Olivia pov

The cold water hit my body like a shockwave, sending a jolt through my nerves that made me gasp for breath, momentarily paralysing me in its icy grip. It was a stark contrast to the warmth of the sun above, and I felt every drop cling to my skin as I plunged deeper into the pool.

The water enveloped me, a brief sanctuary from the chaos above, but as I pushed myself back up to the surface, I took a deep breath, shaking my head to clear the water from my eyes. That’s when I saw him—David, standing at the edge of the pool with a smug grin plastered across his face.

What a jerk! He looked far too pleased to see me in this state, and the sight of him ignited a fire of anger within me. My heart raced, not just from the cold but from the frustration boiling over.

Anger surged through me, and I felt like I could just explode. I marched over to him, shooting him a glare that could burn. He knelt down, extending a hand.

"Say you obey me like a good little fox, and I might just

David pov "I've got some good news for you," Alex said, his voice buzzing with excitement, which only made me more furious. "What is it?" I replied, sounding more drained than I actually was. Honestly, I was completely worn out. I never imagined that dealing with Olivia would drive me this crazy, and now I was stuck spending the night with my family and her in the same room. Lost in my thoughts, Alex's voice jolted me back. "Are you there?" he asked, making me let out a sigh. "Yeah, go on," I replied. He paused for a moment before continuing, "I finally hacked into Andrew's laptop." My heart skipped a beat; I was momentarily frozen by the news. "Wait, is it real? Did you delete all the evidence?" I asked, my voice filled with urgency, but he hesitated again. Ugh, what was his deal?"No, man, I just finished hacking it. Give me a minute," he said, and I felt my frustration rising. I couldn't wait any longer; each day was getting tougher, and I knew Amelia was plotting something sin

Olivia pov "Yeah, I did," I mumbled, my voice barely above a whisper as I stared at the floor, desperately trying to hide the heat creeping up my cheeks. The embarrassment was almost unbearable, and I could feel the weight of Sofia's gaze on me. Her jaw dropped in disbelief, and before I knew it, she had flopped onto the bed, her limbs flailing around like she had just hit the jackpot in some ridiculous game show. "Oh my god, Olivia, you actually did that!" she exclaimed, her voice a mix of shock and excitement, which only made my blush deepen. Ugh, this was the last thing I wanted to deal with right now! I couldn't stand the thought of being the centre of attention, especially not for something so cringe-worthy. And David—he was the root of all this nonsense. "Girl, you’re telling me you grabbed David's collar and kissed him? The David Dawson? The guy every girl dreams about, and the one you can't stand?" she shouted, her eyes wide with disbelief. I sighed heavily, feeling the f

Olivia pov I ring the doorbell and let out a shaky breath. It’s been ages since I last saw Mom and Dad. I doubt they’ve changed much, but I press the button again, feeling a mix of excitement and anxiety bubbling in my chest. The sound of the chime echoes through the quiet house, and I can almost hear the memories flooding back—laughter, arguments, and the comforting hum of family life. When Mom opens the door, her eyes widen in shock, and before I can say anything, she pulls me into a warm embrace. “Olivia, are you okay?” she asks, her voice laced with concern. I can feel the familiar scent of her perfume, a blend of lavender and something sweet, wrapping around me like a soft blanket. I just smile and nod, trying to reassure her. “I’m good! What about you?” I reply, breaking the hug and stepping inside. As she closes the door behind me, I take a moment to absorb my surroundings. The house feels both familiar and foreign. Some things have changed; the old painting that used to ha

David pov "David, David, where have you been? I've been calling you for the last minute!" A voice jolted me back to reality. I quickly cleared my throat. "Uh, yeah, I'm here. Go ahead," I replied as the guy in front of me nodded and started going on about how great his company is and how beneficial it would be for me to collaborate with him. I'm in Italy right now, stuck in a meeting room because of some urgent matter. I left a message for Olivia saying I had to go, but honestly, I can't shake this feeling of being out of it. As the CEO of a major company, I should be focused, but my mind keeps drifting back to that night with Olivia—her smooth skin, those curves, and those lips that drive me wild. It's frustrating because I shouldn't feel this way about her, especially since she's the daughter of the guy who's blackmailing me. But damn, I can't help but think about what I want to do with her. I want to hear her scream my name, to feel her in my arms, completely under my control

David pov "Why didn’t you let me know you were roaming outside?" I said, my annoyance clear as I parked the car in front of my place. I was seriously frustrated at this point. She just stared at me, not saying a word. "How do you know I’m here?" she asked, which only made my jaw tighten in irritation. "That’s not what I asked," I replied. Hearing that, she got out of the car and headed straight for the house. I closed my eyes, trying to calm down, but I quickly followed her, slamming my door behind me. "Don’t fuck with me, Olivia. I’m not in the mood," I warned her. She paused for a moment. "I don’t have an answer for you. I just went to see James," she stammered. I stepped closer, closing the gap between us. "If you want to see him, fine, but not like this—wandering around when I’m not here to look out for you," I said. She frowned, her eyes narrowing. "I don’t need your protection, David," she shot back, making me clench my jaw as a possessive instinct kicked in. I pulled he

