I sat at the bar, sipping my drink and feeling miserable. I had been thinking about Dante nonstop since our one night stand. I couldn't believe I had messed up again.
"Alicia, I'm such an idiot," I said, turning to my friend. "I keep giving Dante mixed signals, and now he thinks I'm just a one night stand."
Alicia put a hand on my arm. "Liv, don't be so hard on yourself. You're just scared."
I shook my head. "I'm not scared, I'm just stupid. I keep pushing him away, and now he's gone."
