Elara’s POV
“Two hours.” Marco’s breathed in my ear. “I'm not a patient man.”
With that, he leaned upright, and took the longest three seconds to study my fake confidence, while he rubbed the tip of his fingers in ridicule. Satisfied, he turned to leave.
What was the time for? My mind was all over the place in confusion. But whatsoever it meant, it was dangerous.
Evelyn was still frozen on her spot, flustered by the tall demi-god in his dangerous regalia. Like a shadow, he breezed past her, not sparing her a glance, nor a word.
The quite hard cushion hurt my butt when I collapsed in it, too weak to stand for another minute.
“Lilian…” Evelyn rushed to where I was. “Gosh!”
I sucked in cool air through my clenched teeth. “I thought you needed an ambulance.”
She pulled closer, rubbing bodies with mine as if to validate her presence. “Who was that fine-ass, perfect chocolate-dripping diabetes?” Her tone was a soft moan as she rubbed her neck and fanned her sweaty face.
“He isn't far gone, you can have all the bars.” I waved her off, too occupied with my troubles and his threat.
“Lily?” She tugged on my arm.
“He's just someone I randomly met.” I hissed a lie. For someone who knew nothing about my past, she wasn't a hard nut. “And like the bunch of psychos out there, he wants a mistress… Screw that. A slave!”
She jerked at my harsh tone.
“Nice. I mean uh…” She swallowed, still fascinated. “So, what's he proposing?”
Nothing- I stopped myself immediately. No stranger would show up at my door and want sex in exchange for nothing.
“Ten thousand dollars.”
Her eyes popped out at my lies. “And?”
I blinked. “I'm not that cheap.”
“Damn!” She palmed her face. “Tell me you didn't reject it.” My silence was all the answers she sought. “For one freaking thousand, I'd switch places.”
“Good luck with that,” I frowned.
Gently, she rubbed my arm, pacifying me. “Lily, think about Violet.” she started. “I'm not saying you should sell your body, but look at it this way. It's good sex and good pay.”
Her words made me uncomfortable. It brought back memories I fought so hard to suppress.
“Violet’s father would want you to move on too. It's not your fault he died.” She pouted.
To her, the dickhead died in a fatal car crash. The day I lied about my history, I really wished he had died that way. And now, I hope it would be a truck breaking his bones and his devilish soul departed to hell!
“Enough, Evie.” I heaved a loud sigh. “I know you're trying to help, at least let's make Violet cupcakes and cookies. You know how she loves them.”
I stood up, proactive. “When she wakes up, I don't want her starving.”
“Sounds like a plan.”
Putting Marco and his sensual spell behind us, we giggled over cakes and cookies, baking with our hearts and the last ingredients. By the time we were done, it was about two hours and thirty minutes.
‘Two hours. I'm not a patient man.’
“Lily?!” Evelyn’s voice pulled me back to herself. “Come on already.”
I hurried down the walkway, which was a mix of petals and pebbles, joined her in the cab she had stopped, and we drove to the clinic.
Evelyn paid the rider and let me lead the way. She was holding the bag of snacks and Violet’s favorite fruit drink. She was a sweet little girl, and considerate too. Whatever mama made was her best. Tears glistened in my eyes. She was the only good thing from Marco’s loins, the only reason I would miss my way over again.
“Lilian!” Alice’s voice drew unwanted attention.
She pulled her maxi bag over her neck and hurried towards me. Reading the room, she didn't yell. “It's so nice to finally see you.” She hugged me and patted my back. “I decided to stop by before going home.”
Stop by?!
“Hope you weren't hurt from the attack?” She continued, unaware of my conflicting mind. “Poor pretty pie.” She tilted my chin.
Alice was acting weird, matter of fact, creepy! I made extra snacks to formally apologize to her for messing up her gig. I had only told Evelyn about the accident while baking earlier. So, how did she know? Hearing her rap, I was forced to believe in witches.
“Don’t beat yourself up, dear.” She held my hand and pulled me along. “I have called my friend and pleaded on your behalf.”
Evelyn looked away, so I assumed she had a hand in this.
