David pov
“Mr. David, I just got a call from Mr. Williams' assistant, he is coming back in a month.” My assistant Kain informed me on the updates. "Stay in contact with him until we crack the deal, all right." I ordered him as he nodded. "Also Mr. David, you have a few meetings in your schedule today. Would you like me to inform you?" He questioned making me frown my brows. "No, not today I have something more important to do. Cancel all my meetings and postpone them until tomorrow." I said at which he nodded. “Also, get me the info on Andrew Donovan. Get in the depth and find anything you can from the finest details.” He looked confused and wanted to ask about it but he didn't have enough courage to do so. Well his confusion isn't wrong either, I have never postponed or cancelled my meetings maybe once or twice. But most of the time I prefer to keep myself busy at work. Anyways it's better than going to parties and kissing others asses for favour. That's the reason I am now one of the biggest business tycoons. I loosen the tie from my neck which made me feel exhausted. Andrew Donovan is my best friend's father, but he is now trying his luck based on his son's friendship. Even though I dislike men like Andrew. But his son is way better than him, in fact I like his company more than my work sometimes. James Donovan is the life of the party and the place he goes to. I am quite the opposite. While I put people on edge he put them at peace, but despite our different personalities we have quite a friendship. We became friends when we were in college. He didn't care about money, he was friends with the richest and so does someone like a bartender. Although I can't say the same for his father, well he is one of the bastards who can do anything just to get into the richest family circle. It doesn't mean he has no money but the key to get in the ‘richy circle’ is having old money. These elite family's don't sit or even budge an eye on these newly rich people they only meet , sit or give their attention to the ones who have it for generations. And Andrew is dying to be with those elites and is trying to do everything. That shows his balls to blackmail my fucking sister, the only person I care about the most. No one in this city has that much guts to even touch or put a gaze in her direction in a wrong way, but he still has the courage to mess up with her. Messing up with her means messing up with me, and I don't think doing that will be any good for him. I drop my head on the chair trying to relax my muscles, but it hardly working, right now I am so fucking frustrated and furious that I just want to crush that bastards skull. And I wish I could, if only he wasn't my best friend’s father and someone holding a key to my sister's life. Suddenly my phone buzzed, making me open my eyes. "Have you met him yet?” That question did nothing to ease my frustration. “Relax, will you? You did what you wanted to, now let me do what I have to.” And with that I hung up, without listening to anything else. I stood up and adjusted my tie once more, determined to resolve this issue. As I left my office, I hope no one dies from my hands today. “Let's get this shit together now, shall we?” My voice turned ice cold as I left to solve the issue. I quickly leave the office, feeling a mix of anxiety coursing through my veins. The driver, a stoic figure, opens the car door for me, as I slide into the plush leather seat. As I settle in, he closes the door with a soft thud, and the engine roars. The car glides smoothly onto the road, the city lights blurring into streaks of colour as we speed. I pull out my phone and call James. He picks up “what's up?" He said, making me brush off his question and get straight to the point. "Where are you?" I ask, hearing me he went silent before speaking. "I'm outside." He simply responded, making me sigh. That's what I wanted. “Okay” I said before cutting the call. I looked out of the window for a couple of minutes. Until I turn my gaze into my phone, checking important mail, but soon I throw my phone aside. I can't concentrate. Only one thing is going on in my mind. My family, my reputation, and my ego. Do not let Andrew win soon. The car stops, making me come out of my thoughts. "Sir, we are here," the guard said, making me nod. As I leave the car, I fix my coat and ring the doorbell. Soon, the door was wide open by a maid. “Where is Andrew? I ask, she looks at me for a couple of minutes. “In his office”, she said nervously as she turned around, leading me to the office. I don't call him. Andrew sir, he doesn't deserve the slightest respect from me, not even my attention. Soon, the maid stopped as she turned around, “ Andrew sir office is here” said, making me nod as soon as she left. I take a deep breath before entering the office without knocking. I enter the office as Andrew glances at me. I frown my eyes before sitting on the chair. I cross my legs as he looks at my action. At first, he was quiet, then he scoffed, putting some files on the table. “What good things do I do to see you at my house, Mr. David Dawason?” he said sarcastically, making my hand grip tight. I look at him before speaking. "I don't know about God, but you definitely call for your death by blackmailing me,” I said in a deep yet serious tone. Don't be in the mood to play around. “I prefer to be dead as rich not poor” he said making me close my eyes in frustration he defeated poking my that nervous badly. “Straight to the point what you want” I said, making him laugh. “Don't you know what I want?” he said as I remained silent seeing all his drama. “Tell your sister to marry my son,” he spoke in a serious tone. Making my jaw tighten as I look at him “I need your property. I want you to tell everybody that your sister is marrying my son” he said. “Or if my answer is no, what are you gonna do” I ask. The dumbest question ever.I know exactly what he is gonna do. “ Maybe give all the evidence to the media, making your family reputation go down,” he said with a smirk I hated the most. As I stand up and grab his collar. I pushed him towards the wall seeing the sudden action he gasped. “Don't check my patience Andrew let my sister away from this shit or I am gonna kill you right now” I growl. looking straight to him as he struggled for some air “Then who is gonna save your sister from him” he said, making my grip lose. He fixed his coat. His eyes grew wider “Okay if you don't want to sacrifice your sister's life sacrifice yours” he said, making confusion wash over me. As he continued, "Marry my daughter instead of your sister," it takes me time to process his words. But soon realisation hit me. He was talking about Olivia. Anger washed over me as I clenched my fists and took a deep breath. "The choice is yours, David," he said. Just then, my phone started ringing. I glanced