AT THE DORM

“I watched as he beat up all the gangsters in one touch like a Hero in an action movie. After that, he helped me enter into his car and he even carried me in his “  Yan narrated to April who was just nodding, taking a bite off her burger

“I was starting to think he was a gentleman when he….. .

“He asked me to marry him, just like that” Yan added and April sprang up from the chair.

“He asked you to marry him? “She asked, her eyes widened like she’ve seen a horror scene.

“ Was he trying to take advantage of you? “ She asked again

“You know me well by now, I didn’t bother wasting my time with him. I gave him a hard punch on the stomach and ran away, leaving him stunned” Yan said with so much confidence.

“ You’ve done that right babe” April backed her up.

A knock came on the door, startling the both of them and Yan headed to open it.

On opening the door, she saw a huge bouquet of flower before her and he eyes widened.

“ Miss Yan, this is for you, from Mr. Liu” The delivery guy said and placed it on the ground.

Yan’s mouth dropped open as she stares at the bouquet.

April came to the door.

“Holy mother of Jesus, is this a bouquet?” April exclaimed and Yan just stared at her blankly, blinking repeatedly.

“ Have you sent the flowers?” Steven asked.

“ The flowers have been sent and received” Ethan replied.

“ So what’s next?” Steven asked

“ Well Mr. Liu, am gonna tell you steps your gonna take to impress a lady..” Ethan said.

    STEP ONE

“Females are pickier in foods than males, they love it a lot which is why it would be really thoughtful of you if you send her lots of food stuffs” Ethan explained.

Yan was coming back from a little shopping she did and was about entering the dorm when two able bodied men approached her, both with a carriage.

“ Hi Miss Yan, Mr Liu has prepared this carriage of food stuffs especially for you and there are more in your room” One of them said and Yan’s eyes widened.

She rushed to her room and her eyes almost popped out.

Different kinds of food stuffs enough to feed an entire community well packed and arranged

   She headed to her almost empty fridge and it was loaded   with food stuffs.

“Curses” She muttered.

      STEP TWO

“ When a lady is been protected, oxytocin which is know as Love stimulant is produced. So if you take very good care of her, she won’t help but fall madly in love with you” Ethan explained to Steven who was paying rapt attention to him.

Yan was coming back from work when it suddenly started raining.

The rain was pouring heavily on her as she looked for where to run to for shelter.

Just when she was about giving up, she saw the shadow of something covering her, making her look up.

She saw an umbrella above her head and a man standing and holding it for her.

“ Hi Miss Yan, Mr. Liu instructed me to hold the umbrella for you” The man said.

“ He also said I should drive you home safely” The man added and gestured Yan to the car before them.

Seeing how the rain was pouring heavily, Yan hade no other option, so she agreed to go with the man.

The next day,the whether was perfect, there was no rain neither was the sun scourging.

Yan stepped out from school and the same man from yesterday covered her with an umbrella.

She groaned silently and turned to the man.

“ It’s not raining today, is it necessary for you to follow me today?” Yan asked.

“ Mr Liu instructed me to do so everyday” The man replied.

“ Everyday?” Yan exclaimed.

“ Listen, go tell that Mr. Liu of yours that I don’t need any bodyguard to follow me around” Yan snapped and left.

The man followed her, still holding the umbrella.

Yan ignored him and increased her pace but the man still followed her.

She groaned angrily and stopped.

“ Can you stop following me?” She snapped.

A car halted before them immediately and a guard stepped out.

He opened the door of the car and gestured her to enter inside and Yan just stared at him blankly.

          STEP THREE

“ If the silent treatment doesn’t work, then you make a grand one. You see, ladies find it hard to oppose a man when all eyes are on her, if you know what I mean” Ethan said and Steven was already rubbing his jaw pondering on what Ethan said.

Yan was busy sketching the proposal she was given when a message popped on her phone.

She grabbed it and clicked on the message, which reads;

“ There’s a request to arrange a proposal at the University by 8pm  tonight, I was thinking you’ll be interested”

Yan beamed on reading the message.

She texted back;

“ Of course, am interested, just send me the details and I’ll get it done immediately”

“ Ok, here are the details”  Another message popped.

Yan screamed and hugged her phone in excitement.

“Am gonna make so much money from this” She beamed.

Yan Yunqi as already decorating the garden for the so called proposal.

The decorations was amazing.

You could clearly see at the middle of the garden, decorated with flowers in the shape of a heart with candles placed all around it.

It was really an amazing site to see.

She was already lighting the candles when she heard footsteps approaching.

The more she light the candles, the closer the footstep gets, until it stops.

“ Hmm. Looks great”  A deep muscular voice said and she stopped what she was doing.

Thinking it was the man who requested for the decoration, she stood on her foot, a smile on her face.

“ Hi sir, the service fee is…….” She turned but on seeing who it was , her eyes widened and her smile vanished.

“You!” She exclaimed and Steven had to cover his ears to prevent his eardrums from bursting.

“Were….you the one who requested for the decoration” Yan asked.

“What are you trying to do?!”She snapped and Steven flinch back a bit.

He stared at the small box in his and opened it.

He portrayed it before Yan, looking away.

“ Marry me” He said, his face expressionless.

       Yan stared blankly at the ring and her lips parted.

“ This ring is really beautiful and expensive. I’ll become a millionaire overnight if I lay my hands on it” She thought and swallowed nothing.

Steven waved the box before her but she just at the ring without moving an inch.

Steven approached closer slowly while Yan stepped back, her eyes still glued to the ring.

She didn’t even realize when she stepped on something and immediately, fireworks flew to air from all angles.

The fireworks busted in the sky forming the shape of a heart.

Not long, people gathered.

“ Wow, it’s a proposal” They exclaimed.

“ It’s beautiful”

“ Say yes, say yes, say yes..”  They chanted.

A smirk formed on Steven’s lips but it vanished on seeing that Yan was still staring at the ring.

He took her left hand and was about inserting the ring into her middle finger.

Yan snapped out of her thoughts and fling his hand off.

“ What are you trying to do?” She asked.

“ Marry me” Steven replied immediately.

“ You must be crazy thinking I’ll accept your proposal” Yan snapped.

Steven looked at his wrist watch.

“ I’m giving you 5 sec to change your mind, starting from……now” He said, making Yan scoff.

“ Your time is up, what have you decided?” Steven asked.

Yan folded her arms together and forced a smile on her lips.

“ My answer is….no…..no…..no…and no” She snapped.

“ Listen young lady, I don’t have all the time in the world to repeat myself but am still not changing what I said earlier” Steven said.

“ Neither do I have your time” Yan snapped and was about leaving but Steven grabbed her wrist and pulled to himself.

Yan swallowed hard staring into his golden eyes and she could feel her heart beating faster than usual.

A devilish smirk formed on Steven’s face.

A smirk to show that’s he’s having the upper hand.

A smirk because he love the effect he’s having on her.

Yan saw the smirk plastered on his face and her face squeezed up.

She forcefully stumped on Steven’s foot and Steven pressed his lips together to prevent him from yelling in pain.

Yan huffed and turned, leaving.

“ Oh my, did she just turn him down?”

“He’s too handsome, how can she turn him down?”

“ She’s really stupid you know”

Yan stopped on her track and headed back to the where Steven was.

“ Don’t misunderstand, the service fee of the decoration is RMB5000………..

“ I already paid it into your account. You can as well change your mind” Steven said.

Yan brought out her phone and a smile creep up on her lips but it quickly vanished when she looked up.

“ Never” She snapped and left…………..