“Why would you stop by?” I spoke the first thing that came to my mind. “I mean, you've been here all day and I'm thankful.”
“It's nothing.” She smiled. “You showed up at such an impromptu call, Violet must be proud of you.”
“Call?” I stopped, dead on my track. “I lost my phone that night.”
I noticed Alice’s face flow from cheerful to confused. “I called to inform you that I needed to pick up an urgent mail, and you texted me back.”
She dug into her bag and searched for the phone. “See.”
‘I'll be right there for Violet.’
It didn't sound like me, but hopping on my impulse, I sprinted for my daughter’s room, with my heart beating heavily against my chest.
Holy heavens, let this please be a prank.
I pushed the door like a tout, almost falling face flat on the ground.
The bed was scaringly empty!
Violet wasn't on it!
I went rigid for a moment. Dashing for the restroom, hoping to find her there, it was also empty.
“My baby…” I stuttered, labored breath from a panic attack.
“Lilian,” Alice’s shaky voice beckoned. Her lips and hands trembled, slowly taking her whole body in waves of tremors.
I snatched her phone, brain in a hyper state as I read through text:
‘Tick Tock.
Your daughter is safe… for now.Your Master.’
Are you enjoying the story so far?
Elara’s POV “Call the police, now!” Alice rang it out like a fire alarm, bitter emotions were thickly laced in her look, and her voice. Confused and spontaneous, Evelyn rooted out her phone and began punching digits with sweaty hands. “Stop.” I flung the phone from her grip and retreated to the end of the room, with my hands stretched to my back, preventing the slightest chance of her retrieving it. “Lilian, what are you doing?” Evelyn’s soft voice totally changed. “Protecting my daughter.” I maintained my stance. “He wouldn't want me to involve the police.” She looked from me to the old lady, and back at me. Her eyes bore curiosity, one I was afraid would go unattended. “Let me handle it my way,” I resumed my unbaked tale. “It's my attention he seeks.” Alice scrunched her nose and furrowed her brows. She was the only one amongst us yet to meet Marco. “Is he some sick fella?” I opened my mouth, but mopped, and shut it. “I'll be fine.”Silence gently crept from my end of the r
Elara’s POV ‘I, Elara Saint Clair, will serve Don Marco Conti as his submissive bride and personal pet for as long as my master pleases.’ What the actual heck?! Is he crazy?! I looked away from the ridiculous clause on the contract and up at the tall ugly pile with a stinky smirk. He tilted his head in a ‘go on' way. ‘Dickhead.’ I hissed silently and put the pen to paper, then stopped for a moment. “Chihuahua isn't that pricey. How about a cat? They're good pets.” He didn't laugh at my dry joke. “Just so we're clear, do I get to sing for you?” I played around, knowing what it meant but too troubled to admit it. Mute, he thrust a foot forward, sliding in between my legs, and gently parting them. He set his hand on the desk and pressed forward, almost crashing me to the clean wall. My heartbeat spiked, not out of fear, but for an odd emotions his presence nourished; sensual need, lusts… arousal. “Soft and rhythmic bedroom melody.” He murmured, kissing the bridge of my nose with
Marco’s POV “What the fuck?” Words eluded me at the comic sight of Elara. Bashing my expectations of her in a sexy skimpy night wear or preferably nothing, she is dressed like a cow… An actual breastfeeding cow! First, the thick length of a hoodie crept to her palms, before she got in the balloon cow costume with swollen breasts and four pink nipples. Unable to hold back, Sofia burst into laughter, rocking her head against my arms. I thought she was too pissed off to care, but she showed up minutes later to rant and cuss, and a sweetheart, let it slide. “Have you lost it?” Her face was the only thing spared. Still, a pink hat hovered at the back of her neck. “You said I could get whatever I needed…” “You call this a fucking need?” I clenched my fingers and sighed. “And Francesca allowed this madness?”She startled and laced the fabric around her fingers, anxious. “She kicked against it.”For a moment, I paused, lacking the right words. My muscles tensed beneath the thick layers