at it and saw that it was her calling. I quickly ended the call and put the phone in my pocket. I couldn't let him win, but I also couldn't let my family face this situation. Without wasting any time, I looked at him, "Okay, I'll marry your daughter." His smile grew wider as his mission was completed successfully. This was the first time I couldn't use my power. And that only adds fuel to my anger. He extended his hand for a handshake, but I simply ignored him. "But I'll set the marriage date," I added. He nodded in agreement. What a rascal. "Until I achieve the fame I want," he said. As I crack my neck. I immediately leave the office. Because I know if I am going to stay one more fucking moment. I Ended up killing him with my own hands. I was leaving his house when someone bumped on my chest. When I glanced up, the last person I wanted to see was standing right in front of me. Olivia…David pov Andrew shouted, "What are you doing?" just as I landed a solid punch to his face. The impact reverberated through the room, and he crashed onto the table, fear washing over him like a tidal wave. I wasn’t about to let him off the hook easily, not with my girl lying in a hospital bed, barely clinging to life. The image of her pale face haunted me, fueling my rage. I yanked his collar, glaring into his eyes, which were wide with a mix of shock and terror. "I warned you, didn’t I? I told you not to cross the line, especially not with her."The words dripped with venom as I followed up with another punch, this time to his nose. Blood spilled out, painting a stark contrast against his pale skin. The metallic scent filled the air, mingling with the adrenaline coursing through my veins. Thankfully, it was just the two of us in the house; if anyone else had been around, I wouldn’t have cared. I was beyond reason, driven by a primal instinct to protect what was mine.He gasped, "Wha
Olivia pov I gradually open my eyes, feeling a sharp pain in my right hand. As I turn to my side, I notice the nurse is busy filling up a glucose bag. A sleepy moan escapes my lips when I realise David isn’t here. Where could he be? Ugh, he must be crammed into that tiny bed. I let out a sigh and asked the nurse, "When can I go home?" She looks at me and replies with a smile, "Today," before heading out. Great, now I’m stuck here alone. I really need to hit the bathroom. Taking a deep breath, I push myself up. Guess it’s time for a solo trip to the washroom. I grab the nearest lamp that’s sitting by the machines and use all my strength to move. They’ve had me in this cold water for way too long, and I feel like I’m starving. No wonder my legs, hands, and pretty much my whole body feel so numb that I can barely walk. Where’s David? I glance at the door again, but it’s still empty. With another deep breath, I take a step forward, then another, letting out little screams with each ste
Olivia pov I can feel the chill against my skin, my eyes are shut tight, and I’m lying on the bed. I’m not sure where I am, but I guess it’s a hospital since I can hear the machines beeping around me. Slowly, I crack my eyes open and find myself staring at a spinning fan right above me. As I turn my head, I notice needles stuck in my hand, and I’m dressed in a hospital gown. My heart sinks. I try to push myself up but end up collapsing back down. “What are you doing?” a voice calls out. I glance to my side and see David sitting on the couch. He stands up when he sees me, and he looks so different—his eyes are tired, his face is dull, and he seems completely drained, like he’s just existing without really living. With all my strength, I manage to sit up, and he watches me from a distance. Our eyes meet, and we don’t say a word; we just silently communicate how empty we feel without each other. “I love you,” the words slip out before I can stop them. He looks at me, confused. “F
David pov "Take that outside," I said, frowning. "But it's just a wallet." He shook his head at me. "Drop it outside," he replied in a cold tone, making me comply. Rhys had trained his bodyguard well. I set my wallet aside as the guard started checking me again. I waited patiently, eager to get this over with because Olivia's parents and her brother, who is also my childhood friend, had no idea she was missing. It’s not that I don’t want them to know; I’m just too swamped with their so-called drama. That’s why I asked my mom to fill them in, so Andrew could get a sense of what’s going on. Trust me, if anything happens to Olivia, I’m going to take that bastard down hard. "All done," the guard said, leading me to Rhys's office. I walked slowly, taking in the mansion—it was a bit bigger than mine. I was pretty sure there was a basement where they were keeping Olivia. The blue walls with grey shades gave off a really dull vibe. How long do I have to match his slow pace? How long until
Olivia pov The icy water hit me, jolting me awake as I gasped for air, my eyes snapping open to nothing but darkness. Panic surged through me as the memory of what happened flooded back— Fuckk, I’ve been kidnapped. My head throbbed painfully, and my body felt completely numb from the cold water soaking me. I was tied to a wooden chair that reeked of something dead—let’s just say it's an animal, because thinking otherwise would freak me out even more. My mind raced with questions, but no answers came. I could hear faint laughter in the background, and just as I felt myself slipping away again, the lights flickered on, revealing the grim reality of my situation. It took a moment for my eyes to adjust, and I took a deep breath, trying to steady myself. I was in a basement—dimly lit, with a bloody smell and an overall horror vibe, the kind of place where people get tortured or worse. And now it seemed like it was my turn. I spotted three muscular goons who had barged into my house. “L
David pov The sound of my kick echoed through the room as I smashed the door open, sending it crashing onto the marble floor. "Where the hell were you guys when all this went down?" I yelled, my voice booming enough to make my bodyguards flinch. The chaos that greeted me in my own home was a sight I never wanted to see. And Olivia fuckkkkkkk.Furniture was overturned, shattered glass littered the floor, and the air was thick with the stench of fear and desperation. My heart raced as I thought of Olivia—was she safe? The thought of her being with Ryan's crew sent a wave of nausea through me."Sir, we weren't here when it happened. Only four of our guys were, and they're already dead," one of my bodyguards replied, his voice trembling slightly. I could see the fear in his eyes, and it only fueled my anger. I slammed my fist on the nearest table in frustration, the wood splintering under the force of my blow. That’s when I noticed it—a dark, dried stain of blood on the floor that sent