Olivia pov I was dozing off peacefully when the sun's rays started to warm me up. Mmmmm, I let out a little moan as I buried my face deeper into the pillow, inhaling that irresistible scent. Just as I was about to relax completely, my eyes flew open. Wait a minute, this pillow doesn’t smell like that, and why is it so tight? I blinked and saw David's face just inches from mine, his eyes closed and arms wrapped around my waist, pulling me closer. My heart raced as I took in his chiselled jaw and those striking features, not to mention that intoxicating scent that could make any girl weak in the knees."Don’t look at me like you’re about to fall in love," he murmured in a sleepy voice, making my heart skip a beat as he opened his eyes. Those deep, dark pools seemed to hold a world of secrets, and for a moment, I was lost in them. "I... umm... let me go," I stammered, cursing myself for sounding so flustered. My cheeks felt hot, and I could feel the heat radiating from his body, makin

Olivia pov A voice cut through my thoughts, saying, "Don't act like you're about to set that building on fire." I didn't need to be a genius to know who it was. "If you're in, it's always a yes," I replied, glancing at David. He wasn't surprised or shocked; he knew I meant it. Standing in front of his building, I felt a different vibe than when I first arrived. I couldn't deny how beautiful it was. "Try not to use your mouth too much in a press conference," he said, but I just ignored him. Yeah, I was planning to give him the silent treatment because he’s more stubborn than anyone I know. And honestly, I had no intention of ruining his reputation; I'm not that cruel. Right ?Anyway, focus, Olivia. I was wearing a baby pink dress that hugged my curves, covering my arms and knees. I definitely wasn’t there to seduce anyone; I just needed to look good for this event, which felt like my own downfall. I turned to face him—his white shirt and black coat, perfectly styled hair, and tha

David pov One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight—slowly, I shut my eyes, listening to the tick-tock of the clock on my office wall. The place is buzzing with chatter, but all I can focus on is that watch. Olivia is over there with her parents, avoiding eye contact after what went down earlier. Not that I care, right? "David, you jerk!" A voice snaps me back to reality. I turn around to see James, looking sharp in his three-piece suit. Thank goodness he showed up; I need a distraction from thoughts of how Olivia's thighs felt against my hand. "Why are you so late?" I ask, trying to keep it cool. He scoffs."Yeah, it’s all because I couldn’t decide what to wear." He waves down a waiter and orders us two drinks. Normally, I wouldn’t drink before something important, but right now, I down it to push Olivia out of my mind. "So, how’s my sister doing? Taking care of her?" James asks. I shoot him a look. "Go ask your brilliant sister," I snapped. He playfully punches my shoulder a

David pov Andrew shouted, "What are you doing?" just as I landed a solid punch to his face. The impact reverberated through the room, and he crashed onto the table, fear washing over him like a tidal wave. I wasn’t about to let him off the hook easily, not with my girl lying in a hospital bed, barely clinging to life. The image of her pale face haunted me, fueling my rage. I yanked his collar, glaring into his eyes, which were wide with a mix of shock and terror. "I warned you, didn’t I? I told you not to cross the line, especially not with her."The words dripped with venom as I followed up with another punch, this time to his nose. Blood spilled out, painting a stark contrast against his pale skin. The metallic scent filled the air, mingling with the adrenaline coursing through my veins. Thankfully, it was just the two of us in the house; if anyone else had been around, I wouldn’t have cared. I was beyond reason, driven by a primal instinct to protect what was mine.He gasped, "Wha

Olivia pov I gradually open my eyes, feeling a sharp pain in my right hand. As I turn to my side, I notice the nurse is busy filling up a glucose bag. A sleepy moan escapes my lips when I realise David isn’t here. Where could he be? Ugh, he must be crammed into that tiny bed. I let out a sigh and asked the nurse, "When can I go home?" She looks at me and replies with a smile, "Today," before heading out. Great, now I’m stuck here alone. I really need to hit the bathroom. Taking a deep breath, I push myself up. Guess it’s time for a solo trip to the washroom. I grab the nearest lamp that’s sitting by the machines and use all my strength to move. They’ve had me in this cold water for way too long, and I feel like I’m starving. No wonder my legs, hands, and pretty much my whole body feel so numb that I can barely walk. Where’s David? I glance at the door again, but it’s still empty. With another deep breath, I take a step forward, then another, letting out little screams with each ste