Marco's POVPapa?!Her tiny voice echoed in my head, refusing to die off like a severe migraine. There was no fucking chance in hell that I'd have a child, especially not with Elara. It was a paid one-night stand That night with her slutty mum was fresh at the back of my mind. Just like every paid whore, I banged raw. They were always put under pills by the club's managers and screened before being sent over. Elara… My eyes were on the child. Terrified, her small frame trembled beneath the sheets, with every pores seeping out thick beads of sweat. Running along her features, now taking out every time to assess every damn details. She was undeniably Elara’s; pretty blue eyes, blonde hair, cupid bowl lips…“I'm sorry, Papa. Birdie wanted to play.” She inhaled deeply, terrified, pulling two breaths at once.“Violet!” Elara's sharp tone break the subtle investigation. As if the little monster had prayed for this moment, she threw the sheets aside, jumped out of bed, and into her mo
Elara's POV ‘Who are the Contis? What goes behind closed doors in this mansion?’ My eyes scanned from Sofia to the vacant seat beside her where Marco should be seated. Francesca dished pancakes on our plates before running honey syrup all over, causing it to drizzle down. She added a bowl of berries and slices of apples to each of our trays before a mug of warm coffee. “I'll do the rest.” I stopped her from adding sugar and milk to my mug. She was already used to serving the family, so she knew the exact scoops of each additive. She bowed subtly and walked out of the dining area while I served myself. It was just 7 AM. The family had a tradition of meeting at the table early. I left Marco in the room as he was busy on a phone call that had somehow lasted from last night. I couldn't help but wonder if everything was okay. And just maybe this would be the end of him and the start of my freedom. Violet, on the other hand, was having her beauty sleep, innocent and unbothered. “All
Elara's POV “My baby is sick.” The words formed before I could stop myself. And now that it was out, there was no turning back. Marco continued to work on his laptop. He didn't show any sign of concern or whatever the most inhumane person should at least possess. “I need to take her to the clinic for checkup and your men won't let me past the gate.” I resumed, trying not to be bothered by his nonchalance. “The family's doctor will come do that.” He didn't look past his laptop. On the screen were minimized apps showing a weird template. The one with the biggest view was a video of people working in what seemed like a warehouse. Looking at the date and time, it was dated, which meant it was CCTV footage. Unexpectedly, he closed his laptop, but didn't look at me. “You know why you're here, focus on that.” He stated. “I do not find it to be fun when people sneak up on my business.”I sighed. “Thanks for the offer, but I don't want no doctor treating my child like second class.” I r
Elara’s POVI flagged down the first taxi and hopped in. I repeated Evelyn's address and impatiently tapped my feet in the car. Once we arrived, I rushed out, half-running down the cleared pathway. I felt overwhelmed by nostalgia. I had lived in the downtown part of town for years and nursed my baby there, which was a far cry from Marco's luxurious life. “Lily!” She dropped the shovel and scissors and ran towards us, arms wide open. “Oh, my darling.” She hugged us warmly, rocking our bodies in the warm embrace. “I've missed you and my baby so much.” “We've missed you more.” I sighed, inhaling her sweet fragrance and reliving every moment we shared. “I don't know how much time I have left.” My lips trembled. She pulled away, her face taking a frown. “Come on, let's go in.” We had mac and cheese and a glass of chilled milkshake. Violet ate to her fill and danced around Aunt Evelyn, happy to see her. “Sweetie, can you excuse your aunt and me for a minute?” “A minute?” She stretche
Elara's POV‘I'm beautiful and smart… I'm priceless.’I recited the mantra in my head over and over again. Sitting on the soft plush chair in the fully air-conditioned lobby, I was the last person in the line of ladies waiting to be interviewed. Lately, Marco was always on the run, either sorting something out, or barking into his phone, or cussing out and drowning bottles of expensive liquors. When he left this morning with Lorenzo, while they ranted about some missing funds, I left home, not to escape, but to job hunt. ‘Make do with your magic.’ Lady Lucia's vague words came harder. I wasn't sure what she meant, but I was here anyway to find out. “Martha,” the receptionist's voice sounded. “This way, please.” One by one, the ladies and gentlemen that came to for the same job placement, were called to be interviewed. Even though I dropped out of my school and the course my parents had pioneered, I took online classes and had qualifications on account and finances. Hopefully, th
