Chapter Fifty Eight

"You've been quiet." Saira remarked, staring at her husband who was busy on his phone. "And you've been on your phone since you walked in."

"I'm sorry." He apologized, finally looking up from his phone. "Are you okay?"

"No." She frowned.

"What do you need?"

"I need you to stop acting like my being here means I'm dying or something." She snapped.

"What?" He stared blankly at her.

"Both of our mothers and even Eugene have been giving me that look! That one!" She pointed a finger at his face. "Stop it."

"You're not dying, Saira and we were not giving you any kind of look." He said. "It's all in your head."

"Really? I made a joke yesterday and no one laughed."

"We didn't laugh because it wasn't funny." He told her. "You made a joke about looking like death, sweetheart. What was there to laugh about?"

"But still!" She huffed.

"Watch TV." He reached for the remote on her bedside table and turned on the TV. "What do you want to watch?" He asked her.
