DANTE'S POV
I dragged myself out of bed, still feeling the effects of a late night with Olivia. But I knew I had to be sharp and alert for this emergency meeting called by dad. I quickly showered and dressed, grabbing a cup of coffee on my way to the conference room.
As I entered, I saw the entire staff of Addams Corporation already seated and waiting. Dad stood at the front, his expression serious. "Good morning, everyone," he began. "I appreciate you all coming in early on short notice. I'm sure you're all aware of the recent investigation by the IRS. I want to assure you that we are taking this matter very seriously and are fully cooperating with the authorities."
He paused, surveying the room.
"I want to explain the situation
LANDON'S POVI sat at the bar, nursing a drink and lost in thought. I came to The Barnes at least three times a week, it was my go-to spot to unwind after a long day. I kept coming even when Olivia was back at school and definitely try to come around now that she was back. As I gazed into my glass, I heard the door swing open and a familiar voice called out to the young bartender.I turned to see Alex walking towards the bar, his eyes scanning the room until they landed on me. A look of surprise crossed his face, and he changed direction, making his way towards me instead of the end of the bar."Landon! I didn't know you came here," Alex said, taking a seat next to me.I raised an eyebrow, intrigued by his surprise.
ALEX'S POVAs I sat in that cold cell, I was surrounded by the stench of sweat and desperation. The guy next to me, a burly man with a thick beard, kept trying to strike up a conversation."Hey, what's your story, friend?" he asked, eyeing me with a mixture of curiosity and suspicion.I've been wrongly accused and imprisoned, torn away from my loved ones and forced to endure the harsh realities of life behind bars.It was hard to want to relate with others.I shrugged, not wanting to get into it. "Just a mistake, man. I didn't do what they say I did."He chuckled, a deep rumble that made me want to roll my eyes.
DANTE'S POVI sat at my desk, staring at the stack of papers in front of me. Landon was pacing back and forth across the office, his mind racing with thoughts."We need to do something, Dante," he said, stopping in front of my desk. "We can't just sit here and do nothing."I nodded in agreement. "I know. But what can we do? We've hit a dead end."Landon sighed. "We need to involve the police. It's the only way we can clear Alex's name and catch the real culprit."I nodded, knowing he was right. "Let's go talk to Rhonda first. See what she thinks."Landon nodded, and we headed out of the offic
LINDA'S POVI sat in the prison visitation room, trying to make small talk with my parents. My dad was being his usual jovial self, but my mom seemed off."Hey, kiddo, how's life behind bars?" my dad asked, chuckling.I laughed. "It's not so bad. I've got my books and my thoughts."My mom sighed. "Linda, this isn't funny. You're in prison."I rolled my eyes. "Come on, Mom. Don't be so serious. I'm fine."My dad jumped in, trying to lighten the mood. "Hey, at least the Addams family is getting a taste of their own medicine. I mean, who would have thought that Alex Addams would end up in prison
RHONDA'S POVI walked into the living room, where Olivia was sitting on the couch, staring blankly at the TV. My mind immediately flashed back to what I had seen and the suspicion I had been having.I couldn't help but think back to when we first moved into this house. Olivia had seen Dante's picture on the mantle and had blushed, telling me that he was her crush in high school. I had thought nothing of it at the time, assuming it was just a harmless teenage infatuation. But now, seeing the way Olivia and Dante interacted, I couldn't help but wonder if there was more to it. I didn't want to believe it, though. They were step-siblings, after all. It was unlikely that they would develop romantic feelings for each other
KENOLLY’S POVI was about to make my escape, my bags packed and ready by the door. I had been watching the news, and I knew the police were closing in on me. I had to get out, and fast.Just as I was about to leave, I heard the bang on the door. My heart skipped a beat as I realized it was the police. I didn't hesitate, I jumped out the window and landed hard on the ground below. But unfortunately, there was an officer down, waiting to ambush me. He had anticipated my move and was ready for me.I fought him off and I took off, my heart was racing with fear. I could hear the police shouting behind me, but I didn't look back. I kept running, my legs pumping as fast as they could. I darted down a busy street, weaving in and out of pedestrians. Some of them shouted a
DANTE'S POVI was about to leave the police station, feeling overwhelmed and frustrated. Kenolly's refusal to speak had left me seething with anger. I couldn't believe he was being backed up by someone, though I wondered who. I needed to take a break, from the asshole and his smirk. As I reached the door, I saw a familiar face walking in. It was Jill, Linda's mother. My ex-girlfriend's mother. I hadn't seen her in months, not since the trial. But now, here she was. And I was still reeling from Kenolly's interrogation. I felt like I was being punched from all sides, like I couldn't catch a break.I stopped in my tracks, my anger boiling over. What was she doing here? Did she know something about Kenolly? Was she invo
UNKNOWN POVDetective James observed Kenolly's demeanor change from arrogance to desperation, his confident smile slowly slipping away as the hours ticked by. It had been eight hours since their last interrogation, which had led to nothing. He had been boasting about his high-powered law firm, Smith and Associates, but it seemed like he had been abandoned, left to fend for himself. As the detective watched from the one-way mirror, Kenolly's eyes began to dart back and forth, his mind racing with the consequences of speaking out. He knew that if he cooperated with the police, he would be a dead man in prison, targeted by John's henchmen. His only option was to accept the charges and take the fall for John's crimes, but the weight of that decision was crushing him.Kenolly's t