Marco's POV “Elara, drop the knife…”“Stay away from me.” She thrust the sharp blade forward. “I'm serious.”Her voice was shaky. Just like her hands. Fear, anxiety, pain… I fed off them, but this ripped my heart, pulled the soft muscles, and pricked my skin. “Listen to me…”“Marco.” She warned, breathing labored each second. “I'm warning you.”Eyes not on the weapon, but on her, holding her gaze carefully, silently whispering words to her. Now, I was at the base of the stairs, a few inches away from her. She staggered backward, clutching the weapon in both hands. “Let's not do this, Elara.” I muffled, replacing her steps with mine. “God.” She groaned, hitting the edge of a couch. That was it, she didn't move again. Now, I was more careful. “Put down the weapon.” I gently ordered. “Elara…”I reached for her hand, but she shoved the knife forward, plunging the tip into my palm. I groaned but didn't pull away. Instead, I let the blade sear deep into my palm, tearing down my s
Marco's POV ‘Time's up, bitches!’ “You. You. You.”I pointed at Ramson's staff, one at a time, my eyes as red as a wounded bull, fingers almost sticking in their faces, and my voice deep with a thick slice of poison. “No more going through his galleries. Stick to his call logs.”They gulped dryly in fear and nodded, eyes pinned to my fierce statue. “And if any fucking photo leaks…” I let out a dark chuckle. “There'd be no pieces of your body left to bury. Not even your loved ones will be spared.”Again, they nodded firmly, too terrified to say a word in argument or defense. With that, I turned to leave, nurturing the darkest thoughts for Kaid. I'd peel his sacs like onions and dice his testicle. The fuck he was playing with?! “Mr. Conti.” Ramson rushed behind me. When I stopped, he almost bumped into me. My stern face was all that he needed to speak. I barely had any time left to mess around. “Uh…” He pushed his lens back to his eyes. “I think that it's a bad idea to go now.
Elara's POV ‘For Marco to be away from you… Hate you… Break off the deal - Isn't that what you've always wanted, Elara?’The tiny voice in my head questioned its tone was a mix of mockery and reality. Without denial, that was exactly what I hoped for, wished for, and prayed for. I wanted to be away from him for my peace of mind, for Violet. Except now, it only felt wrong. It felt like I had been charged with life imprisonment like I was trapping myself in a box and shutting it out of the world. Marco, the supposedly black demon, was my light, the brightest after Violet. He'd shown me what true love and obsession meant, what it felt like to be loved by a king of his kind. Maybe quite psychopathic, but genuine… or too dominant, but what if I wouldn't want to be loved any other way? “Damn it.”I sighed and fell flat on the bed, tired of the dozens of thoughts going through my mind at a go. The few days he'd recoiled to his shell, treated me like nothing other than an object for
Chapter Fifty-five: A Slice Of Your SecretMarco's POV ‘Can we meet by noon? I have something that might interest you. - Ramson.’Reading through Ramson's text, I typed a response right away and sent it, demanding his address. It's almost been ages since we last met. In less than a minute, my phone chimed with the details bold on my screen. Noted. Locking my phone and setting it down, I picked up my cutlery and resumed chopping through the pan-seared chicken breast with sprinkles of mayonnaise and honey as sauce. Kaid was beside me, standing off my personal space, hands crossed per usual, and face as straight as my ass. It was almost thirty minutes past breakfast and Elara was yet to show up at the table. After Madre's passing, it's been barely two weeks since we revived the tradition of eating as a family at the table. “Lady Elara is coming right away, Don.” Francesca gave a curt bow and moved to dish out a sizeable portion of everything on the table for her. Lazy footsteps
