CHAPTER ONE

A sleek black sports car purred as it drove into crescent high school parking lot, drawing all eyes. All students paused their conversations and turned their attention to the car and they were eager to know who owned such a nice car.

Then, the door opened smoothly, and Elaira Wade stepped out of the car. She had just gotten herself a car, as she wasn't of driving age before. Elaira was one of the richest girls in school and had become more popular during the last semester due to a very bad event.

Everyone gushes over her new look while some admires her car. Elaira was wearing a fitted white crop top, marched with a very short high-waisted black skirt that hugged her curves perfectly. Eliara Wade tossed her blond hair back with a flick of her wrist, revealing her striking blue eyes and flawless sun-kissed skin. As she closed her car and walked toward the school, the boys around her stumbled as they were already captivated by her beauty.

The truth was that Elaira had put a lot of effort into resuming school as she didn't want to be weighed down by the bad event that happened last semester. She believed if she hung her head low, the students would see her as a pushover and talk about the incident, so she put in a lot of effort into her appearance.

Her best friends just stared at her with their mouths agape, surprised by the huge transformation as she had even dyed her hair. Elaira had two friends—Jessica, Mona, and they were inseparable.

Elaira sighted her friends waiting for her and waved at them with a wide smile on her face as she walk towards them, but only Jessica was able to wave back as Mona was still in shock.

“What the heck, girl? You look damn hot!”

“I dunno if I'm supposed to call this hot, but she looks so… stunning,” Mona finally found her voice.

Elaira smiled, her lips a perfect shade of red. “Thanks, guys. Just wanna try something new out.”

“And this definitely looks new, sweetheart,” Mona added checking her out as Eliara swirled around.

Deciding to continue their conversation inside and talk about their summer break, they turned and headed toward the classroom but were stopped again by the sudden powerful roar of motorcycle engines.

Everyone turned back again, only to see two motorcycles, sleek and shiny, speed into the parking lot and then, the identical twins, Asher and Axel removed their helmets in unison, revealing their well chiseled faces.

Their jet-black hair was tousled from the ride but it only added to their charm. They wore matching black leather jackets, tight enough to show off their muscular physique, paired with dark jeans and heavy boots.

There was a loud gasp from everyone and the girls sighed and giggled, while some even fainted at the sight of their handsomeness and the guys admired their expensive bikes.

It seemed it was not only Elaira who had prepared a lot for the new semester but also the twins. Elaira Wade’s heart sank, and her grip tightened on her bag as fear gripped her at the sight of the twins who had been nothing but a source of misery in her life.

Jessica noticed Elaira's expression and understood the reason for it—last semester was very bad for Elaira because of those two.

“Elaira, are you okay?”

But Elaira wasn't alright as she was frozen on the spot, vividly remembering the memories of the second semester. She couldn't help but recall the torment and embarrassment that those two brought her.

******* TWO MONTHS AGO*******

Elaira walked through the hallway, clutching her books to her chest as she had just left her homeroom teacher, Mrs Laura Waltz's office. She sighed heavily in frustration as she remembered Mrs Waltz's words to her;

“ Your grades are seriously going down hill and you might not even get any college to accept you. It will be best if your really work harder but I doubt that would work as you are graduating soon.”

She gave herself a knock on her head, chastising herself for not studying harder from the beginning.

Lost in deep thought of how she would improve her bad grades, Eliara turned to a corner and bumped into Asher, causing her books to scatter across the floor.

"Watch where you're going, klutz," Asher sneered at her, his green eyes flashing with amusement. He had intentionally bumped into Elaira.

Elaira raised her gaze up and saw the two of them. She recognized them immediately as the two famous twins in the school and come from a very wealthy family. No one dare get on their bad side.

Elaira quickly apologized as the last thing she wanted was to get their attention and cause any trouble for herself when she just had few more months to graduate highschool.

"I'm sorry," she mumbled as she quickly bent down to pick up her books, but before she could gather them all, Axel swooped in and grabbed her diary from the pile.

"What's this?" Axel asked with an arched brow, holding up Elaira's diary for everyone to see.

