Chapter 5

I was so scared, and also wondering where they were taking me and the other girls to. I know I will be punished for starting the fire, but my fear was which punishment will I be given.

Then again I remembered Camille. I hope she is fine, I don't want her to be caught by these wicked people,but how will she survive without me? We have never been apart from each other.

I just hope she gets to a safe place. I was so lost in my thoughts when someone hit me hard.

"Get down" one of the men said angrily, ``I came down slowly because I was so weak, "walk faster or I will wipe you" he said again with his deep voice.

He pushed me not minding if I was weak, I fell down and stopped immediately so he won't flog me.

The girls and I were putten in prison for trying to escape, what are they going to do to us? I asked myself. I was hoping they would show us mercy.

It was already dark. I watched the other girls sleep, I was in unable to sleep because I was thinking of Camille and also the punishment I would be given.

The next morning I woke up because I was hearing noise, I stood up shocked. One of the guards in charge of the prison opened the prison door.

"Wake up" he said to me and the girls, he looks so scary.

I stood up so weak, we were taken to a room, they asked a few questions about the fire. I was so scared but did not show my feelings.

They girls refuse to tell them I was the one who started the fire," why don't you tell the truth? I asked confused, "you did everything for our sake, it is not your fault we were caught " the girl replied with a smile. "Thank you" I said with a very low tone.

We were taken back to the prison. We will be taken to the alpha tomorrow because we refused to say the truth.

I wondered what he looks like, maybe he will be nice and forgive us.

After some minutes they brought a girl inside, it seems like they were from the pack, she commited a crime.

She bent her head and was crying. I decided to ask what the problem was. "Why are you crying?" I asked curiously, she raised her head but she did not reply.

She finally stopped crying "are you from this pack?" she asked, "no I replied" I replied, "what are you doing here?" She asked again.

"I was sold to the Alpha, we tried to escape but we were caught? I answered her. "Why did they lock you up?" I asked curiously.

"I stole From the palace?" she and lowered her head, she was embarresed. "I did not mean to steal, my mother was sick and I had no money?" She said as she raised her head up.

"Did you tell the alpha? I asked, she laughed then looked at me"The alpha is very ruthless and does not care about anyone's feeling" she said in an angry tone.

Fear creeped me, "what will he do to me?" I asked myself, if he could treat someone from his pack like this, the what will he do to me and this girls.

She girl told me more evil things about the Alpha, I was becoming more scared.

The next day the guard came to wake us up. I opened my eyes, woke the girls, the guard opened the door and tzey went outside.

The sun was shining on he face she used her hand to protect he face from the he sun.

Where are they taking us to? I asked the girl, "to the alpha" she replied.

The palace was so big and beautiful, it made me remember how our palace was. We passed the garden it was so beautiful, their pack was so beautiful, I said to myself.

I was looking round and admiring the pack forgetting the punishment I will get. Now I know there is no way the alpha was going to spare our life, I was just waiting for my fate.

The guard was leading us I was getting tired," when are we going to get there?"I asked the girl, "very soon" she replied.

She looked at me with surprise,"are you tired?" She asked, I looked at her " yes" I replied.

"You don't know the punishment you will receive and you are already tired" the girl said, I just smiled.

If only she knew I have suffered alot and nothing can me scared except death, I sighed. I was only pitying the other girls who were with me.

Finally we got there, the Alpha was sitting on his throne. "Kneel down" the guard said to us. We knelt down, my kneel was aching but I had no choice.

I bent our head and greeted the Alpha.

I raised my head up to see a how the Alpha looks like, I thought he will look like a monster because of all the horrible things I heard about.

But I was wrong I saw the opposite of what I was thinking, he was tall and handsome he has a dark eyes. His body was well built and there was different tattoo on his body. His dark hair was shining.

How can I guy be this handsome? I asked myself.

Suddenly he turned and looked at me, I realized I was not supposed to be looking at him, I bent my head quickly.

He pointed "you stand up" the Alpha said, I was shocked I raised my head slowly and stood up. Did he see me looking at him? I said to myself.

"Come here" the alpha said, his voice was deep but very nice to hear, i went closer to him.

"What is your name?" The alpha said, "I'm amber" I said bending my head, my heart was beating fast.

"Look up" the alpha said, I raised my head up slowly.

I was so lost in is eyes, he was even more handsome when I went closer. I felt connected to him in way I don't understand.

I controled myself when I noticed I was looking at him to much. "what is wrong me" I asked myself.

"Which of you started the fire?" The alpha asked, he stood up from is seat he was coming closer to me, like he knows I was the one who started the fire.

The Alpha looked at me from my head to my toe and chuckled. I was scared I thought the Alpha was going to do something stupid to me.

The experience I had with my mate was still in my head and it made me traumatized.

"You were trying to escape don't you know the consequences of your action?" The alpha said looking at me. I did not know what to reply so I kept quiet.

The alpha walked back to his seat, I was so relieved when I saw the Alpha going back to his seat.

The Alpha turned and looked at the maid who stole from the Palace.

"Take her outside and flog her fifty times" the alpha said.

"Please your highness show mercy" the said, she was crying.

"Why is the Alpha so cruel? He is no difference from alpha Caleb I said to myself, I was so angry but there was nothing I could do she was guilty. The alpha should have pitied her she did it because her mother was sick.

He looked at me again fear gripped me, was he reading my mind? I asked myself.

"Since none of you won't say, take them also and flog till they say the truth" the alpha said. The Alpha signal them and the guards came to carry us.

I looked at the other girls who were with me, they were still little children and should be the same age with Camille. They were crying.

This is wrong they did not do anything so why will they be punished I said to myself, they are to young to receive this kind of punishment.

"Wait" I shouted the guard stopped, "what his you problem?" One of the guard asked, "I want to speak to the Alpha" I replied, I don't know where the courage came from but I have to do this because of this girls.

The guard refused and pushed me when I heard the Alpha voice.

"Allow her" the alpha said, the guard left my hand and I fell down but stood up immediately, the girls were looking at me. "What are you trying to do?" One of the girls asked.

I did not reply I went to meet the Alpha.

"How can I help you?" The Alpha asked, "I will take the punishment" I said with my voice shaking.

"Why" the Alpha asked, I was so scared to reply him but I have to do this for the sake of the girls. I turned back and looked at the girls they were all shaking their head telling me not to talk.

"I…. Amber hesitated to talk.
