Asher got up from his chair and walked towards the window a hundred times. It was almost 11 and she hadn't come home yet. Once bustling street had now become almost deserted with only a few cars in sight. She had called him earlier to inform him that she would come late as today was one of her colleague's birthdays. Asher had offered to pick her up but she had refused saying her friend, Luna would drop her off. He didn't know she was talking about this late. As the minutes ticked by, his irritation grew. Suddenly, a black SUV turned the corner and slowed to a smooth halt right before their apartment. The passenger door opened not a moment late and Serena climbed out wearing a bright smile, causing him to frown. She closed the door and leaned on the window.