"I think it's a diary. Can't even believe someone like her would keep one," Asher taunted.

Fear gripped Elaira as her heart pounded heavily in her chest like it would pop out at any moment. There were things in the diary that she wanted no one to see as she had written all her secrets and personal thoughts in the diary, and the last thing she wanted was for these two to find out the content.

"Give it back," Elaira tried to grab the diary from Axel, but he quickly raised his hand higher, out of her reach.

Axel smirked at Elaira as he found it amusing teasing her and then quickly passed the diary to Asher, who quickly opened it and flipped through the pages. His eyes darkened as he founded a picture of one of their professors and Elaira’s confession written in the diary but quickly mask it with a smirk.

"What the fuck, this girl has a crush on Mr Walter," Asher screamed out, his voice echoing through the hallway.

And all the students at the hallway gasped as he said that.

"She even wrote something down. Oh, I need to read this aloud!" Asher said as he attempted to read the content of what Elaira had written.

“ Oh my God! I'm in deep shit.” Elaira mumbled as she knew that the two of them would not back down any time soon.

Her face burned with humiliation as she looked around, seeing everyone now laughing and pointing fingers at her. Tears welled up in her eyes as she had never for once felt this humiliated in her entire life.

"Give it back to me, please," she quickly moved closer to Asher and tried to grab the diary from him, but Asher held it high above her head and began to read.

"Dear diary, I have a huge and undeniable crush on Mr Walter. Yes, the one with the captivating smile and the voice that could make even the most mundane subjects sound thrilling."

"Whoa!” the entire hallway boomed as everyone heard that. Students rushed more into the hallway, having heard that something thrilling was happening there.

Axel continued, "From the moment he walked into the classroom, my heart did a little dance. There’s just something about the way he explains things in class, that makes me forget about the rest of the world. His eyes lit up when he talks about chemistry, and I can’t help but get lost in those deep and beautiful gazes of his.”

"Wow!" Another loud laughter erupted from the students as they all gasped at this well-written confession letter being read by Asher.

“ All hail to Mr Walter!” The class president Merrick Flair said, raising up his hand and clapped his hands together.

“ All hail!!!!” the students follow suit.

Elaira's legs lost their strength, and she fell on her butt immediately. At that moment, she wished the ground would open up and swallow her whole as this embarrassment was just too much for her.

Asher stopped and leaned closer to Elaira, whispering, "What's the magic word to stop reading it?" He asked in a mocking tone.

"Please," she whispered, barely audible.

She knew he had read some of it out loud but really wished he wouldn't go down any further as she had written more that must definitely not be read out.

"Wrong," Axel said, then stood up and continued to read.

"What's going on here?" a stern voice interrupted.

Everyone turned to see Mr Walter, the youngest teacher in Crescent high school and admired by all for his good look. He stood at the end of the hallway with his presence commanding silence, and the laughter died down instantly.

"Nothing, Mr Walter, just having a nice time with our dear friend," Axel said as he quickly moved close to Elaira and pulled her up, wrapping his hand around her shoulder, while Elaira threw him a disdainful glare but he returned it with a false smile.

"Settle down and get to class immediately," Mr Walter said, locking eyes onto Elaira looking at her tear-streaked face and trembling form.

And at that moment, Elaira thought he might rescue her and save her from the two devils beside her, but to her surprise, Mr Walter simply shook his head, and a look of disappointment crossed his face. As Mr Walter noticed that the students had begun to disperse to their various classes, he also turned on his heel and walked away, leaving Eliara alone in the midst of the demons.

Elaira's heart sank as the only person that she admired had just witnessed her humiliation and walked away without even saving her. But she had no idea that an Alpha cannot command another Alpha.

Asher finally tossed her diary back to her. "Pathetic," he muttered, turning away with Axel by his side.

Elaira quickly gathered her things from the floor, her hands shaking. With her head hung low, she headed to the bathroom while mocking whispers trailed after her. She quickly entered a stall, locked herself in, and cried her eyes out heavily as the humiliation was just too much for her.
