Always on Jeanne's side

I had been listening to my sister for almost an hour as she told me about her life with the Clark couple. I already knew that our father was a policeman who was killed in a shootout between two rival gangs, so I found out that after his death, my mother who was pregnant with me started her descent to hell.

She no longer slept and refused to eat, crying all day at the loss of our father. The neighbors helped us with food while we survived on the pension my father left behind. But according to Jeanne, my father's crooked superiors quickly cut off all pensions in defiance of our precarious situation.

Our mother was in a very fragile state, she was the one who took care of everything at home, cleaning, laundry, and cooking, not to mention that she had to take care of our mother, forcing her to feed herself for my good.