I’m not sure where I am, but I guess it’s a hospital since I can hear the machines beeping around me. Slowly, I crack my eyes open and find myself staring at a spinning fan right above me. As I turn my head, I notice needles stuck in my hand, and I’m dressed in a hospital gown. My heart sinks. I try to push myself up but end up collapsing back down. “What are you doing?” a voice calls out. I glance to my side and see David sitting on the couch. He stands up when he sees me, and he looks so different—his eyes are tired, his face is dull, and he seems completely drained, like he’s just existing without really living. With all my strength, I manage to sit up, and he watches me from a distance. Our eyes meet, and we don’t say a word; we just silently communicate how empty we feel without each other. “I love you,” the words slip out before I can stop them. He looks at me, confused. “F

David pov "Take that outside," I said, frowning. "But it's just a wallet." He shook his head at me. "Drop it outside," he replied in a cold tone, making me comply. Rhys had trained his bodyguard well. I set my wallet aside as the guard started checking me again. I waited patiently, eager to get this over with because Olivia's parents and her brother, who is also my childhood friend, had no idea she was missing. It’s not that I don’t want them to know; I’m just too swamped with their so-called drama. That’s why I asked my mom to fill them in, so Andrew could get a sense of what’s going on. Trust me, if anything happens to Olivia, I’m going to take that bastard down hard. "All done," the guard said, leading me to Rhys's office. I walked slowly, taking in the mansion—it was a bit bigger than mine. I was pretty sure there was a basement where they were keeping Olivia. The blue walls with grey shades gave off a really dull vibe. How long do I have to match his slow pace? How long until

Panic surged through me as the memory of what happened flooded back— Fuckk, I’ve been kidnapped. My head throbbed painfully, and my body felt completely numb from the cold water soaking me. I was tied to a wooden chair that reeked of something dead—let’s just say it's an animal, because thinking otherwise would freak me out even more. My mind raced with questions, but no answers came. I could hear faint laughter in the background, and just as I felt myself slipping away again, the lights flickered on, revealing the grim reality of my situation. It took a moment for my eyes to adjust, and I took a deep breath, trying to steady myself. I was in a basement—dimly lit, with a bloody smell and an overall horror vibe, the kind of place where people get tortured or worse. And now it seemed like it was my turn. I spotted three muscular goons who had barged into my house. “L

The thought of her being with Ryan's crew sent a wave of nausea through me."Sir, we weren't here when it happened. Only four of our guys were, and they're already dead," one of my bodyguards replied, his voice trembling slightly. I could see the fear in his eyes, and it only fueled my anger. I slammed my fist on the nearest table in frustration, the wood splintering under the force of my blow. That’s when I noticed it—a dark, dried stain of blood on the floor that sent

David pov Today has been such a long day. I let out a big yawn as I shut my laptop; it’s already 10 PM, and the office closed an hour ago. Yet, here I am, still stuck in my cubicle working on upcoming projects. James was right; I really need to let others handle their tasks instead of taking everything on myself. Not that my own problems are any less. I glance at my watch again—has Olivia already fallen asleep, or is she waiting for me? Time to head home, I mumble to myself as I stand up. Just as I’m about to leave, my phone rings. I pick it up and see it’s one of my bodyguards. Great, what now? I answer, and he says, “Sir, Amelia is leaving.” I’m instantly confused. “What?” I ask firmly, but he goes silent. “Answer me, damn it!” I shout. Finally, he responds, “Sir, Amelia is sneaking out of the house with all her luggage and some guy.” My confusion turns to shock. This girl… “Where are they?” I demand, anger and fear bubbling up inside me. I know it’s Zayden. “Sir, they’re leavi

I yell as I slam the plate down, shattering it into pieces. "Calm down, Olvia, just breathe," I tell myself, but how can I? He did it again! How does he always manage to disappear after we’ve spent hours together? I plop down in the nearest chair, trying to shake it off, but it’s no use. This morning, I wake up and David is nowhere to be found. All I got was a text saying he had to leave for some urgent work. I remember how hard I slammed my phone on the table after reading that. I know I shouldn’t be this upset, but I am. I want him there when I wake up, wrapped in his arms as I open my eyes. Instead, I’m left with an empty bed. I don’t know why I keep expecting more from him. He’s never said he loves me or even cares; it’s just me hoping that maybe this marriage could work. But guess what? I sigh, realising I

David pov The lights were bright, making it hard for me to focus. "So, should we start working on the project?" one of the Group 1 employees asked, prompting a sigh from me as I tried to process his presentation. The fluorescent lights overhead buzzed, casting a harsh glare on the glossy presentation slides that flickered on the screen. I rubbed my temples, feeling the weight of the day pressing down on me. "Alright, go ahead with that project, but make sure to get a top celebrity to promote it," I replied, standing up to leave the meeting room. The thought of celebrity endorsements always seemed to add a layer of excitement, but it also meant more pressure. "Sir, what about Group 2? They still have pending projects," my secretary reminded me, causing me to pause and turn back. Her voice was steady, but I could sense the underlying urgency. "Give them a week. If they can't finish their pending projects by then, that's on them," I said as I walked into my office, the door clicking s
