CHAPTER 5: DEAL WITH THE DEVIL

The next day Liyla didn't see Daven, probably he would be on some other bus because today she is going early.

During lunch time they went to the canteen as usual to eat. Kate was acting strange and Liyla felt the urge to ask her what was wrong with her because she herself awaits the right moment to tell her about what happened yesterday.

"Kate is there something you would like to tell me?." Liyla asked

"mmm...uhh...no! I mean yes, i ummm..." Kate kept stumbling on her words

"Kate come on just tell me!, it can't be that bad or is it?." Liyla persisted

"(sighs) Okay!. The thing is that i would be transferring to another school soon and it's so hard to tell you." Kate said gnashing her teeth

"What!, When would that be?" Liyla asked with worry in her eyes.

"Next week, I have been meaning to tell you but i just didn't know how. I'm so sorry please forgive me. I'm sorry Liyla." Kate pleaded.

Kate knew it would be hard for Liyla to process the news since both of them are very close but she just had to tell her. Liyla sighed as droplets of tears threatens to fall

"So you would be leaving next week?." Liyla asked in a low tone

"Yes by Sunday. please I'm sorry for not telling you." Kate said

"It's okay, just that I will miss you so much my friend." Liyla smiled

This time around Liyla couldn't hold back as tears creeped down her cheek. Instinctively Kate stood up and went in for a hug. The two besties hugged each other and couldn't stop whining about how they would miss each other.

"I will miss you more Liyla, you can't imagine how bad I felt hiding it from you, I'm sorry! and you will always be my best friend." Kate reassured her with a smile.

The day went by but Liyla didn't see Daven through out that day in school which is very strange, she thought of calling him on phone but discarded the thought thinking it would be as if she is desperate after what happened yesterday. Well she and Kate went shopping after school and spent quality time with each other since she would be leaving soon, Kate even went as far as sleeping over at Liyla's house.

When Asleep Liyla saw thesame dream reoccurring and she woke up panting heavily, good thing she did not wake Kate up from sleep. In her dream something was different, someone kept saying "you are running out of time" but she couldn't see the face, the terrifying voice doesn't sound like a human being

In the morning they both made breakfast, eat together and prepared for school. Still no sign of Daven in school and it's getting weird, Liyla wondered if he is sick or something but she decides not to call him.

It's weekend, Kate takes Liyla on a treat to the park, thesame park where the death of her parents was revealed to her. It reminded her of the pain again. Though Kate has no idea of it and Liyla has no plan of telling her either.

The next day Liyla escorted Kate and her mother to the airport. She still wanted to tell her about her nightmares and how she and Daven kissed but she is scared of what Kate would think so she just decided to let it go. After all she is not used to it but she doesn't like keeping things from Kate

"I love you so so much!, and i wish I didn't have to go." Kate said with a frown on her face

"Silly you!, how would you say such a thing. Paris is a beautiful place. I just wish I could visit sometime." Liyla said

"You have to visit Liyla, if not I will come drag you myself" Kate teased her friend.

They both got emotional and hugged each other with teary eyes and promised to always keep in touch.

"Promise me you would be okay?." Kate smiled

"I will be fine Kate. I promise." Liyla replied

"Take good care of yourself Liyla."

"I will. Don't forget to call me when you arrive Paris."

"Kate is time to go" Kate's mother said from behind. "take care of yourself Liyla."

"Thank you Mrs Kelvin, have a safe trip." Liyla stood there waving untill they were out of sight.

For days now Daven has been absent from school which made Liyla sad because she kind of missed his sense of humor and his friendship. It seems she is the only one who doesn't know what's going on

"Is he avoiding me?...Did i do something wrong?...Is it because of what happened yesterday?. Come on Liyla stop talking nonsense (sighs) Just breathe." Liyla stood all by herself in the restroom questioning her reflection in the mirror. After some minutes she decides to go ask Mrs Haywood instead. When she did, the most unbelievable shocking news was revealed to her

"Liyla don't tell me you haven't heard what happened to Daven." Mrs Haywood said, surprised

Liyla became restless, her heart beat unstable as fear grips her. "No!...no i don't know. Did something bad happen to him?. Is it an accident?." Liyla asked with a Shakey voice.

