finn spoke up, and Bella scoffed.“Hi Finn and Kai. I don’t like you, and I would like to get to my room now. Bella’s POV:The four of us left for the apartment, and silently, I prayed Ryder would be fine. I tried to block out the gory images clouding my head, picturing the things that could have happened to him. I believed he was okay, and it would be nothing severe, but I was just fooling myself because I could feel it in my chest. When we arrived at the tall glass building stretching far into the sky, the twins handed me a card key.“The apartment is the penthouse,” they said, and I nodded, opening the door. Hazel grabbed my hand, giving me a reassuring smile. I got out and headed towards the sliding doors.I made my way straight to the elevator, pressing the button that led to the penthouse. When it stopped and the doors slid open, my chest thumped as I walked into the hallway leading to the front door. I slid the card on the lock and swallowed hard, waiting for the door to open. What lay behind was what I had dreaded. There, on the floor, Ryder lay hopelessly with bloodied clothes, makin

I can’t really remember how I got all bloodied. The last thing I can remember was you saving me, and I can’t imagine what I would have done without you,” he said, pulling her into a hug, while Fae turned back briefly, giving me a smile that hurt more than anything.I tried to steady my breath, but it wasn’t working, and my mind became lost.“Why the hell is she still

Third Person Pov:After a few minutes, Hazel sat up in bed as sweat clung to her skin while she stared blankly at the dark room. The thoughts of what had happened earlier still swirled through her mind, and Riley’s comforting presence next to her did little to soothe the icy knot of fear and dread settling deep in her stomach. Something about the nightmare didn’t feel right—it felt far too vivid, and too real to be just a dream. Her parents’ faces and the accusations in their voices couldn’t be figments of her imagination, and the witch in her refused to let it go.“No,” she whispered in a shaky breath.Riley’s hand rubbed soothing circles on her back. “Hazel, it was just a nightmare. It’s okay—”He tried to convince her with a sleepy voice, but Hazel shook her head sharply, pushing the covers off her body as she swung her legs over the edge of the bed.“It wasn’t just a nightmare, Riley,” she said firmly, trying to steady her voice. Bella:Today was cheerful enough for most of the students at Howlstone Academy. The vibrant energy of exam prep filled the air, a relief from the tension that had shadowed the halls two weeks ago when Fae was expelled. There were no bullies lurking around to ruin the day, and for once, I didn’t have to glance over my shoulder, expecting someone to plot my demise. As usual, I walked to class with Hazel and the triplets. The sun streamed through the tall windows, casting long beams across the polished floor, but something about the brightness felt off. It was too cheerful, too perfect. As soon as we stepped into the hallway, the bell blared through the air, startling me.“That’s the bell for class,” Hazel said, her voice snapping me back to reality.“See you guys later,” I said to the triplets, giving them a quick wave as I grabbed Hazel’s hand.We made our way down the corridor, the familiar hum of conversation and footsteps filling the space.
