Chapter Five

The next day was hectic. We were woken up by a very huge bell, we wore our sweat pants and went out to the field for morning exercise by 5:00am. With my sleepy eyes, I almost fell on my way to the field, Yuvonne is an early waker so she had no problem with that instead, she made fun of me.

" Hehe, girl I almost forgot you are a log, don't worry, I will catch you if you fall" 

" They could have allowed us to atleast wash our fucking mouth or even face" I said after I checked my breath, damn it was bad.

"Welcome to Marshalls love" 

She mocked as she held me and we walked to the field to join the others. Bull, Julius Arms was already at the field with his deputy as they guided our exercise routine. During our resting time, a girl walked up to us with a paper. She was putting on a double lensed eyes aid, it made her look like a nerd but she was gorgeous by the way.

" Hola!, you are the occupants of uhmm room 101?"

"Right" I answered drinking from my flask not looking away from her.

"Is there something we can help you with honey?" Yuvonne chipped in

"Yes dear, which of you is Helion Mary?" She asked adjusting her glasses.

I looked over at Yuvonne who also had no clue why she was asking. Then I turned to answer her;

" I am Helion Mary, Is there a problem?"

 

"Not at all, My name is Null, Sylver Waters and I have been assigned to you as a partner. We are under the black beret, the vantas, nice to meet you mate."

She held out her hand for a handshake which I took relentlessly.

"So, Which is your surname, Waters or Sylver?"

I asked lacing my boots and looking over at her

"Waters of course" She replied, raising her brow.

"Well, next time, You should say your last name before yours when you want to add a beret or title to it" Yuvonne corrected her.

"Sylver Waters. Hmm, sounds like Mercury?" I implied looking at Yuvonne as 

We all laughed. 

" Seems you have been baptized the second time. Mercury" Yuvonne said. Yuvonne can be goofy as fuck sometimes, but this time she was right. I stood up to go with her and Yuvonne left to look for her partner too.

Walking towards the Hall with Mercury, we were going to the Vantas department to get recruited properly and also get our badges as future members. As we were looking around, I looked at her and asked;

" Since when?"

She looked at me confused, so I helped her out.

"Since when have you been on eyes aid?"

" Did you say eyes aid? Oh my God! nobody says that these days or ever. It is called spectacles. For as long as I can remember, I have always been on it. Feels like I was born wearing one. Why?"

"Nothing actually, it looks good on you" I answered

"Poor thing ain't got no choice you know"

She said adjusting her glasses as I smiled at her.

At the Vantas department, I saw another Latino hand writing on there wall beside there black flag. I felt so disappointed I could not comprehend Latin because I was itching to know what it said.

On the head's table was sitted a guy who looks like he is over twenty three years. The stats said; once you are twenty three, you no longer has a place at the Marshalls, either you go to the KS Army, or you go home. I looked at Mercury who was also thinking what I was thinking.

We took our badge after filling a form and left for our dormitories.

"Well, that guy is old, so many rules are not kept in here, it seems" Mercury told me.

"Exactly what I was thinking, something is seriously wrong with this place, I sensed it the first day I came here I just couldn't get my hands on it" I said hugging my self as we walked back to the dorm.

"Have you seen the giant door with no handle, no locks or knob or whatever you can open it with, not even a key card detector?" Mercury asked hoping my answer will be affirmative.

"Where?," I asked her.

"Behind the Alphas camp, the red berets. God, it looks unreal. I am curious to know what lies behind it"

"Well, I also can't help but notice the three anchors on the M legs at the reception wall" I Said

"Yes, I saw that too, one of the anchors is missing a chain, did you notice?"

I looked at her in disbelief but somehow I was relieved and I felt normal, because atleast someone sees what I see, even better. I only waved my head that I didn't notice it.

"well, why the anchor?, I mean, this is no pirate school?" She continued.

"Now that's what I thought when I saw it" I replied.

"This place is creepy. And it is creeping under my skin" She said feeling very uncomfortable.

"Mercury, don't freak out, I got you. We will do something about it. I am happy I am not alone. I need to brush my teeth and shower. See you later"

"Yeah, bye for now, Helion"

she said as we went into our different rooms.

I went inside and I found Yuvonne ready for the next activity. So I went in to brush and get ready too. She hasn't noticed a thing. She is just so overwhelmed of being here and I don't want to be a spoiler, I decided to keep everything to myself for the time being.

"You seem to be bonding already with Mercury?" She asked looking herself over at the mirror.

"Well, yeah, we have somethings in common. So we couldn't help but get along, besides she is my partner. Speaking of partner. Have you seen your ally?"

She rolled her eyes in disgust as she started;

"Yeah I did, he is boring. I wish I can switch to some other person because that guy is going to be the death of me"

She said brushing off her shoulder like he just touched her there. She then adjusted her badge. Then I looked closer and saw six star spaces on her badge. I checked mine and it was a normal five star spaces.

"Yuvonne, which beret are you under?"

"Yellow, the Crones.Why? Don't you like it? It's on the badge though, you should have noticed."

"No it's cool"  I answered, trying to hide my observation from her.

"Okay let's go, Soldier" she said as we left the room for the next activity.