Mrs Haywood takes of her glasses and closed the file she was looking into before speaking. "He got arrested for drug pushing and Sexual harassment of a student. (sighs) I was shocked to this revelation myself." Mrs Haywood explained

"What!. This can't be true...Daven is not that kind of person ma'am." Liyla protested

"Liyla it's the truth. They cought him moving around with hard drugs in his bag, plus he tried raping a student. I never knew he could do such... I mean if someone told me a student like Daven would do such, i would not believe it but i saw it with my own eyes Liyla."

"Rape!?. Who is this student ma'am?." Liyla asked

"(Sighs) Liyla if you must know, It's Maddy Jones. Now if you would excuse me, i have work to do."

Liyla could not believe it, she just trust Daven wouldn't do something like that and Maddy planned everything. Now her world is crumbling with Kate gone and Daven in jail.

Maddy has taken everything away from her in a twinkle of an eye. The only people that she could call friends are no more, the pain shattered her heart just like that day her parents were buried. And now she has to go through thesame pain of loosing loved ones.

Liyla ran as fast as she could until her feets could move no more. She falls to her knees under a tree in a garden along the road and cried out in agonizing pain, she doesn't care about the world right now because for her the world is wicked, cruel, deceitful and full of misery.

All she wanted is for someone to love her genuinely and when she found that person it didn't last all because of Maddy. Liyla's mind is clouded with grief, now she wants revenge both for those who killed her parents and everyone who ever hurt her. They all need to feel thesame pain.

WAILERS DISTRICT. (8:24Pm)

He looked up at the inscription on the walls "Wailers district" before walking into the gigantic manor.

This building looks as if it's been abandoned for a thousand years from outside but on the inside it's a breath taking view. The pillars are made of fine marbles and the interior decorations made of gold.

Many knows the Wailers as a prestigious organization owned by Matt Wailer but his wealth is a secret because he runs an underground illegal drug mercenary which makes him rich and powerful. He has many politicians and Government officials backing him to move drugs smoothly from one place to another without interference of the authorities.

Matt is sitting on a huge chair made of gold and diamonds drinking wine with two bouncers standing at each side. "What news do you bring to me this time Nicky?...it better be a good one this time." Matt said

"Forgive me Master, i have nothing yet but i brought someone with me who can help us take down Dante once and for all" Nicky replied

"It better be as you have said. I made you my superior executer so i expect more from you." Matt husky voice filled the air

"Yes master. I won't fail you this time." Nicky replied

"Good, now who do we have here." Matt smirked

Liyla came home looking pale. Ever since she heard the Shocking news of Daven's arrest, it downed on her like a paralysis and broke her mind.

She went to bed without eating anything even though her stomach kept rumbling she ignored it completely. Staring up at the ceiling in thought, Liyla dozed off.

At midnight the windows kept making squeaky noises and the curtains flew open. The cold wind brushed her face and she squeezed in on her blanket...suddenly her mind was like taken around the world...she could see everything.

"Liyla!, how long are you going to let them keep hurting you.Your purpose is to avenge your parent's death...inflict pain on those who cause you pain...Rule the world with me and you would never know pain again...Just say the word! let me in and i would make them vanish!!!." A calm but odd voice whispered in her ears like a moving wind

Liyla is still asleep but she somehow connected with the voice. Her true desire for revenge has made her cross the bridge withholding the demon and now it's all she wants right now that this strange voice offered to her in a platter of gold.

She finds herself smiling and replied "Yes i accept. I want to make them all pay!. Please help me." Liyla whispered

"Your wish is granted!...now you have all it takes to make the world burn!...no one would ever hurt you again...YOU ARE INVISIBLE!. hahahaha...hahaha...hah!!!."

The voice fades away and Liyla woke up panting and sweating. At first she thought it was a nightmare as usual but this one felt real. She got out of bed and rushed to her mirror checking her face, nothing seems to be different but as she touched the mirror all the bad memories flooded her mind again...pain...death...frustration.

The anger hit her hard as she unconsciously squeezed her hand into a fist then...(cracking sounds) the mirror shattered into a million pieces without her applying any pressure.

In shock Liyla falls to the ground, the particles of the mirror had cut through her flesh earlier and as she looks at it the whole wound disappeared with no trace.

"Oh...my...God. What tha!!!!."