Marco's POV ‘One bastard down. One more to go.’Lounging on the couch, I dragged on my cigar and puffed, dispensing my thick smoke in the air-conditioned room, as it formed a white cloud above me. Kaid slightly bowed after delivering the old news, and stepped aside, taking camp behind the couch. The moment I focused more on Lucas and my cousin, I noticed the slight detachment on Kaid's end. His sudden out-of-sight mode, busy calls in the guise of work… He was next. And fuck it, if he was in with Sofia, he'd kill himself with his weapon, and his fucked-up soul would never forgive him in hell.I gulped down what was left of the shot and signaled for him to pour another, only thrusting a finger up. “Si, Don.” He poured a shot and stepped aside, hands crossed in front of him. His phone buzzed in his breast pocket. He pulled it out to see who the caller was, stopped the vibration, and slipped it back in.My eyes caught the small frown that lurked around his lips, and his narrowed ga
Marco's POV Again, Elara disobeyed me… As if the last punishment wasn't enough, she has sinned. Perched to the door frame and going undetected, I watched her banging body wrapped in thick hilarious clothes as she shifted on her feet, nervous. She pressed the phone to her ear and played the voice message in low volume. ‘Lily, I think Matthew is missing… Call me whenever you get this.’Her suddenly trembling hand tried to dial the number. To be certain that she was alone, she turned to confirm it, only to be faced with my hard figure. Shocked, she jerked, causing the phone to almost slip off her slippery hold. Like I was a child, she hid her hands behind her back. Even her three-year-old was smarter. “The phone.” I pulled my hand out, my demand was direct and fierce. Still, she tried to be adamant. It was the same reason we got here - her stubbornness.“Give it now.” Slowly, she walked towards me, her big eyes widened, eyelashes flickered. She looked pitiful, maybe broken. Not
Elara's POV Black - the color of my broken heart. Red - that of my aching pussy. Blue - my body's bleeding demand for a release. And in all of this confusion, I was warned by the one who controlled me like a toy in some cupboard or perhaps a freaking light switch. Oh, god. I could still feel my pussy vibrating between my thighs, spitting slimy precum, needing the slightest attention. My hands twitched, desperate to defile his warning. ‘How would he know, Elara? He wouldn't the heck!......Just touch yourself already!’My mind was about to split with conflicting idea. Coming to a resolve, I adjusted in bed, settling on my elbow. Bending down to look at my body, there were visible marks of his penetration. One… two… three… seven. The last two were faint- tempting me to replace them and he wouldn't find out. Sighing lazily, I took a gentle spin, and leaned forward to pick up the hand mirror. Putting it right between my legs, I counted again. Seven and a half… eight? Argh!I sp
Marco's POV Driving home with a fucking boner, all that went through my head were the wild positions to put Elara. I had been too lenient. Softened up to her fragility, and she took it for granted. Turned around and mocked me in the fucking face. She deserved good spanking, harder than that bitch. “Soon, man, soon.”I moaned through gritted teeth and subtly massaged my hard cock with one hand, and the other on the wheel gripper. On arrival,Kaid was with the rest of the soldati, waiting for me as usual. Lately, I've been distant. If I needed to trail his fuckong movement, I needed him close, like a brother. I sneered and pulled the car to a halt. Turning off the engine, I tossed the key to Kaid, putting my plans in motion. He dove for it, surprise written on his face, then he masked it, and walked closer to park the car in the garage, while I went upstairs in silence. The mansion was quiet, awfully quiet. I blame myself. If only I hadn't brought in the devil's magnet, and som
Marco's POV ‘That little bastard.’ Standing high on the lounge's terrace, I watched the little drama between Elara and the silly moron. A man dumb enough to go for someone else's property, with a full blown mark on her body. And definitely a man with a death wish. I had so much to worry about and Elara just decided to add to it in her loving wish. For a minute, I could swear on my balls that I thought we had something going on…The total surrender, need to be cuddled… such a fucking ass pretender. Her heart was more plastic than the whole ass and boobs of fake city baddies combined. When she left with Alma, I followed from afar. It wasn't hard considering I always have trackers on my car. Just when I was starting to feel bad for letting her miss the funeral, boom, her short ass dude appeared. He must be so special for her to carry her baby out of the house without caring to bath her. Again, I followed them to this… cheap outlet. The only good thing about this place was that
